Zakharchenko: Novorossiya Will Be Created Very Soon, A Graham Phillips Video. British journalist Graham Phillips interviews Donetsk People’s Republic Prime Minister Alexander Zakharchenko about the existence of Novorossiya. A rough transcript summarized from the subtitles is as follows: “Graham Phillips: We read a lot of news about Novorossiya. Strelkov especially speaks about Novorossiya. What about the relationship between the DPR and Novorossiya? Alexander Zakharchenko: You can see what my opinion is. Novorossiya is a union of the Republics of Donetsk and Lugansk, and maybe some other republics. It is possible to create Novorossiya on the territory of these republics. But it must be created, it will be created. Now, unfortunately, Novorossiya is not yet in existence. There are the Donetsk and Lugansk Republics. They are the two cornerstones of the foundation of Novorossiya, which will be created for sure. And we will be trailblazers, the first to live in the great Novorossiya, in which we all of course believe. This is my personal opinion…. We discussed with Borodai the establishment of Novorossiya when he was here. I know his vision, and I even share some of his views. I believe in Novorossiya. I believe that it will be. I even know that it will most likely be created very soon. Our opponents and enemies don’t expect how soon it with will happen. However, it will happen. We will see it very soon.” See Graham Phillips Off Guardian video at “Novorossiya will be created soon” — Zakharchenko (June 30).

Ukrainian army has resumed shelling of Donetsk / Zvezda / Edited autotranslation / June 30, 2015 / Ukrainian security forces continued shelling of the village of Oktyabrsky, located in the Kuibyshev region of Donetsk near the airport, said the Donetsk News Agency, as reported by the DPR Ministry of Defence. “At the moment, the APU [UAF] are firing on the village of Oktyabrsky, Kuibyshev district of Donetsk. The shelling continued for at least 40 minutes,” he told the agency. Information on casualties or damage specified [sic]. In addition, there are reports of shelling in Gorlovka. The attack was inflicted on the mines. Also under fire were residential areas. “The shelling is very tight. There is destruction of the residential sector. Mine 6-7 and 19-20 were struck by cannon artillery. Also under fire is the village and district of Kurganka Mercury [sic]. Data on victims clarified [sic],” the representative of the DPR Republican Guard told Interfax from the scene. The situation worsened in the Donets Basin in the early summer: June 3, near Marinka there were serious battles, of which 34 people became victims, according to the UN. The militia reported that Ukrainian security officials continue to pull heavy artillery and multiple launch rocket systems to the contact line, and the intensity of the attacks is growing. Oktyabrsky suffered serious fire on 27 June. As a result, a fire started in the village.

UAF Tanks Redeployed In Maryinka. The Ukrainian army has redeployed six tanks from Kurahovo, about 30 km from Donetsk, into Maryinka, the scene of instense fighting in early June, when more than 400 people were killed, most of them UAF troops. See TASS report Donetsk republic sees redeployment of Kiev tanks to Maryinka (June 29).

Pushilin: Ukraine Constitutional Reform Must Meet Late 2015 Deadline. Donetsk People’s Republic contact group envoy Denis Pushilin has stressed that the deadline for constitutional reform mandated by the Minsk 2.0 Agreements must be met, and that DPR and LPR representatives must be involved and give their consent. Kiev is clearly failing to meet these conditions. See TASS report Donetsk republic’s envoy reminds Kiev about constitutional reform deadline (June 29).

Plotnitsky: Kiev Downplays Its Forbidden Volunteer Battalions. In response to Kiev regime leader Petro Poroshenko’s statement that Ukrainian forces in Donbass number 60,000, the Lugansk People’s Republic Prime Minister Igor Plotnitsky has said the true number is 75,000. Apparently Poroshenko has been playing down the existence of “volunteer” battalions, including Pravy Sektor troops and foreign mercenaries, as these units are forbidden by the Minsk 2.0 Agreements. For full Fort Russ report see Kiev Military in the Donbass number 75 Thousand (June 29).

