slavjan25-17m Journalists and Observers under Ukrainian Fire; Civilian Bus Shelled; Nazis Destroy Russian Books, Orthodox icons / By Irina Burya / Novorossia Vision / January 26, 2017 / After the election of Donald Trump the president of the United States, Kiev authorities are in panic, fearing to lose the US support. With every passing day, they are running out of time before a meeting of the leaders of Russia and the United States, where, in particular, the Ukrainian issue will be discussed, so they are multiplying efforts to draw attention to themselves as the victims of the «Russian aggression». Last week, on the border with Crimea, repeated missile exercises were carried out in the hope that Russia would down launched missiles. All over Ukraine, there was held the action «Stop war. Stop Putin», which even in Kiev did not gather more than 50 demonstrators and the same amount of journalists. The SBU claims preventing the assassination of an adviser to the Minister of the Interior, organized, of course, by ‘the Russian special services’, after which the President of Ukraine Poroshenko publicly calls Russia ‘the center of world terrorism’. In Donbass, Kiev is also doing everything possible to provoke the Army of the Republic to return fire. The Ukrainian military openly publish video of such provocations in the web. Last week began in Donbass with over a thousand daily attacks on the part of Ukraine, and ended with the same number of them. The only day of relative calm was January 19, when in Donbass arrived the deputy head of the OSCE mission, Alexander Hug, with the next visit. But the next day, his presence did no longer stop the Ukrainian military, and every day the number of attacks increased significantly. In just a week, according to the DPR . . . READ MORE>>

Donetsk Defense: Situation Report, 25.01.2017 / DONi News / January 25, 2017 / The situation in the Donetsk People’s Republic remains tense. Over the past day Ukraine’s criminal forces violated ceasefire 424 times. At that the enemy launched onto the Republic’s territory 113 artillery projectiles, including 10 of 152mm calibre, 131 mortar shells of various calibre, including 137 of 120mm calibre, and 166 ammos from grenade launchers of various types. Besides, IFVs and small arms were used for shelling. The following Republic’s localities underwent shellings under commanders of the 53rd, 72nd, 92nd separate mechanized brigades of the AFU Gruzevitch, Sololov, Nikolyuk, commander of the 55th artillery brigade Brusov, commander of the 36th marine brigade Delyatitsky and commander of the 25th airborne brigade Zenchenko: Zaitsevo, Zheleznaya Balka, Yasinovataya, Krutaya Balka, Vesyoloye, Spartak, Aleksandrovka, Signalnoye, Dokuchayevsk, Starolaspa, Sakhanka, the area of the Airport and Trudovskiye locality of the Petrovsky district of Donetsk. The AFU shellings caused damage to 11 houses in such localities as Zaitsevo, Yelenovka, Nikolayevka and Krutaya Balka. I would like to note that the greatest concentration of artillery fire launched by Ukrainian fighters was targeting the area of Yasinovatya locality, in close proximity to the Donetsk filtration station. Fortunately, the critical infrastructure object sustained no damage and continues operating in a regular way. All the facts of crimes committed by the Ukrainian command were recorded by the DPR investigation team and will be passed to the commission on investigation of the AFU crimes and OSCE Mission’s representatives.

Our reconnaissance continues operating and established the fact of arrival of 800 nationalists from Donbass battalion to the vicinities of Mariupol, for actualizing political actions and provocations near checkpoints, and carrying out cleansings in localities adjacent to the demarcation line. Besides, reconnaissance elicited the facts of noncombat losses in the 72nd brigade’s units. So, only for the past days in this brigade died two soldiers. One was shot by his fellow-in-arms ague near Avdeyevka locality, when having opened fire at a congestion of military personnel drinking alcohol at the positions. The second fighter of the Ukrainian army committed a suicide, having used a companion’s automatic machine gun because his weapon had been confiscated from him the day before. In addition, because of frequent cases of violation of military discipline and low level of moral and psychological state, to the area of Chasov Yar locality, to the 53rd brigade’s units, there arrived an inspection from the ‘ATO’ headquarters. Notably, the commission’s activity is directed to check the brigade’s leadership and command staff because of their complete standoffishness from solving their subordinates’ problems. The same devil-may-care attitude to subordinates was noticed on the part of the command staff of the 501st battalion of the 36th brigade where military personnel complain of the low level of food supply and ask volunteer organizations for help. Our units, in their turn, are practically, theoretically and psychologically ready to any attack by the Ukrainian side. For readiness maintenance, in the units there are held trainings directed to coordination of platoons with firing practice from small arms, tanks and IFV. OSCE warns against threat of chemical pollution in Donbas / Unian.info / January 22, 2017 / Donetsk regions is facing a threat of chemical pollution as phenol waste storage facilities are close to the frontline, according to the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) to Ukraine. “Chemical waste storage of a phenol plant in government-controlled Novhorodske caught between positions of the sides only 400m apart,” OSCE SMM tweeted with reference to Alexander Hug, the OSCE SMM’s Principal Deputy Chief Monitor. Hug says that in the worst-case scenario, the entire Donetsk region could be polluted. “A ceasefire and disengagement [are] needed in this area!” he said. Phenol, also known as carbolic acid, is an important industrial commodity as a precursor to many materials and useful compounds. It is primarily used to synthesize plastics and related materials. Phenol and its chemical derivatives are essential for production of polycarbonates, epoxies, Bakelite, nylon, detergents, herbicides such as phenoxy herbicides, and numerous pharmaceutical drugs. As UNIAN reported earlier, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Austria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sebastian Kurz spoke out for the extension of working hours to the evening and night for the OSCE SMM in Donbas. Ukraine runs out of money to build wall on Russian border / Russia Beyond the Headlines / January 20, 2017 / The proposed Ukrainian border wall with Russia, which later was nicknamed the ‘European Wall,’ has been halted due to a lack of financing, reported (in Russian) the Ukrainian news agency, UNIAN, citing Yulia Svetlichnaya, a representative of the Kharkov Region administration. “There is no funding for this project, so as far as I know it has stopped on the territory of the Kharkov Region,” the agency quoted Svetlichnya when she spoke at a local press conference on Jan. 19. She added that the local administration now only maintains those fortifications that were built earlier. Up to 4 billion hryvnia (about $160 million) had been allocated for this project until 2018. 1,200 miles of border According to Ukraine’s State Border Service, the border with the Russian Federation measures 1,426 miles long. The idea to reinforce the border was first proposed in September 2014 by then Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk. The first stage of the plan envisaged beginning work immediately with that part of the border outside the conflict zone – in the Chernigov, Sumy, and Kharkov regions, as well as the north of the Lugansk Region. Almost 1,200 miles of the border with Russia was to be equipped with anti-tank ditches, observation towers and signaling systems, as well as fortified stations for border guards. It was also planned to build 17-meter high observation towers, video surveillance systems, communication towers, combat remote control modules, and surveillance posts. On sea, it was proposed to establish complete electronic optical surveillance.

slavjan22-17qMH17: In Defence of Spekkers, Attention, My Reaction, and on… / By Graham Phillips / The TruthSpeaker / January 13, 2017 / I was pretty strong in criticism of Dutch journalist Michel Spekkers for taking parts from the MH17 site, despite Spekkers being a colleague, and friend. However, as I go to write this, one Jeroen Akkermans has been tweeting, criticising Russia for their reaction, in support of Spekkers, and his colleague, Beck. The same Akkermans (pictured) who is, in no small part, responsible for the situation we have today, which has unfolded into quite the mess, with Dutch police confiscating not only MH17 items from Spekkers and Beck, but also all their equipment, memory cards, phones the whole kit and caboodle. When Akkermans waltzed off in November 2014 with parts of what was later claimed, by an unofficial investigation, to be a BUK rocket, he walked back to a hero’s reception in the Netherlands, and western media. Hailed across the world as the ‘man who solved MH17’, no one really stopped to ask some key questions – Why hadn’t he notified the investigation of his findings, before taking them? When did it become ok for journalists to take it upon themselves to remove parts from crash sites, and submit them to their own investigations? These ‘magic’ ‘BUK’ parts, that Akkermans ‘chanced up’, unseen by the hundreds of investigators, and journalists (including myself) who’d spent extensive time on the site before that? Fast forward to January of 2017, and Dutch freelance journalists Michel Spekkers, and Stefan Beck visit Donbass for a week of reportage, which includes Spekkers visiting the MH17 site. There, he removed parts, including likely human . . . READ MORE>>

You’re Out of Order! Why Kiev Has No Chance to Win Its ICJ Dispute With Moscow / Sputnik / January 22, 2017 / Last week, Ukraine filed a suit in the International Court of Justice in The Hague, claiming Russia had violated two international conventions – one on combatting the financing of terrorism, and another on the elimination of racial discrimination. Political and legal experts consider whether Kiev has any chance of actually winning the case. Last Monday, Kiev accused Moscow of violating the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism, claiming that Russia was supplying weapons and other forms of assistance to pro-independence militias in Ukraine’s Donbass, and filed a suit against Russia with the International Criminal Court. Eastern Ukraine turned into a warzone in April 2014, when Kiev sent the military to quell independence and autonomy-supporting protesters who were dissatisfied with authorities that came to power as the result of the Maidan coup d’état in February 2014. Ukrainian authorities have since repeatedly accused Russia of intervening in the conflict, but have yet to provide any substantial evidence. On Monday Kiev also accused Moscow of violating the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, saying that Russia has “engag[ed] in a campaign of discrimination against non-Russian communities living in the occupied Crimean Peninsula, including, in particular, the ethnic Ukrainian and Tatar communities.” These alleged violations were too were added . . . slavjan22-17uEuropeans Concerned US Troops’ Arrival in Poland Could Fuel Revanchism in Warsaw / Sputnik / January 22, 2017 / Earlier this month, when the US sent a fully armed and equipped brigade of troops into Poland, Defense Minister Antoni Macierewicz euphorically declared that the European order established at Yalta after WWII was over. Unfortunately, according to independent Norwegian journalist Pal Steigan, the move also threatens to fuel Polish revanchism. Last week, thousands of US troops crossed into Poland from Germany as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve, the largest deployment of US forces to Europe since the end of the Cold War. Equipped with tanks, trucks, infantry fighting vehicles, mobile artillery and Humvees, the troops are part of an estimated 7,000 US and NATO troops expected to be stationed in the Eastern European country, in a decision that was agreed to at the NATO summit in Warsaw last July. Unfortunately, according to independent political writer Pal Steigan, “while it’s possible that US military leaders and politicians may see this as a victory, for Poland’s neighbors its bad news.” slavjan22-17tPoland, the analyst explained, is a country with a complicated and difficult history, a kind of “country on wheels that has been pushed hither and thither in the struggle between the great powers” in centuries past. A great European power in its own right at some points in its history, the country was wiped off the map at others. In the 20th century, after the Yalta Conference and the end of the Second World War, Poland was effectively pushed west by the Soviet Union, with its eastern borderlands, or ‘Kresy’ absorbed into the Ukrainian, Belarusian and Lithuanian Soviet republics. In exchange, Warsaw received formerly German territories in the West as compensation. Steigan noted that as a consequence of this tumultuous history, Poland today is home to “strong revanchist forces, and although their rhetoric and hateful language is directed toward Russia, it’s not Russia, but neighboring countries that would have problems if Poland seriously begin to revise Yalta.” “Polish nationalists – both those in the government and from the ultra-right, dream of a Greater Poland stretching from the Baltic to the Black Sea. slavjan22-17rThe Coup Against Trump and Why Russia ‘Must Be Destroyed’ / Sputnik / January 22, 2017 / Delenda est Cathargo (“Carthage must be destroyed”) are words that come down to us from ancient history. It is said they were spoken by the famed Roman statesman and orator Cato the Elder at the end of his speeches. They remain relevant today in the case of Trump, Russia and a Washington establishment that is intent on destroying both. The Rome of our time is Washington, Russia is Carthage, and today’s Cato the Elder is none other than US Senator John McCain, whose quest for conflict with Russia is unbounded. Indeed for Mr. McCain the belief that Russia must be destroyed has been elevated to the status of a self evident and received truth. Origins of the ‘Dodgy Dossier’: It was McCain who passed the “dodgy dossier” on Trump to the FBI, after receiving it from former UK ambassador to Russia, Sir Andrew Wood. Contained within the dossier is information purporting to reveal how Trump has been compromised by Russian intelligence over various sexual encounters with prostitutes in a Moscow hotel room. Compounding the scandal, adding to the lurid nature of it, are reports of the existence of a second Russian dossier on the President-elect. The dossier’s originator has been revealed as former British MI6 intelligence officer Christopher Steele, who now runs a private intelligence company and has, according to reports, gone into hiding in the UK, supposedly fearing assassination by Russian agents. The fact that Mr. Steele hasn’t set foot in Russia for a number of years and reportedly, on behalf of Trump’s enemies within the Republican Party establishment, paid for the information contained in the 35-page dossier, recently released with the caveat that its contents . . . On Saturday the Europe of Nations and Freedom (ENF), a Eurosceptic European Parliament group of parties, held a conference in the German city of Koblenz. Leaders of several of the EU’s leading Eurosceptic parties addressed the forum, including Freuke Petry of Alternative for Germany, Geert Wilders of the Dutch Party for Freedom, Matteo Salvini of Italy’s Northern League and National Front leader Marine Le Pen. One of the meeting’s main organizers, Alternative for Germany politician Hans Pretzell, told Sputnik Deutschland that the summit was a successful “presentation of what we are about.” The participants “are in great agreement that we need more freedom for nation states, we need self-determination and we need less from the EU,’ Pretzell said. 2017 is an important year for all the parties in attendance, Pretzell explained. “Geert Wilders has elections in March, Marine Le Pen follows in April, in Germany there are three regional elections and then the Bundestag election in the autumn. It is possible that there will also be elections in Italy very soon,” he said. slavjan22-17yChina, the Great Game, and Globalism / By Alexander Dugin / Katehon.com / January 20, 2017 / Trump is departing from classical geopolitics founded on the confrontation of Land and Sea. It is on this framework that rested the Great Game between Russia and Britain in the 19th century as well as essentially all geopolitics of the 20th century – from Mackinder to the Cold War up to the purely Atlanticist, unipolar globalization which the American administration has been pursuing up to the last minute. This means that the China factor is changing its geopolitical status. The beginning of China’s Perestroika in the 1980’s was marked by a visit to Beijing by a Tripartite Commission delegation including Brzezinski and Kissinger. Their task was detaching China from the USSR once and for all, including it in the global capitalist system, encircling Eurasia, and closing the anaconda ring along the coastal zone. Afterwards, according to the plans of such globalists as Brzezinski and Kissinger who formed the Council on Foreign Relations and the Trilateral prototype of the World Government, the USSR would soon be broken up. In fact, the Russian branch of the Trilateral Commission, the academician Gvishiani’s Institute for Applied Systems Analysis whose task was breaking up the USSR from within, figured in the Trilateral Commission’s documents on the Chinese question. Chubais, Gaidar, and Berezovsky all came from here, and they fulfilled their assignments. But everything began with China. Why? Because China came under the tutelage of the World Government. 4th Political theory and Post-liberalism / Interview with Alexander Dugin / Katehon.com / January 17, 2017 / Anatoly Kuzichev: Good evening everyone, this is Radio Kuzichev. Today we have, roughly speaking in journalistic jargon, a mono-topic. And you know that it’s worth it. It’s worth dedicating an entire program to this topic because it is a serious topic and we, unlike our usual practice, don’t want to simply, so to say, bait interest, especially since as much as what our cinematography will allow in the context of what we are going to discuss is rather modest. Don’t be confused by the word “theory” in the title, because in fact this theory has direct relevance or will have direct relevance to our lives. This will be practice. This is such a fascinating paradox. Good evening, Katya. Ekaterina Arkalova: Good evening, dear listeners and viewers. Today an extremely interesting conversation awaits us on how in this brave new world of globalism, post-modernity, and post-liberalism, Russia’s future can be preserved by way of reconstructing traditions. Listen, watch, and write to rk@tsargrad.tv. This will be interesting. We have a whole hour.Kuzichev: Yes, a whole hour, thank you very much. I want to introduce our guest…Actually, let’s do it this way, with the topic first: the “Fourth Political Theory.” Our guest, of course, is Alexander Dugin, the editor-in-chief of Tsargrad, philosopher, PhD. Alexander Gelyevich, good evening. Alexander Dugin: Good evening. Kuzichev: I don’t know if it is possible and whether we even can, so to say, balance this fine line. On the one hand, I really want to talk about theory as theory – political, of course. But, on the other hand, I want, like Katya just said, people watching us now who are looking around and trying to find signs of post-modernism and neo-liberalism and who can’t, as a rule, find them in everyday life, to take away from our conversation an understanding of the processes underway. Can we? Dugin: We’ll try. Kuzichev: We’ll try. First, let’s agree on the terms. If there is a fourth political theory, then according to the philosophical rule of the negation of the negation, it’s obvious that it somehow negates the previous three. So maybe let’s hear a few words about the previous theories. Dugin: Yes, of course. This is necessary. In fact, if we closely examine the political and ideological results of the 20th century, then we see that in this century which ended not too long ago, three ideologies fought amongst each other. The first political theory which emerged earliest of all was liberalism, whose roots date back to the 18th century but which in the 20th century acquired full ideological embodiment… Kuzichev: So you’ll run through the names, and then… Dugin: Yes. There’s the liberal political theory, and the second arises as an antithesis – communism and socialism, all the versions of the leftist critique, which we call critical theory. This is left, communist, socialist ideology with all its nuances. The third political theory is overall nationalism or fascism, which attempted to provide a critique of the previous ones, liberalism and communism. All of these three political theories – liberalism, communism, and fascism – were locked in a life and death struggle in the 20th century. First liberalism and communism defeated fascism together, then, as we know, the Cold War . . . READ MORE>>