Kiev Neo-Nazi Battalions Still Active in Ukraine. The Swiss newspaper Le Temps has reported that Kiev continues to rely on neo-Nazi battalions such as Dnepr-1 and Azov. “‘The government can criticize us as much as it wants to, but it needs the Dnepr-1 and the Right Sector…. The Ukrainian army cannot defend the country alone,’ said Konstantin, one of the militants fighting in Donbass, as cited by Le Temps.” The Swiss report continues, “The integration of extreme right-wing groups and the Ukrainian Army is going full speed. The Right Sector supports the army, while the Azov battalion receives its orders directly from the Ministry of Defense. All nationalist groups receive orders from the headquarters in Kramatorsk…. The nationalists plan on organizing a rally in Kiev on July 3, demanding the Ukrainian government to resume offensive in Donbass disregarding the Minsk agreements.” For full Sputnik report see Kiev Using Various Neo-Nazi Groups to Wage War in Donbass – Swiss Media (June 27).

Ukraine Media Says Kiev Draft Amendments Violate Minsk 2.0. / Kiev draft amendments to the constitution do not solve the problem of Donbass and violate “Minsk-2” – the Ukrainian media / Donetsk News Agency / Edited autotranslation by Quemado Institute / June 29, 2015 / Donetsk / The draft amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine do not really solve the problem of Donbass, the Ukrainian publication “Comments” wrote today. As noted at the last meeting of the working group for preparation of amendments, this opinion was expressed, in particular, by a member of the commission, the first president of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk. However, the chairman, Speaker of Parliament Vladimir Groisman, ignored it. “Meanwhile, comments from members of the Constitutional Commission are logical, because after the UN Security Council reviewed the Minsk Agreements, they have become the norm of international law and are binding on all UN member states,” emphasizes the publication.

In the present draft, however, there are no changes to the Constitution provided for in the Minsk Agreement that govern the right to self-determination, language, participation of local governments in the appointment of heads of prosecutors’ offices and courts in the Donbass, as well as the right to form militia groups by the decision of local councils. Also not provided is the fulfillment of the obligations of the ban on early termination of powers of deputies of local councils and officers elected at regional early elections. Including the transitional provisions, these features are determined by the law on the special order of the local government. “It is insufficient, since the content of the law can be changed by a simple majority in parliament.” The availability of these standards in the text of the Constitution is a direct requirement of paragraph 11 of the Minsk Agreement. Therefore, the proposed draft amendments to the Constitution “endangers not only the performance of the Minsk Agreement, but also the peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbass,” the newspaper notes.

OSCE Urged to Check Radiation from Donetsk Factory. Following the June 16 explosion at the Donetsk chemical factory where nuclear waste is also stored, Kiev has expressed alarm about possible high radiation levels in Donetsk, urging the OSCE to monitor the site. See Sputnik report High Alert: Ukraine Asks OSCE to Check Radiation Levels Over Donetsk (June 29). Quemado Institute comments: to our knowledge, there have been at least two explosions at this factory, one in February and one in June. Other sources have claimed the explosions were caused by Ukrainian shelling of explosives in storage. We also saw a report last week that Donetsk authorities have checked the site and no elevated radiation was detected. We suspect Kiev’s alarm is exaggerated for public relations purposes. Other observers also suspect that the Ukrainian army is deliberately attacking this chemical factory in order to release radiation on Donetsk. We regret Sputnik does not include sufficient detail to clarify these questions.