Detained Dutch journalists worked legitimately in Donetsk – Head of the DPR / DONi News / January 17, 2017 / The Head of Donetsk People’s Republic, Alexander Zakharchenko, gave a statement about two Dutch journalists, who were detained by Dutch police after working trip in Donbass. All materials and equipments, including findings and documents from the flight MH17 crash site, were confiscated by Dutch police. Questions to Zakharchenko were made by Vittorio Rangeloni, DONi International News Agency, on 14.1.2017. (see the video). Here is the full translation of the official statement. Question: “Alexander Vladimirivich, on New Year holidays a group of Dutch journalists arrived here and made a video material about the life in the DPR and the crush of the Malaysian Boeing as there were numerous causalities. They were in Grabovo. The official investigation is over and they took some fragments of the plane that they had found. As they came back to Netherlands they were taken into the custody and accused of violating the law. What can you say about it? And one more question. The officials not just arrested the journalists but confiscated the equipment, all the materials, cameras. How do you think, why did they do that and what is the reason of taking away the materials which are not connected with the Boeing crash?” Alexander Zakharchenko (The Head of Donetsk People’s Republic): Well, let’s start with your first question. In fact those journalists were working on our territory legitimately. They got all the permissions needed, accreditation, and they led the independent investigation of the Boeing crash. As it has already been mentioned and I’ll repeat it we are interested in objective and operational investigation of the incident that happened on our territory and resulted in Boeing crash and numerous causalities including children. The things that were discovered by the journalists shocked me deeply. Because despite the events took place several years ago, the fragments of the plane and bodies are still there. The DNA expertise took place and the man who died there was identified. It shows that official mission that was here investigating the case and had to collect the fragments of the plane, of the human bodies found in the place of the crash. They should have done it at that very moment they came here. But they didn’t. At that moment they could say that because of the fights the commission could not work properly. But now no fights are going on there. The territory is safe. The commission was obliged to come and collect all the material and make the truthful conclusion. But we see that the independent investigators came, collected the fragments of the bodies, came back to the Netherlands and were arrested. They confiscataed not just the fragments the journalists had collected but the equipment on which the interviews with the local people, testimony about how it happened materials. It proves that Europe is not interested in the publishing of the real results because it is sure and everyone know it, that the plane was downed by the Ukrainian side. And that’s why it arrests journalists and takes away their materials equipment and all the fragments that were found. And the second thing is that Europe is so democratic, and just imagine that in democratic Europe where the freedom of speech is so precious and is a part of the human rights of every European Union member, the independent journalists are arrested. Well, you know, to tell the truth, it proves that there are double standards in Europe and if it is profitable for Europe it claims that it is a democratic society and supports the freedom of speech. It concerns the accusations of Russia, accusations towards us, but when it comes to the EU allies, to the Europe itself they can just arrest everyone and took away all the materials, that’s all. In this case I can say the following: it’s good that they’ve arrested them, it’s good that Europeans are now aware of it, and that the body fragments were found. But it’s a crime and a tragedy that independent journalists who were working here legally, coming home and trying to show that the commission did nothing were arrested. It means that apart from the refugees who came to the Europe, the freedom of speech was stolen.

slavjan9-17sTrump and MH17: Just One Step Too Far? / By Christopher Black / The 4th Media / January 15, 2017 / The propaganda campaign by the NATO war alliance against Russia has several components. The newest elements are the surreal allegations being made by the Obama regime, suffering a fit of apoplexy over the victory of Donald Trump in the American elections, that Russia interfered in the elections, that President-elect Trump is a Russian agent, and that Russia is conducting a war against American “democracy.” The other components are that Russia invaded Ukraine and Crimea, massacres civilians in Syria, threatens hybrid war operations in the Baltic, threatens the German elections, threatens European “democracy” in general and is about to invade Europe. Each component is as egregious and absurd as the rest but one of the most vicious of these absurdities is the campaign directed against Russia concerning the downing of Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17 over east Ukraine on 17 July, 2014. The Americans were quick to blame the Donbass republic forces and Russia for the downing of the airliner, claiming, without any evidence, that the plane was shot down by a Buk anti-aircraft missile launcher from an area controlled by Donbass forces. Ignored was the fact that the Donbass had no such air defence system operational in that area and neither did Russia but the Kiev forces did. Also ignored was the eyewitness evidence of civilians on the ground who observed at least one Kiev Sukhoi 25 fighter jet ascend and approach the civilian airliner and that, immediately afterwards, the plane crashed. There were reports as well that a Spanish air traffic controller in Kiev, known as Carlos, sent out messages on Twitter contemporaneous with the shoot down, using the Twitter address @Spainbuca, that he observed this on his radar and overheard the pilot’s conversations with Kiev air traffic control confirming that the Ukraine jet shot down the plane. [QI Editor’s note: for a full translated transcript of Carlos @Spainbuca’s twitter feed, click here.] There are later reports that a Ukrainian pilot admitted he flew the plane that shot it down. Both these men have since disappeared from view. Remarkably, the investigating body has never followed up these important facts. They have never followed up the data provided by the Russian government as well as other technical information establishing that neither Donbass nor Russian forces were involved either deliberately or accidentally. Since the plane was downed in the Donbass territory of Donetsk, it would seem logical that the Donetsk Republic would have charge of the investigation and The Convention On International Civil Aviation states that the country in which the incident occurs is responsible for the investigation. But the Donetsk Republic was denied that role by the Kiev regime which claimed it took place in Ukraine territory and so assumed the role of investigator and then, under NATO, and especially American pressure, delegated the investigation to NATO, in the guise of the Dutch Safety Board, on the justification that the majority of the passengers were Dutch. Since then, what should have been an open, international and objective investigation has descended into a burlesque of . . . slavjan15-17zUkraine and the US: the Devious Plans of Two P’s / By Arina Tsukanova / Strategic Culture Foundation / January 14, 2017 / Ukraine is currently in limbo: it has lost the guidance of its American mentors (due to Hillary Clinton’s failure in the US presidential elections), Europe is busy with its own problems, and the past year has not brought Kiev any closer to its dream of a visa-free regime. The EU Association Agreement, for which the uprising in Ukraine began, has, firstly, not yielded the desired dividends and, secondly, because of the referendum in the Netherlands, has become cluttered with conditions that have made the European perspective on Ukraine illusory. A military conflict in Donbass has not been given the go-ahead. At the same time, the Kiev government is under time pressures: it has been three years since the uprising, but the political clans that came to power have nothing to offer to society, to its European partners or to America except a continuation of its ‘war with Russia’. While this war may have been highly desirable should Clinton have become president, things might be different with Trump. Hence the devious plans of the two P’s. P – Poroshenko: It recently became known that the administration of the Ukrainian president is paying the BGR-Group $50,000 a month to «strengthen US-Ukraine relations and to encourage American entrepreneurs to invest in Ukraine». Lobbyists at the BGR-Group will be working for Kiev to «design and implement a comprehensive government affairs and business development strategy», which will also focus on organising meetings with US officials. The Ukrainian government is hoping to increase US support and get US investors to invest in the Ukrainian economy. The sum of $50,000 is a monthly payment that does not include the cost of specific activities, for which the BGR-Group charges a lot of money. Local media immediately concluded that Poroshenko needs the lobbyists in order to beat a path to the new US president, Donald Trump. It’s not quite so black and white, however. One of the founders of the BGR-Group, Ed Rogers, who used to work in the administration of George Bush Senior, was part of the scandalous Never Trump campaign, which aimed to prevent Donald Trump getting into power. And in the run up to the US elections, Rogers, like many Ukrainian politicians, made a number of derogatory remarks about the then presidential candidate Donald Trump. Here, Rogers and representatives of the Ukrainian authorities may sing in harmony, but it remains an open question whether this singing will advance . . . READ MORE>>

Chaos In Nazi Ukraine Junta: Desertions, Alcohol Abuse, Criminal Bombing Of Civilian Areas Of Donetsk Republic (Report by Eduard Basurin) / Novorossia Today / January 9, 2017 / Over the past day, total madness by the Coup Leader of Ukraine Poroshenko and his Nazi henchmen as they attack and launch heavy weapons fire on civilian areas of Donetsk Republic. This all backed by the Obama regime and the green light to kill and wipe out the civilians of Donbass , this all ordered by the warmonger himself Senator McCain. Also it is important to stress, the world to know, the terrorist organization of NATO who have supplied weapons to the Nazi Ukraine Junta, lethal weapons and the order to kill all civilians of Donbass, this ordered by NATO Chief Stoltenberg as well. War crimes! As reported, the criminal forces of Ukraine violated the ceasefire 521 times, having launched on the territory of the Republic 4 tank shells, 64 82 and 120mm mortar shells and 316 shells from different types of grenade launchers. In addition, the enemy also used in the attack, Infantry fighting vehicles and small arms. slavjan10-17xPopov: Ukrainian offensive likely around Trump’s inauguration day / By Eduard Popov / Translated by J. Arnoldski for Fort Russ / January 10, 2017 / On January 8th, the deputy commander of the operational command of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Eduard Basurin, reported that Ukrainian security forces were preparing a provocation with possible casualties among the civilian population in the area of Marinka. Basurin stated: “We call on Ukrainian authorities to cease and not commit foolish and rash actions which will lead to new casualties, including among the civilian population. We also want to draw the attention of the OSCE mission and UN representatives to this fact and demand that measures be taken to prevent provocations from the UAF.” Earlier, another truce was supposed to enter into force on the night of December 23rd-24th, 2016. The events of the first hours of December 24th, however, showed that these expectations were not to be fulfilled. Observers in the field did, however, note a relative decline in the intensity of UAF shelling. The UAF provocation exposed by Eduard Basurin is a continuation and development of the Svetlodar adventure. In fairness, it should be added that the Ukrainians themselves never concealed their plans. They have repeatedly said that Minsk-2 is for them a tactical ploy and that the “Ukrainian liberators” will not leave the “separatists” in peace. Even their main target lines have been named: Debaltsevo (at the junction of the DPR and LPR), Stanitsa Luganskaya (LPR), and Marino-Shirokino (southern DPR). For the Ukrainians, provocations like the recent firefights near Svetlodar and the expected provocation near Marinko are part of a single plan of  . . . READ MORE>>