Novorossiya Media Outlets: The Story Behind the Information Race? DW’s Kitty Logan offers a behind-the-scenes description of pro-Novorossiya news outlets located in the city of Donetsk, claiming they are winning the information battle. In particular, she talks about Novorossia Today, a prominent news agency now with a staff of 50. For full DW commentary, see Donetsk rebels get their message across (June 26). Editor’s note: For clarification, there exist two separate news outlets: “Novorossia Today” and “Novorossiya Today”. The former, we assume, is the one located in Donetsk, a news source we rely on. The latter harbors a discernible Western bias and we rarely refer to it. Author Kitty Logan uses the spelling “Novorossia Today”, however a photo caption in the article, apparently in error, spells it “Novorossiya Today”. Quemado Institute comments: Logan refers to Donetsk citizens as “rebels”, so we do not know how biased this article is. What Donetsk still needs is a city news outlet, with a name such as “The Donetsk Herald” for example, that handles world, national and local news on the commercial scale of the Kyiv Post, something most big cities have. Yet Kitty Logan, neglecting to mention the Kyiv Post, alleges that Ukraine is behind Donetsk in the information war. Nothing could be further from the truth. Western media get their Donbass information almost entirely from Kiev. Ukraine is winning the information war hands down.

Matthias Platzeck

Platzeck at Karlsruhe Forum: Failed Russian Sanctions Must Be Revised / Russkaya Vesna / Edited autotranslation by Quemado Institute / June 29, 2015 / The effect of EU sanctions against Russia has had the opposite impact and is not what was expected by the European Community; they must be adjusted or canceled, the head of the German-Russian Forum Matthias Platzeck said Monday at a press conference. The German-Russian Forum is the setting of the 13th German-Russian conference of twin cities, which is taking place on Monday in Karlsruhe. “The results of the sanctions were not the ones we expected. They were exactly the opposite,” said Platzeck. According to him, the sanctions have not only failed to end the conflict in Ukraine, but also have not stepped up the pressure on the Russian leadership on the part of the population. Platzeck presented the results of opinion polls, according to which 89 percent of the population support the Russian president, Vladimir Putin. “We got the opposite result in the development of these sanctions. This means that these measures should be amended or repealed,” concluded Platzeck. These sanctions are not only a drag on the economy of Russia, Germany and all of Europe, they can transfer some of the surplus to third countries, particularly the US and China, who come to the Russian market, taking advantage of the weakening of European trade, said Platzeck.

Paul Craig Roberts

Paul Craig Roberts

Global Research: Truth is Crime. A revealing commentary by two preeminent analysts Paul Craig Roberts and Stephen Lendman underscores the difficulties faced by any news platform attempting to publish truth. “The Western presstitutes have succeeded in creating a false reality for insouciant Americans and also for much of the European Union population,” says Roberts. “A sizable percentage of these insouciant peoples believe that Russia invaded Ukranine and that Russia is threatening to invade the Baltic States and Poland. This belief exists despite all intelligence of all Western governments reporting that there is no sign of any Russian forces that would be required for invasion. The ‘Russian invasion,’ like ‘Saddam Hussein’s weapons of mass destruction and al Qaeda connections,’ like ‘Assad of Syria’s use of chemical weapons against his own people,’ like ‘Iranian nukes,’ never existed but nevertheless became the reality in the Western media. The insouciant Western peoples believe in non-existent occurrencies.” For full Global Research commentary see Truth is a Crime Against The State (June 28) by Paul Craig Roberts and Stephen Lendman.