US ‘Selectively Quoting’ History to Justify Violations of State Sovereignty / Sputnik / January 10, 2017 / Russian Ambassador to the United Nations Vitaly Churkin said at a UN Security Council meeting says that the United States selectively picks and chooses events to justify its position on state sovereignty, but its brazen transgressions have contributed to catastrophes in several parts of the world. / UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) / The United States selectively picks and chooses events to justify its position on state sovereignty, but its brazen transgressions have contributed to catastrophes in several parts of the world, Russian Ambassador to the United Nations Vitaly Churkin said at a UN Security Council meeting on Tuesday. “It’s hard for us to get used to the US selectively quoting history. On the issue of sovereignty, we cannot but mention that the United States should be the one to blame for flagrant violations of sovereignty that led several regions of the world to a disaster that we have to deal with right now,” Churkin stated. The US intervention in Iraq not only destabilized the Middle East, but also gave birth to the Islamic State terror group, Churkin noted. Moreover, the US actions in Syria, but also in Libya, South Sudan and the Ukraine, contributed to a growing terrorist threat, Churkin said. The outgoing administration of President Barack Obama has been desperately searching for somebody to blame “for its failures in domestic and international policy,” Churkin added. Earlier at the UN Security Council meeting, US Ambassador to the United States Samantha Power said that state sovereignty cannot be used as an argument to prevent the United Nations from taking requisite actions in life-threatening crisis. Power offered Russia as an example for her claim, stating the country has violated Ukraine’s sovereignty in 2014 and then used its veto power at the UN Security Council to insulate itself from consequences. The topic of the Security Council meeting on Tuesday, presided by the Swedish Minister for foreign affairs Margot Wallsrtom, was the maintenance of international peace and security.

slavdec9-16wThe myth of the “Russian hacking personally led by Putin” contains and hides the true story: people themselves are now more and more forming their own minds on the social media and the Internet / By Vladimir Suchan / Logos Politicos / January 8, 2017 / If the “hacking story” is stripped of its misdirection noise, the bottom line is: Obama and the establishment are deeply upset that the “mainstream” corporate media have lost their hold on people’s minds and that people themselves began forming and molding their views on the social media by themselves. In other words, the true story is not about Russia or even about Putin (his personality cult is still being propped up by the media and the West). The true story is about what, several years ago, Brzezinski decried as the “unprecedented global awakening” of the people. Obama: “You have I think the clear example of how, if we’re not vigilant, foreign countries can have an impact on the political debate in the United States in ways that might not have been true 10, 20, 30 years ago … because so many people are skeptical of mainstream news organizations that everything’s true and everything’s false. …I think that I underestimated the degree to which, in this new information age, it is possible for misinformation, for cyberhacking and so forth to have an impact on our open societies, our open systems, to insinuate themselves into our democratic practices in ways that I think are accelerating.” [QI Editor’s note: Three videos are available at source: “CFR Meeting: Zbigniew Brzezinski Fears The Global Awakening”; “Zbigniew Brzezinski Still Admits The Global Political Awakening Proving Very Difficult For The Elite”; and “Zbigniew Brzezinski: Humanity’s Global Awakening Still Challenging The New World Order”.]

(Brief Update)

slavjan9-17tDonetsk Defense Situation Report 9.01.2017 / DONi News / January 9, 2017 / Over the past day Ukraine’s criminal forces violated ceasefire 521 times. At that the enemy launched onto the Republic’s territory three tanks rounds, 64 shells of 129mm and 82mm calibre, and 316 shells with various types of grenade launchers. Besides, IFVs and small arms were used for shelling. The following localities underwent shellings on the part of the Ukrainian terrorists at the order of the commanders of the 53rd, 72nd, 92nd separate mechanized AFU brigades Gruzevitch, Nikolyuk, Sokolov and the commander of the 36th marine brigade Delyatitsky: Zheleznaya Balka, Zaitsevo, Yasinovataya, Aleksandrovka, Luganskoye, Kominternovo, Leninskoye, Sakhanka, Dzerzhinskoye. Our intelligence continues registering strengthening of the AFU positions near the contact line: – Near Shumy (1 km away from the contact line) there were detected 11 armoured personnel carriers; – Near Maryinka (1 km away from the contact line) there were detected 30 mercenaries of a foreign private military company; – Near Travnevoye (1 km away from the contact line) there was detected the arrival and accommodation of the 46th AFU special purposes battalion’s personnel; – Near Kurakhovo (18 km away from the contact line) for holding cleansings there arrived about 300 Ukrainian State Security personnel; – Near Mirnoye (11 km away from the contact line) there was detected the arrival of four cargo vehicles with ammunition; – Near Chermalyk there were detected a sniper platoon’s personnel from the 501th separate marine brigade. We confirm the increase in the number of desertion cases in the AFU units after the latest holidays, and in connection with restrictions set by the ‘ATO’ command for granting compensatory holidays to military personnel for them to meet their friends and relatives. So, it was established that a soldier from the 2nd battalion of the 30th separate mechanized brigade self-willedally left the point of temporary dislocation with his individual weapon and set off to the Volnovakha area. According to his fellows-in-arms, the soldier was going to sell the weapon and ammunition so that to go home, to the central Ukraine, using the obtained money. Besides, there was established the fact of a soldier’s desertion from the 1st battalion of the 72nd separate mechanized brigade of the AFU. In this connection, the battalion’s personnel were forbidden to leave the base, what, in its turn, caused immoderate drinking on the unit’s territory. Due to such a situation, in the AFU units there was noted the arrival of the higher headquarters’ commissions for checking combat readiness and moral and psychological state. In their turn, the DPR People’s Militia units are continuously improving their level of combat readiness. This day was started the DPR People’s Militia units’ platoons coordination with the subsequent holding of control trainings, with performance of test exercises on driving and firing from small arms at proving grounds. —Vice-Commander of the DPR People’s Militia Eduard Basurin, official translation by DONi News Agency

slavjan9-17wMH17 Coverup: Netherlands Officials Detain Dutch Journalists, Confiscate Reports from Donbass / Quemado Institute / January 9, 2017 / Journalists Held, All Materials Seized, Despite No Law Violation / Introduction by Kennedy Applebaum / Two Dutch investigative journalists, Michel Spekkers and Stefan Beck, traveled to the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics this past week to investigate the crash site of the Malaysian Airlines Boeing 7777 Flight MH17. The passenger plane, having been directed over the war zone by Kiev air traffic controllers, was downed on July 17, 2014 near the border between the Donetsk and Lugansk Oblasts. Spekkers and Beck were accredited by the DPR and LPR and traveled freely in the area, talking to the local people. They were accompanied by well-known British video journalist Graham Phillips. Upon returning to Amsterdam after a week in Donbass, the two journalists were detained by Dutch officials and all of their notes and materials were seized. When they asked which law they were breaking, the officials refused to comment. This adds to the already massive evidence of the Dutch coverup of the cause of the MH17 crash. It is particularly noteworthy that Spekkers and Beck, who speak Russian, were free to talk with the local people, many of whom, as we know from videos and news reports, were eyewitnesses to one or more fighter jets having shot down the Boeing. slavjan9-17sDutch court blocks access to data gathered by independent journalists in Donbass / TASS / January 9, 2017 / The Dutch Journalists Union intervened, and several hours after the equipment had been confiscated, the court banned access to the data, according to one of the journalists. / THE HAGUE / A Dutch court has blocked police access to the data seized from independent journalists after their return from Ukraine’s troubled Donbass, one of the affected journalists, freelancer Michel Spekkers, told Tass on Monday. He said the Dutch Journalists Union intervened, and several hours after the equipment had been confiscated, the court banned access to the data. “That means they cannot access it anymore until judge orders them to do so,” he said. “But it is political, and you never know when it becomes political what they will or will not do. But I hope they will respect the law and I will get my data back,” he added. “But they had few hours when there was no court order and they still could have a look at it. I don’t know what happened within that timeframe,” he stated. Michel Spekkers and his colleague Stefan Beck spent nine days in Donbass. After their return home on January 7, Dutch law enforcement agencies detained both at the airport and confiscated all materials gathered on the MH17 crash, as well as cameras, cellphones and notebooks. “All of the material collected by Michel Spekkers and me about the MH17 crash in Donbass (Lugansk and Donetsk) and other material, for example street interviews, has been confiscated by the police upon arrival to the Netherlands,” Stefan Beck wrote on his Facebook page. On July 17, 2014, a Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 flight MH17 en route from the Dutch city of Amsterdam to the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur crashed in the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine. All the 283 passengers and 15 crew members, nationals from ten countries, died in the crash. Most passengers were Dutch nationals. Ukraine’s authorities and the militia of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic accused each other of the tragedy. Dutch authorities have been investigating the crash.

slavjan7-17xDonetsk Defense: Situation Report, 7.01.2017 / DONi News / January 7, 2017 / The criminal forces of Ukraine violated ceasefire 253 times over the past day. At that the enemy launched onto the Republic’s territory 28 artillery projectiles of 122mm and 152mm calibre, 69 mortars shells of 82mm and 120mm calibre, and 90 shells from various types of grenade launchers. Besides, IFVs and small arms were used for shelling. The following Republic’s localities underwent shellings on the part of Ukrainian criminal forces led by the commanders of the 53rd, 72nd, 92nd separate mechanized brigades Gruzevitch, Nikolyuk, Sokolov and the commander of the 36th marine infantry brigade Delyatitsky: Shirokaya Balka, Zaitsevo, Zhabichevo, Spartak, Aleksandrovka, Sakhanka, Leninskoye, Kominternovo, Dzerzhinskoye, Oktyabr. Four residential houses were damaged by shellings in Kulikovo locality. By a lucky chance, it was managed to avoid casualties among the civilian population. The locality was left without power and gas supply. Besides, the damage of power lines near Sakhanka locality cut off power supply to Sergeyevka locality. Nevertheless, our intelligence detected reduction of artillery ammunition stocks in the AFU units. In this connection the ‘ATO’ command introduced a restriction regime for heavy weapons’ application which is implemented by setting a daily limit of the applied ammunition for each military unit. According to our data, strategic stocks in the AFU warehouses are running out of . . . READ MORE>>

slavjan7-17zFrom anti-Maidan protests to Donbass war – Journey of a model becoming a war reporter, and future of her motherland / DONi Press / January 6, 2017 / Some people asked me who is Katya, as I work and mention her often in my reports and articles. So I have decided two months ago to make an interview of her, which I publish today. I let you discover her story, how her personal life was completely changed by the Maidan events, and how she sees the future of her motherland. / Hello Katya, can you present yourself? Hello, my name is Katya Katina, I am a DPR (Donetsk People’s Republic) citizen and now I work as a reporter, as a journalist, in News Front. It is a Russian information agency, and I am working for them since more than two years, from the very beginning of the military actions here in Donbass. What was your job before the war? Well, before the war I had a very peaceful and creative profession. I worked as a model. I played in small musical videos, and films even, and nothing dealing with war, nothing dealing with military actions at all. How can someone get from being a model to being a war journalist? That is quite a huge job change. What motivated you to do that change? I think I had no other choice, because the war, all this military conflict, came to my Motherland, and of course I could not stay behind and hide from it. Because it is my Motherland, it is my native city, I like it very much, and when I saw these events in Maidan started, it was in November 2013, and I remember that I had some inner feeling that this disaster, I thought it is a disaster, could somehow influence my life. And when all theses actions started, all these protests against Nazis, against Bandera, and everything, of course I participated in it, in all these actions, in all these events. So, I was an activist firstly, just on the barricades, in all the meetings, participating everywhere. And when all these shellings started I decided to change of profession and become a journalist. And it was accidentally. One friend of mine just met me near this administration building, and he asked “Kate, maybe it is interesting for you to become a journalist, because we need one”. I thought “Ok, maybe, why not”, and actually from the 1st of June 2014, I became a journalist. Firstly I was a stringer, then I was a usual correspondent and journalist, and now I am also the head of the News Front office here in DPR. You said you participated to the protests here in 2014. So you were an activist. Why did you participate to these protests, to the barricades, and to the assault against this administration building, which was taken early April 2014? Was it because you were some kind of a Kremlin agent paid by Putin? [Katya laughs] Well, unfortunately not. I am not a Kremlin agent. Maybe someone thinks like that but no. I was just not indifferent from my childhood. I was brought up with the ideals of the Great Patriotic War. All my grand-fathers participated in this war, they were heroes, they were rewarded. And I was brought up with this love for our Motherland, this patriotic feeling. And when we saw this Maidan craziness, all these bastards in masks telling . . . US Inclusion in Normandy Format Should Be Deliberated After Inauguration / Sputnik / January 6, 2017 / MOSCOW / Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigoriy Karasin said that there are no plans on foreign ministerial-level talks between Russia, France, Germany and Ukraine on the conflict in southeastern Ukraine planned for early 2017. US President-elect Donald Trump and his team need to take office on January 20 before considering the possibility of including the United States in the Ukraine conflict settlement process, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin said Friday. “Let us wait for the end of January, when the new administration will arrive. We are open for cooperation, the president has said that. The form, meaning and rhythm will be prompted by real life, which will begin after the holidays with the arrival of the new administration,” Karasin told RIA Novosti. The expansion of the so-called Normandy format that includes Russia, Germany, France and the Ukraine, has been proposed and discussed throughout 2016. Russian President Vladimir Putin said last October that Moscow does not oppose the inclusion of countries including the United States into the so-called Normandy quartet. Karasin also stated that there are no foreign ministerial-level talks between Russia, France, Germany and Ukraine on the conflict in southeastern Ukraine planned for early 2017. “There is intensive work at the level of presidential assistants over the phone. They are exchanging projects, ‘road maps’ all the time. We are closely following this, engaging in part. But there are no specific dates for meetings,” Karasin told RIA Novosti.

Acting US President wtih John McCain

Acting US President (left) wtih John McCain

McCain’s Largely Unreported Treachery Against the US / By Wayne Madsen / Strategic Culture Foundation / January 6, 2017 / Arizona’s recently re-elected Republican senator John McCain, along with his faithful «drama queen» accomplice South Carolina senator Lindsey Graham, recently met with a contingent of Ukrainian troops at a «forward combat zone» in Shyrokyne in eastern Ukraine and publicly questioned president-elect Donald Trump’s plans to defrost America’s chilly relations with Russia. For McCain, his return to his personal war front in Ukraine came three years after he stood with Ukrainian neo-Nazis and fascists on Kiev’s Maidan Square calling for the ouster of president Viktor Yanukovych. Meanwhile, McCain, Graham, and their neo-conservative allies within the Republican and Democratic parties, as well as press outlets like The Washington Post, have questioned Trump’s ultimate loyalty to the United States. The neocons’ angst arises from their anger over the incoming president wisely doubting the efficacy of Central Intelligence Agency «intelligence» linking Russia to a spate of computer penetrations of U.S. computer systems and networks, including pre-election hacks of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and private email of Hillary Clinton’s top campaign officials. After President Obama expelled 35 Russian diplomats from Washington, DC and San Francisco and shut down two Russian diplomatic compounds in Maryland and New York in retaliation for unproven . . . The Coup Against Truth — By Paul Craig Roberts / Paul Craig Roberts official home page / January 5, 2017 / Ridicule is effective, and nothing deserves ridicule more than the Washington Post, New York, Times, CNN, and the rest of the presstitutes who pretend to be real journalists. But as I have emphasized, and other real journalists, such as Glenn Greenwald imply, the fake news recklessly promoted by the presstitutes brings with it the threat of thermo-nuclear war. For several years Russia and her president have experienced endless demonization. The Russians know that Georgia’s invasion of South Ossetia (done while Putin was at the Beijing Olympics) was a Washington provocation. The Russians know that Washington’s coup in Ukraine (done while Putin was at the Sochi Olympics) was a provocation aimed at seizing Russia’s Black Sea naval base in Crimea and cutting Russia off from the Mediterranean. The Russians know that Washington knows that the charges that Russia hacked Hillary’s emails and the US presidential election are lies. slavjan6-17xNew York Times Continues Lying About Ukraine / By Eric Zuesse / Strategic Culture Foundation / January 2, 2016 / he New York Times’s hiding — for nearly three years after this massively important historical event — the U.S.-imposed bloody coup that occurred in Ukraine during February 2014, makes the Times’s hiding of it from the public, become by now no longer merely egregious ‘news’-reporting, but finally lying about history: it’s an egregious lie about a major event of recent world history — a worse lie as each year passes without the Times’s acknowledgment that they had been hiding it from their readers, all along; hiding the news, until it became history — a lie which is harder to extricate themselves from, as each year passes and as this event becomes more and more important, because it accumulates more and more consequences, all of which arebad. So: when will the NYT finally come out publicly acknowledging that the coup existed — that it was a «coup», and no ‘revolution’ (such as they’ve falsely claimed it to have been, and still refer to it)? Will it remain unstated (to have been a coup), until decades later? This was historically a very important event, because it directly precipitated America’s pretext for openly restoring the Cold War — 25 years after the 1991 end of the Soviet Union, and of its Warsaw Pact military alliance, and of their communism. The U.S. sanctions against Russia, and NATO’s pouring troops and weapons onto and near Russia’s borders, were hostile U.S. and European acts carried out under the shoddy pretext of . . . READ MORE>>

slavdec9-16wRussian anti-Russian Oligarchy and the Kremlin Is an Anti-Dote and Anti-Thesis to Social Justice, and That’s Bad News for Donbass and Novorossiya as well as Russia itself and for Everyone Else except the Nazis and the Fascists / By Vladimir Suchan / Logos Politicos / January 2, 2016 / In response to the fascist and anti-Russian Maidan and its regime change in Ukraine, many people in Ukraine, and especially in Donbass and South-Eastern Ukraine, either rose up or were ready to rise up and stand for: 1) social justice (and hence also against oligarchs, especially pro-fascist ones) that is for a social and political revolution; 2) anti-fascist patriotism, thus for a political revolution against intensified and now even reigning Nazification of the state and society; 3) anti-fascist solidarity and brotherhood of the Russian and the Ukrainian people for anti-Russian Ukrainian nationalism is fundamentally also anti-Ukrainian; it turns a brother into one’s own brother’s murderer and into a beast; 4) civilizational, political, economic, moral, and cultural renaissance of the country and its system, that is against the country’s and society’s civilizational, political, moral and cultural degradation, corruption, decay and demise. However, it has been quickly and very sadly confirmed and proven that today’s Russia under the rule of the corrupt Putinist mafia oligarchs is the anti-thesis of social justice, completely alien and hostile to social justice and, therefore, fundamentally reactionary and, therefore, in its class interests, “partners” (both in business and crime) with the Banderite anti-Russian oligarchs. In terms of social justice, the Kremlin and Russian oligarchy has nothing to offer, only fundamental enmity, hostility and decisive prejudice. That’s also why Moscow rushed in to preserve and even aggravate oligarchic and mafia abuse in Donbass and also rushed in with gas discounts and bank credits to the ATO and the Ukrainian fascist regime. Thus in terms of social justice, the Kremlin has nothing to offer to the Ukrainians and the Russian people of Ukraine–only the faux, fraudulent Putin’s personality cult, that is, not even the limited social mobility which the fascist Maidan provided to its defenders, militants and believers. With respect to anti-fascism, the Kremlin also rushed in very early on to throw . . . READ MORE>>