slavjun29sGlobal Research: Radio Frequency Climate Manipulation Amounts To Weather Warfare / by Dane Wigington / June 29, 2015 / Global Research / Climate engineering is a completely runaway juggernaut of total insanity. The planet’s climate system is unraveling by the day as the geoengineers try frantically to control it with ever more desperate and destructive measures (which were a primary cause of the climate disintegration in the first place). As the photograph below clearly shows, powerful radio frequency transmissions have a profound effect on clouds that have been aerosolized by the jet aircraft spraying of toxic electrically conductive heavy metals. RF transmissions over the Prince Edward Islands can be seen in the image below. [Image shown at source.] Massive Aerosol operations off the west coast of the North American continent, such heavy spraying is used in conjunction with RF transmissions. Bizarre cloud configurations commonly occur due to the radio frequency bombardment of the atmosphere for climate modification purposes. The following image is from the Eastern Pacific, June 26, 2015. The 90 degree angle cut out of the aerosolized cloud cover is a signature of RF influence. [Images shown at source.] After over 65 years of climate “intervention”, very real damage has been done to the Earth’s life support systems (along with countless other forms of anthropogenic destruction to the biosphere). The climate engineers are now appear to be attempting to use the very same intervention methods which caused the damage in the first place, to mitigate the harm already done. There is no sanity in this equation. The visible RF influence in the noctilucent cloud image below indicates probable evidence of project “LUCY” and project “ALAMO” at work. The ongoing radio frequency saturation in our atmosphere is extremely harmful to living organisms, including us. The 2 minute video below is an excellent capture of RF manipulation on weather systems, it is shocking and well worth the time to view. [Video shown at source.] Quemado Institute comments: Though unrelated to the Donbass conflict, we have posted the full Global Research article above. US and NATO geoengineering, popularly known by the “C-word” (chemtrails), is one of the most egregious examples of nightmarish insanity and world destruction on the part of the US government, and deserves mention in this context. We are glad a news outlet of the stature of Global Research has broken the information barrier and published this revealing article. The “toxic electrically conductive heavy metals” jet aircraft are spraying into our atomosphere, which are known to include aluminum, barium and strontium,, are believed by some to be coal ash, having the same elemental spectrum. Such aerosols are thought to cause drought, and are likely to blame for the massive fires that have destroyed the mountain forests of the southwest United States. Ukraine should be wary of joining NATO, as the US will fill their skies with toxic aerosols.

Pushilin: Ukraine Constitutional Reform Works Without Donbass Representatives. Donetsk People’s Republic Contact Group Envoy Denis Pushilin said on Sunday that the Ukraine Constitutional Commission was still working without any representatives of the Donetsk and Lugansk Republics, in violation of the Minsk 2.0 Agreements signed on February 12. “Minsk-2 provides for a constitutional reform agreed with us. And our proposals include the right to appoint and control the activities of local authorities, courts, prosecution agencies and people’s militia by the government of the Donetsk People’s Republic, but not by Kiev,” the Donetsk News Agency quoted Pushilin as saying. The TASS report continues: “On Friday, the constitutional commission approved a framework text of decentralization-related amendments to the constitution. Poroshenko said that ‘Donbass representatives have taken part in drafting these constitutional changes.'” For full report see Local authorities in Donbass should be controlled by DPR government — DPR representative (June 28). Editor’s note: It is clear to us that Poroshenko’s statement is an outright fabrication meant to convince his Western backers that he and his regime are complying with Minsk 2.0. For background on Kiev’s constitutional reform violations, see Quemado Institute commentary Ukraine Constitutional Reform: How Kiev Lies to the West (June 27).

Plotnitsky on Minsk: Ukraine’s Claims Are Brazen Lies. Both Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics Prime Ministers Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitsky have stated that the Kiev regime is lying about compliance with Minsk 2.0. “What Ukraine is now offering is fake, switching imitation of settlement for actual dialog,” notes Plotnitsky. “We will never agree with these decisions. We consider that Ukraine is deliberately ripping up the Minsk process. The blame for this falls entirely on Ukraine and its western sponsors.” See Fort Russ commentary Lugansk and Donetsk accuse Kiev of ripping up Minsk II (June 28), translated by Tom Winter.

Zakharchenko: Dnepropetrovsk, Odessa, Kharkov, Nikolayev, Kherson, Zaporozhye Are Sister Cities of Donetsk and Lugansk. In an address to the youth of Donbass, Donetsk People’s Republic Prime Minister Alexander Zakharchenko gave a stirring reminder of the necessity for unity in opposing the fascist oligarchics of Kiev. “When you raised up your voices against extremism, when you openly protested against their alien ideology, the criminal regime in Kiev declared war on our people,” emphasized Zakharchenko. “I urge you, the young people of the southeast, to cast aside all your fears, to unite your efforts, and present a united front against the occupation regime…. Be masters in your own land!” See Novorossia Today article Official message of Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Alexander Zakharchenko to the young people of the South-East of Ukraine (June 18).