Donetsk Situation Report, 04.01.2017 / Novorossia Vision / January 4, 2017 / Over the past day, the Ukrainian military violated the ceasefire 1,233 times, having launched on the territory of the Republic 125 82 and 120mm mortar shells and 1,010 shells from grenade launchers of different types. In addition, the enemy used in the shelling infantry fighting vehicles and small arms. The Ukrainian terrorists, on the orders of the commanders of the 53rd, 72nd and 92nd separate mechanized brigades of the AFU, Gruzevich, Nikolyuk, Sokolov, and the commander of the 36th Marine brigade, Delyatitsky, shelled the following localities of the Republic: Zaytsevo, Gorlovka, Zheleznaya Balka, Yasinovataya, Krutaya Balka, Zhabichevo, Alexandrovka, Kominternovo, Sakhanka, Leninskoye and Trudovskiye in the Petrovsky district of Donetsk city. Our intelligence continues to record the strengtheningg of the AFU positions near the contact line. In Novosyolovka Vtoraya (3 km away from the contact line), there were detected three 120mm mortars; In Granitnoye (0.5 km away from the contact line), there was detected the arrival of three tanks; In Vodyanoye (4 km away from the contact line), there were detected three 120mm mortars. The data about the Minsk Agreements violations were passed to representatives of the JCCC and the OSCE mission. We also found the fact of the arrival of two groups of a separate unit to combat underwater sabotage forces and means of the Ukrainian Navy in the territory of the Mariupol shipyard. The commander of the group «Mariupol», Colonel Moskalyov, set the task to the unit commander to carry out acts of sabotage on the southern borders of the Republic. The commander refused to carry out the task beyond his unit’s purposes and endanger the lives of civilians. Thus, to carry out acts of sabotage and provocations along the contact line and due to the reluctance of the personnel of the units required to implement these tasks, the Ukrainian military command attracts the military personnel for whom such tasks are uncharacteristic. In our turn, I would like to say that the DPR People’s Militia complies with the peace agreements reached in Minsk, despite repeated provocation from the Ukrainian military. Our units are continuously alert, carry out activities on combat training and are ready, if necessary, to repel any provocations and aggression on the part of the Ukrainian punishers. —Vice-Commander of the DPR Defense Ministry operative command Donetsk,Colonel Eduard Basurin

War, and Information War / By Graham Phillips / The TruthSpeaker / January 4, 2017 / I’ve been covering the situation in Donbass for 3 years now, and on December 22nd, returned from covering war in the trenches by Debaltsevo to find that those sitting thousands of kilometres away in cases, from their laptops, had decided to launch the latest fusilade of the information war at me. It started with Bild journalist Julian Röpcke. a long-time critic of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, quickly coming out with the tweet that I’d ‘exposed positions of the Russian army‘, as he referred to them. I’d add that I found out about this through the back door, as despite limited interaction ever, Julian long ago blocked me from following his tweets, for some reason. At least Julian, who, reading his tweets, seems to have a pathological hatred for Russia, admitted in a subsequent tweet, the intention behind this – to try to cause problems for me. This is a reference to the Russian state-owned tv channel Zvezda having done a story, simply stating facts, that Ropcke had claimed I’d ‘revealed positions’. There’s no indication that this represents any such sentiments, from the ‘Russian military’, however I’d add that the article was also written without any attempt to defend me, and nor do I expect any special treatment from the Russian, or any, media. As for Julian, I’m not sure what war he thinks he’s actually reporting on here. He’s certainly not been to Donbass for a long time, and never covered conflict here. But, from a desk at Bild in Berlin, he’s more than happy . . . READ MORE>>

Lindsay Graham, John McCain (--Politicao/AP/Scott Applewhite)

Lindsay Graham, John McCain (–AP/Scott Applewhite)

Happy New Year Donbass: From Killer John McCain & Co. / By Phil Butler / New Eastern Outlook / January 4, 2017 / On New Year’s Eve America’s two most famous warmongers, US Senators John McCain (R-AZ) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) visited the troops of Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko in Mariupol overlooking the battle lines with self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s. Then scant minutes after the American dignitary’s departure, the soldiers they promised aid and support to opened fire. Breaking the Minsk imposed truce for the hundredth time, the so-called “UKROPS” began shelling areas of the Donbass. McCain, some will recall, was the top US cheerleader for the Maidan coup that unseated the standing Ukraine government and started the civil war that led to current west-east tensions. Now, with the Syria asymmetrical strategies thwarted, the Pentagon’s chief evangelist is back in Ukraine proclaiming the intentions of the military industrial complex he and Graham represent. What is most striking about McCain in Ukraine at this moment, is the clearly desperate nature of his visit. This can be gleaned from watching this video segment of his speech from the square in Mariupol to the Ukraine people and the troops in the trenches. McCain showed the true hand of the players behind this civil war and others in this speech. He said, in part: “In 2017 we will defeat the invaders and send them back to where they came from.” The US Senator went on to address Russian President Vladimir Putin directly saying; “You will never defeat the Ukrainian people and deprive them of their independence and freedom.” He had sworn to provide Poroshenko’s troops whatever is necessary to defeat those in East Ukraine, in his visit to the bunker on the front lines already. The significance of the Arizona senator’s promises cannot be underestimated here, as the Minsk accords call for a strictly peaceful settlement, military victories having no place in the potential accord. McCain, his colleague Graham, and their constituents in Congress have done everything in their power to not only fund and promote ongoing conflict in the world, but they’ve joined the Obama administration in doing everything humanly possible to tie the hands of the incoming president. McCain, on behalf of the defense corporations that have supported him and Graham for decades now, is dead set on a war on . . . READ MORE>>

US sends 3,600 tanks against Russia, Massive NATO deployment underway / DONi News / January 4, 2017 / The NATO war preparation against Russia, ‘Operation Atlantic Resolve‘, is in full swing. 2,000 US tanks will be sent in coming days from Germany to Eastern Europe, and 1,600 US tanks is deployed to storage facilities in the Netherlands. At the same time, NATO countries are sending thousands of soldiers in to Russian borders. According to US Army Europe, 4,000 troops and 2,000 tanks will arrive in three US transport ships to Germany next weekend. From Bremerhaven, US troops and huge amount of military material, will be transported to Poland and other countries in Central and Eastern Europe. USA is sending to Russian borders 3rd Brigade of the 4th Infantry Division. Overall, more than 2,500 pieces of cargo are shipped to Germany, where those will be unloaded in the period January 6-8. US military material and troops will continue to Poland by rail and military convoy’s. Massive US military deployment should be ready by January 20. “Some 900 cars with military materiel will be transported by train from Bremerhaven to Poland. There are also about 600 pieces of freight that will be transported by train to Poland from the military training ground at Bergen-Hohne. Nearly 40 vehicles will travel directly by road from Bremerhaven to Poland,” told Bundeswehr press office. “Three years after the last American tanks left the continent, we need to get them back,” said Lieutenant General Frederick “Ben” Hodges, commander of US forces in Europe. He made the statement during a visit to the Logistics School of the Bundeswehr in Garlstedt, Lower Saxony. He told journalists that the measures were a “response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the illegal annexation of Crimea.” While NATO is preparing for war against Russia, Hodges turned everything upside down and accused Russia of preparing for war. “This does not mean that there necessarily has to be a war, none of this is inevitable, but Moscow is preparing for the possibility,” Hodges said. In the dangerous escalation against nuclear-armed Russia, which poses the danger of a third world war, the German Bundeswehr is playing a central role. “Without the support of the [German] Army, we can go nowhere,” Hodges said during an appearance at the Joint Support Service of the Bundeswehr. Germany, which rolled over Eastern Europe in its war of extermination 75 years ago, is preparing to send combat troops to the Baltics. In January, 26 tanks, 100 other vehicles and 120 containers will be transported by train to Lithuania. Germany will send the 122nd Infantry Battalion. At the same time total of 1,600 US fighting vehicles are due to be stored at a six-warehouse complex in the southeastern village of Eygelshoven, near the Belgian and German borders. The Eygelshoven facility was originally opened in 1985 during the Cold War, when it was used by US troops to practice drills in case of a possible Soviet attack, wrote RT News. Abrams Tanks, Bradley Fighting Vehicles and Paladin artillery have already started arriving in what is part of a $3.4 billion Congress-approved scheme to increase NATO military capability in Europe. Storage sites are also planned to be reopened in Poland, Belgium and Germany. QI Editor’s note: The U.S. DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE Official Website, under America’s continued commitment to European Security, Operation Atlantic Resolve, states: “The United States is demonstrating its continued commitment to collective security through a series of actions designed to reassure NATO allies and partners of America’s dedication to enduring peace and stability in the region in light of the Russian intervention in Ukraine.”

Over the past 24 hours, a total of 79 shells and also 246 rounds of ammunition have been fired from various types of grenade launchers at the republic’s territory, Basurin said. Kiev again violated the February 2015 Minsk peace deal by redeploying two Akatsiya self-propelled artillery systems to the contact line, he added. On December 31, Poroshenko congratulated the Ukrainian military in Mariupol with the New Year. John McCain and Lindsey Graham’s war against Russia and against Donald Trump (VIDEO) / By Adam Garrie / The Duran / January 1, 2017 / Two of Trump’s war party Republican opponents spent their New Year in Kiev where they spent time taking photos with war criminals and speaking with the leader of the fascist regime. / With much of America glued to Trump’s Twitter page and Obama’s increasingly nasty decrees against Russian diplomats, two of the President-elect’s must vocal opponents from within the Republican party made a move designed to weaken Trump’s international prestige, sow internal Republican discord and weaken improvements in US-Russian relations in the aftermath of the 20th of January. Republican Senators Lindsey Graham and John McCain spent the New Year in Kiev where Petro Poroshenko gave them both state medals, the Order of Ukraine. They were later pictured with a group of military men drawn from units engaged in the genocidal, anti-democratic war against the people of Donbass, which in recent weeks has become ever more violent, with Kiev continually violating the Minsk II agreement. Both Senators are beyond reproach. To try to bestow international legitimacy on a blatantly neo-fascist, genocidal, racist, corrupt, rogue and loathed regime, is an insult to the civilised world. But no matter how heinous the two men’s actions are, they are not surprising. McCain for years has posed for photos next to a wide array of violent extremists from ISIS leaders, various other radical Islamist terrorists, to the leaders of the Kiev coup of 2014. Graham too is known for his militarism which knows no end. The two Senators are two politicians who think that the Obama/Hillary/Kerry policies of constant regime change don’t go far enough. McCain also once re-wrote the lyrics to the tune made famous by the Beach Boys, Barbra Ann as ‘bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb-bomb Iran’. Not level headed to say the least. What’s more is that both men have a personal dislike of Donald Trump and this is to put it mildly. McCain was taunted by Trump who said that he prefers war heroes who don’t . . . READ MORE>>

The far-right activists shouted traditional anti-Russian slogans and “Glory to the nation!” and also criticized the government. Some 700 law enforcers ensured security in the center of the city, where traffic was partly blocked. No public order violations were registered. Similar marches were staged by Ukrainian nationalists in Bandera’s home town Stary Ugryniv, in western Ukraine’s Ivano-Frankovskaya region and Lvov. Stepan Bandera, the leader and ideologist of Ukraine’s nationalist movement in the 20th century, closely collaborated with Nazi Germany during World War II. He headed the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) in 1941-1959. The units of OUN – UPA (Ukrainian Insurgent Army) killed more than 100,000 Poles, Czechs and Jews in Western Volyn. Thousands of Ukrainians, who refused to cooperate with OUN, were also killed. Besides, the supporters of Bandera also fought against the Soviet Union’s army. On January 20, 2010, Ukraine’s then-President Viktor Yushchenko awarded Stepan Bandera the order of Hero of Ukraine. In April that year, the Donetsk district administrative court declared the president’s decree illegal. The court decision was passed on a lawsuit filed by Professor Anatoly Solovyov of the Donetsk University.

slavjan1-17zProminent member of Ukraine’s elite issues call for peace in Donbass / By Halyna Mokrushyna / NewColdWar.org / December 31, 2016 / The last days of 2016 brought a tiny beam of hope that the deadlock in Ukraine between Kyiv and the Donetsk People’s Republic and Lugansk People’s Republic and a larger conflict between Russia and the West over Ukraine might be broken. / Most importantly, this initiative comes from Ukraine. It was voiced in a Wall Street Journal article by Viktor Pinchuk, the third richest oligarch in Ukraine and the son-in-law of the former Ukrainian president Leonid Kuchma (who represents Ukraine in Minsk-2 agreement negotiations between Kyiv and DPR and LPR). Pinchuk calls on his compatriots to adapt to the new geopolitical reality, referring to the new American President Donald Trump and the potential coming in power of Russia-sympathetic leaders in coming European elections. His article is titled ‘Ukraine must make painful compromises for peace with Russia’. Painful compromises on behalf of Ukraine are necessary to end the conflict in the Donbass, states Pinchuk, while noting that it was Russia who initiated and supported a so-called ‘separatist’ movement in this region. Although Russia is not a signatory of Minsk agreements, Pinchuk assigns on Russia the responsibility to enforce the ceasefire and the withdrawal of its fighters and heavy weapons. Despite countless declarations claiming a presence of Russian Army units in the Donbass region, no credible . . . READ MORE>>

The operation was a response to local residents’ refusal to recognize the new coup-installed government in the country. QI Editor’s Note: In a recent Video, Graham Phillips interviewed local residents in the “grey zone” along the DPR contact line, where Ukrainian troops do not allow access to grocery stores. He will wait patiently for Donald Trump. / President Putin has issued a statement concerning a possible Russian response to Barack Obama’s expulsion of 35 Russian diplomats from the US. Vladimir Putin said: “We reserve the right to retaliate, but we will not sink to the level of this irresponsible ‘kitchen’ diplomacy. We will take further moves on restoring Russian-American relations based on the policies that the administration of President-elect Donald Trump adopts”. Vladimir Putin is no longer concealing the fact that his personal relationship with Barack Obama has been overwhelmingly negative. Furthermore it is clear that Putin won’t let the last months of a lame-duck presidency deter the progress in US-Russian relations that is virtually inevitable when Donald Trump enters the White House. Barack Obama is now isolated. The world awaits Trump and Russia will not chase Obama’s sinking ship to the depths of the abyss. Outgoing Obama Administration’s Hypocrisy in Expelling 35 Russian Diplomats / By Kerry Bolton / Katehon.com / December 30, 2016 / The outgoing Obama administration in expelling 35 Russian diplomats from the USA indicates the Russophobic regime that would have been maintained had the plutocrats’ choice, Hillary Clinton, won the presidency. Homeland Security ‘disclaims’ its own report: ‘Certain cyber activity’, interfering with the elections of Russia and her allies has long been a featured part of the attack on Russia sponsored by the US Congress and State Department. Attempts to toughen Donbass blockade to worsen Ukraine economy’s plunge – Zakharchenko / Donetsk News Agency / December 29, 2016 / Kiev attempts to toughen Donbass economic blockade will do more harm to Ukraine’s economy and the welfare of its citizens, DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko said in an interview to Donetsk News Agency. “The Ukrainian economy is nosediving; instead of trying to curb the fall and come to terms with us, they turn on the engine to accelerate the plunge. Let them make things worse if they wish,” Zakharchenko said. “I’m sure we can exploit it to our advantage, whereas Ukraine will further harm its economy and its citizens’ welfare.” The economic blockade not only failed to weaken DPR and LPR thus far, it stimulated the Republics’ economic potential in various sectors and eventually worked against Ukraine, the DPR leader added. On 16 December, Ukraine National Security and Defence Council Secretary Alexander Turchinov called for tougher economic blockade against the Donbass Republics. Turchinov, a key figure behind Donbass bloodbath, believes that the ban on movements of goods and cargoes to LPR and DPR will enable Kiev to faster “liberate” the territories it does not control. On November 15 2014, Ukrainian President Petr Poroshenko signed the decree halting the payment of pensions and allowances in the conflict zone. DPR and LPR authorities branded the decision as an “act on genocide and ruination of people.”

slavdec29-16n3 Ukrainian saboteurs killed in mine tripping during failed attack – Basurin / Donetsk News Agency / December 29, 2016 / A Ukrainian saboteur group lost three personnel in mine tripping during failed attack on DPR defence lines, DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin told a news briefing at Donetsk News Agency. “Yesterday, in Krutaya Balka area (Yasinovatskiy district – eds DAN), a saboteur and reconnaissance enemy group up to ten personnel, using mortar and small arms support fire, tried to break through our positions,” Basurin said. “As they approached our positions, they tripped a mine killing three Ukrainian army servicemen and sending the rest into panicky retreat.” The ceasefire agreed in Minsk does not stop Kiev forces from carrying out armed provocations in the runup to New Year holidays, he said. Kiev forces make regular attempts to break through DPR and LPR defence which usually ends in Ukrainian casualties. On 18 December, Ukrainian units attacked LPR People’s Militia positions in Kalinovka village area outside Debaltsevo. The attack left ten Ukrainian servicemen dead and more than 20 wounded. Two Ukrainian infantry fighting vehicles were destroyed. During the attack, Ukrainian forces shelled and attacked DPR militia positions but were rebuffed.

Two Akatsia 152mm howitzers were revealed in Starognatovka village area (outside Volnovakha, 4.5 km from the contact line). “Minsk agreements violation data were passed to OSCE mission and Joint Centre for Control and Coordination representatives,” Basurin added. DPR intelligence reports Kiev’s regular deployment of military equipment to the conflict zone. Under The Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements signed by the Contact Group on February 12, 2015, the sides have to withdraw their artillery systems of 100 mm calibre or more to a distance of 50 kilometres apart from each other, multiple launch rocket systems Tornado, Uragan and Smerch to a distance of 70 kilometres and Tactical Missile Systems Tochka to a distance of 140 kilometres. Zakharchenko: In 2017 Kiev might begin actual implementation of Minsk Agreements / Novorossia Vision / December 29, 2016 / The actual implementation of the Minsk Agreements by the Ukrainian side might begin in 2017. This opinion was expressed by the Head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko. ‘I believe that the phased implementation of the Minsk Agreements, in accordance with the road map adopted by the Norman format and agreed with us, might begin in 2017,’ he said. Zakharchenko said that so far the Ukrainian authorities had slowed down the implementation of «Minsk», since the fulfillment of the political agreement would mean the collapse of the current regime in Kiev. In the future, the situation might be affected by a number of factors, such as the worsening of the economic and political crisis in Ukraine, the pressure on the part of the Norman format countries and the probable change in the US foreign policy. ‘There is not and can not be an absolute certainty as the Kiev power is like a monkey with a grenade, it is difficult to understand what they have in their mind, where they will throw that grenade. Or, which is more likely, when the grenade will explode in their hands. But there are preconditions for a positive solution of the matter,’ added the Head of the DPR.