Anti-Russian Sanctions May Cut 160,000 German Jobs. According to German expert Eckhard Cordes, the President of the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations, 160,000 jobs may be eliminated in Germany due to reduced trade with Russia, a picture much worse than anticipated. The German expert doubts that Brussels has chosen a right strategy with respect to Moscow, adding that “in 2015 Russia may drop to position 15 in the list of importers of German products, falling behind such countries as the Czech Republic and Sweden. German companies are paying the highest price in the European Union for the sanction policy against Russia.” For full story see Voice of Sevastopol report Expert: Shrinkage of Germany-Russia trade fraught with reduction of up to 160,000 jobs (June 26).

Merkel at Karlsruhe Conference: German-Russian Dialogue Needed. At the ongoing 13th Russia-Germany sister cities conference taking place at Karlsruhe in southwest Germany, Chancellor Angela Merkel stressed the necessity for taking every opportunity to establish an open dialogue with Russia, after receiving pressure from Ukraine peace activists. According to Sputnik, “The escalation of the ongoing Ukrainian conflict, further anti-Russian sanctions, US weapons supplies to Ukraine as well as the increase of NATO forces from 13,000 to 40,000 soldiers are the main factors driving German citizens in appeals of that kind.” See Hard Times in Russo-German Relations, Dialogue Needed – Merkel (June 28).

The guest list included such corporate giants as BP, Royal Dutch Shell, Total, Enel, Eni, Pirelli, Lloyds and Jack Ma, founder of Chinese Alibaba. “We are responding to the restrictions imposed from outside not by closing off our economy, but by expanding freedom and making Russia more open,” Russian President Vladimir Putin told the forum. Iskenderov quips in conclusion, “Not a bad outcome for a country that the United States and the European Union are trying to isolate!” For full detailed commentary, see St. Petersburg International Forum: Story of Great Success (June 28).

Poles Protest Against Kiev Near Ukrainian Embassy in Warsaw. Members of the Polish anti-fascist organization Komitet Ukraiński held a rally near the Ukraine Embassy in Warsaw on June 27 to protest Kiev’s actions against Donbass. Tomasz Jankowski, Chairman of the organization, emphasized that “European media are not informed about political killings in Kiev, where journalists and public figures who oppose the current Ukrainian government were murdered.” He adds, “The Minsk peace initiatives are deliberately torpedoed by the EU and the US that have turned a blind eye to the crimes committed by Kiev in Ukraine’s southeast.” For full Sputnik report, see Poles Protest Against Kiev’s Crimes in Donbass Near Ukrainian Embassy (June 28).

Burning Questions About American War Madness. Rhode Island resident Joe Clifford asks dozens of questions about why the United States wages bombing attacks across the globe as if beckoning the start of World war III, and answers none of them. This absence of answers is a statement in itself, carefully crafted by Clifford, and seldom better put. See Information Clearing House commentary Ignorance is Bliss; Until You Are Incinerated in a Nuclear Exchange (June 27), by Joe Clifford. Quemado Institute comments: We suspect Clifford gives no answers because he believes there are no answers. Anymore than there are answers as to why a madman flails his arms when his straightjacket is removed. Washington has entered into a heretofore unprecedented phenomenological state of civilizational lynch mob mentality never quite attained by ancient Rome. What we are seeing is a new historical manifestation of aberrant mass human behavior fueled by the largest military, economic and political organic conglomerate ever to have evolved on Earth. It is a shocking emergence as yet unexplained.

Poroshenko Retracts Airport Recapture Vow. On May 11, Ukraine’s presidential press service published a statement by Kiev regime leader Petro Poroshenko saying Kiev intends to recapture the Donetsk airport from the militia forces. Now, Poroshenko has retracted that statement. According to Tass (May 14), “In an interview with German ZDF TV channel, Poroshenko said: ‘I advise you not to read Russian newspapers. They are the only source where you can find such nonsense.'” Editor’s note: presumably the retraction was in response to US Secretary of State John Kerry’s surprising condemnation of the remark. Will this bring peace to civilian districts near the airport, where shelling has continued almost unabated?

They used mortar-guns 17 times, artillery – six times, tanks – eight times, anti-aircraft guns – twice, APCs – once, ATGMs – four times, and grenade launchers and small arms – five times. Ukrainian Army fired on 12 cities and towns, but it is not clear if there were civilian casualties or infrastructure damage. They attacked Krasniy Oktyabr, Zaichenko, Shirokino, Zheleznaya Balka, Grigorovka, Spartak, Kalinovka, Novaya Maryevka, Zhabichevo and Donetsk (Volvo Center, the Donetsk airport, Oktyabrskaya coal mine). Hollande denounces ‘unacceptable’ violations of Ukraine ceasefire / AsiaOne / May 14, 2015. AACHEN, Germany – France’s President Francois Hollande on Thursday denounced as “unacceptable” ceasefire violations in eastern Ukraine, after speaking briefly with his Ukrainian counterpart Petro Poroshenko in Germany. “There are ceasefire violations today and that’s unacceptable,” Hollande told reporters, adding that “there is a risk of fresh unrest and we need to warn them of that”. Some of these “groups have an interest in making this conflict last and we know which groups these are easily,” he said, without giving further details when asked about the violations. At the same time, Hollande said he also reminded Poroshenko that Kiev also needs to “respect a certain number of conditions”. The French president added that during his impromptu conversation lasting 15 minutes with Poroshenko, the two leaders discussed the implementation of the Minsk truce accord. He also stressed that France wanted to see the Minsk deal implemented in full. NDS Editor’s note: Hollande did not clarify which “groups have an interest in making this conflict last.” We hope he correctly refers to the rogue neo-Nazi battalions of Ukraine.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk paid a visit to Paris, where he held talks with the leadership of France. Afterwards when he spoke to the press, the French-speaking journalist of “Eurasia Express”, Sello Frederick, asked him two questions.

“Mr. Yatsenyuk, when will you stop the genocide of the Donbass?” asked Sello.
“At the time when Putin retreats, obeys the Minsk agreement, and respects international law. And when Russia is brought to justice,” said the head of the [Kiev] Cabinet.
“You have killed six to ten thousand people. You will continue?” the reporter asked in a further question.
“It is awful, when President Putin holds-wing politics [sic], killing innocent Ukrainians. He killed innocent Ukrainians, illegally annexed Crimea, and invaded the Donetsk and Lugansk [regions],” said Yatsenyuk. After that Sello tried to continue the dialogue with the prime minister, but he turned his attention to questions of other journalists. Paul Craig Roberts: Hell Unleashed. A May 13 commentary by the masterful American analyst includes a marvelous video of Russia’s Victory Day Parade. “This is what the arrogant morons who comprise the US government have stirred up,” says Roberts, later adding, “Warmongers control US foreign policy.” See full commentary with video at Information Clearinghouse.

John Kerry and Vladimir Putin

John Kerry and Vladimir Putin

Saker on Sochi: US and Kiev Not on Same Page. The Saker analyzes US Secretary of State John Kerry’s visit with Vladimir Putin and sergei Lavrov in Sochi, Russia, concluding that “the Americans have finally (!) figured out a few basic facts: Russia will not back down; Russia is ready for war; the Nazi-occupied Ukraine is collapsing; most of the world supports Russia; and the entire US policy towards Russia has failed. All of the above is rather obvious to any halfway competent observer, but for an Administration completely intoxicated with imperial hubris, crass ignorance and denial these are very, very painful realities to catch up with. However, denying them might, at the end of the day, get the USA nuked. As the expression goes, if you head is in the sand, your ass is in the air.” For Saker’s amusing, realistic, detailed and rather optimistic commentary, see Yet another huge diplomatic victory for Russia (May 13).