Many OSCE States Continue to Consider Moscow Responsible for Ukraine Crisis / Sputnik / December 28, 2016 / Russia’s Permanent Representative at the OSCE Alexander Lukashevich said that because of Brussels policy not all EU member states were able to voice their own positions on the issue, but Russia’s positions with regard to the Ukrainian conflict were shared by many OSCE members. / MOSCOW (Sputnik) / Many of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) member states continue to consider that Russia is the side responsible for the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, Russia’s Permanent Representative at the OSCE Alexander Lukashevich told Sputnik in an interview. “Unfortunately, perception of the Ukrainian crisis has been put in such a position, within the framework of the international public opinion, that Russia is guilty of everything and actions of [Donbass] militias are also directed from Moscow… All these theses that have nothing in common with the reality have taken roots too much, including in the political principles that direct the policy of very many member states,” Lukashevich said. He added that because of Brussels policy not all EU member states were able to voice their own positions on the issue, but Russia’s positions with regard to the Ukrainian conflict were shared by many OSCE members. The conflict in eastern Ukraine started in April 2014, when Kiev launched a special military operation in Ukraine’s eastern regions after local residents refused to recognize the new Ukrainian authorities, which came to power as a result of what many considered to be a coup. According to the UN estimates, more than 10,000 people have been killed in Ukraine’s conflict. The European Union and the United States along with their allies accused Russia of fueling tensions in eastern Ukraine and introduced a series of sanctions against Russia as a punitive measure. Moscow refuted any involvement in the Ukrainian conflict and imposed a year-long food embargo on the countries that had sanctioned it, which was later prolonged as the sanctions were extended.

Angela Merkel prepares law that will fine social media sites $522,000 a day for leaving “fake news” stories online / By Alex Christoforou / The Duran / December 29, 2016 / Germany is considering imposing a legal regime that would allow fining social networks such as Facebook up to 500,000 euros ($522,000). / In a move that will most certainly lead the way to other EU vassal states adopting similar measures, Angela Merkel is considering imposing a 500,000 euros ($522,000) fine on Facebook, and other social media platforms, for each day they leave a “fake news” story up without deleting it. The German government will consider the bill in the new year. The initiative has bipartisan support, allowing both official and private complainants to flag content that is considered “fake news”. The law forces social networks to create in-country offices focused on responding to takedown demands, and makes social networks legally responsible for compensation, if a post by individual users were found to slander someone…and we are confident that no private individuals will abuse such laws for financial gain. With George Soros financing the “third-party fact checking” organization retained to flag, and censor “fake news” on Facebook, we are positive that any publication not of the neo-liberal, globalist kind, will be properly removed from social media platforms, so as to avoid Merkel’s book burning fine. Germany’s parliamentary chief of the Social Democrat party, Thomas Oppermann in an interview with Germany’s Der Spiegel magazine said… “If after the relevant checks Facebook does not immediately, within 24 hours, delete the offending post then [it] must reckon with severe penalties of up to 500,000 euros.” After such laws are passed in Germany, if Facebook were . . . slavdec29-16sThe Karma of Washington’s Notorious Interference in Other Countries’ Elections / By Alexander Azadgan / Katehon / December 28, 2016 / Recently, we have been hearing a whole lot of baseless rumors and false accusations from President Obama and his predictable, sour-loser, pro-establishment mafia gang (Republicans and Democrats alike) that the Russians interfered in our presidential election in favor of Donald Trump. Even the CIA has also been quite vocal on this issue, albeit and as usual, they have provided ZERO EVIDENCE in proving their claims. Pro-establishment non-sense and baseless conspiracy theories aside for a moment, I do find this whole charade to be quite arrogant [and even ironic] for Washington to complain that a foreign power may have interfered in our electoral process, of course without providing any credible evidence as always. After all, hasn’t Washington been interfering in countless other countries’ elections for the past 70 years – ever since we ceased being a republic and started morphing into an evil, hegemonic empire? Washington in fact does have a well-documented history of interfering and sometimes interrupting the workings of democracies elsewhere. It has occupied and intervened militarily in a whole swath of countries in the Caribbean, Latin America, and the Middle East. It has fomented coup and coup against democratically elected populists. The most infamous episode includes my own country of birth, Iran, and the CIA ousting of Prime Minister Mohammed Mossadeq in 1953 – whose populist government was replaced by the authoritarian puppet monarchy of the Shah who was favorable to Washington ever since the end of WWII. Viktor Yanukovich (–Sputnik/ Sergey Guneev)

Ukraine Ex-Leader Yanukovich Trial to Start in 1st Quarter of 2017 / Sputnik / December 27, 2016 / The trial of Ukraine’s former President Viktor Yanukovych on treason will start in the first quarter of 2017 if a court allows the Prosecutor General’s Office to launch a pretrial investigation in absentia, Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko said Tuesday. / KIEV (Sputnik) — The Pechersky District Court in Kiev is currently considering the appeal of the Prosecutor General’s Office for a permission to launch a pretrial investigation in absentia over Yanukovich’s case. “I am looking forward the permission of the Pechersky District Court in Kiev to launch the pretrial investigation in absentia. Taking into account that we have a few materials and witnesses, I expect that Yanukovich will receive the materials with results of the pretrial investigation in the coming months, and the trial will start after this. I expect it will happen in the first quarter of 2017,” Lutsenko said at a briefing. According to Lutsenko, if the court announced the guilty verdict against Yanukovich, the state will confiscate all his assets in Ukraine. In late November, Yanukovich, who is currently residing in Russia, testified in the case on the 2014 Maidan uprising via a video linkup with Kiev. During the hearing, it was announced that Yanukovich was suspected of treason. Mass protests erupted in Ukraine after Yanukovych refused to sign an association agreement with the European Union. The government of Yanukovych was toppled after months of protests in Kiev’s landmark Maidan square in February 2014. During the clashes between the security forces and the protesters more than a hundred people died. New Ukrainian authorities headed by President Petro Poroshenko put the blame on Yanukovych. Quemado Institute comments: There are some questionable things about this article, as well as about the events it describes. Sputnik is financed by the Kremlin, according to US allegations. Why then does this article not present Yanukovich’s side of the issue? Yes, Yanukovich “refused to sign an association agreement with the European Union”—at first. But when he witnessed the public outcry, he met with European officials and reached a compromise he believed would satisfy all parties. This was the night before he was illegally ousted and fled due to threats on his life. The compromise agreement was ignored, and they overthrew him anyway. The article also fails to mention possible U.S. intervention in the Maidan coup. About the events themselves, why is it Ukraine putting Yanukovich on trial instead of Russia putting Poroshenko on trial?

slavdec9-16wOn The TU-154 Lost near Sochi / By Vladimir Suchan / Logos Politicos / December 25, 2016 / The probability that the Russian TU-154 was brought down by a man-made explosion, that’s by a terror action, is quite high (right after a stopover in Sochi and the plane fell just 1.5 km off the shore). And if so then the terrorists or special forces involved knew what plane and whom precisely they were targeting. In other words, if this was a terrorist attack, it would mean and require a professional intelligence operation with access to info from Russian’s Ministry of Defense. The very likely terrorists—if this was a terror attack—must have known both the plan and the real time information about the plane’s flight, its schedule, route, and stopovers. The security of the flight did most likely require its special protection, which, to repeat again if this was a terror attack, would have been breached. In this case, the attack would have required intel, several teams, and very effective communication. So far the handling of the tragedy of TU-154 near Sochi follows the script of the Russian tourist charter plane over Sinai. At first the pilot is blamed (neither fair nor respectful of the crew) and almost immediately the plane is derided as being poorly maintained, which, in this case, is also insensible before any debris, not to mention any black box, has been retrieved, and no technical investigation has even started. On the other hand, there is at least one video that shows what appears like an explosion at the time the plane was lost in the very same location. As in the case of the terror attack on the Russian plane over Sinai, so here too a terrorist attack does appear as the most . . . READ MORE>>

(Brief update)

slavdec27-16zTurchynov Promises to Capture DNR and LNR in 2017 / Novorossiya Information Agency / Autotranslation by Quemado Institute / December 26, 2016 / Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov said that in 2017 the Ukrainian army is occupying the territory of the People’s Republic of Donbass. “Meter by meter, we begin to liberate occupied territory. I am convinced that 2017 will be a watershed in this regard,” he said during a visit to the National Guard under the base in the Kiev region, [according to] Interfax-Ukraine. “All attempts to move forward and break through our defenses this year, were doomed to failure. In addition, the enemy suffered very serious losses, and APU [UAF] improved their positions,” said Turchinov, silent about the failed operation under Debaltsevo.

Turchinov Predicts Imminent Capture of Donbass by Ukrainian Army / Lenta.ru / Autotranslation by Quemado Institute / December 27, 2016 / Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov said that the situation in the Donbass will change dramatically in 2017. He said this on Tuesday, December 27 during a visit to the National Guard under the base in the Kiev region, [reported] “Interfax-Ukraine”. “Meter by meter, we begin to liberate occupied territory. I am convinced that 2017 will be a watershed in this regard,” said Turchinov. He added that Ukraine has not lost for the first time no one meter of their land this year. “All attempts to move forward and break through our defenses this year, were doomed to failure. In addition, the enemy suffered very heavy losses, and the APU [Armed Forces of Ukraine] have improved their position, “- Secretary of the National Security Council said. On November 11, Deputy Minister of the occupied territories of the Ukrainian government George Tooke said that Kiev in the near future will be able to return the Donbass and the Crimea under its control. In his opinion, no need of any one shot for the return of the lost territories. “I believe that we will return very quickly Donbass. Crimea is much more complicated issue, but we will return it without a shot,” said the official. Crimea became part of Russia after conducted in March 2014 referendum in which the majority of people in the region have supported such a solution. Kiev refused to recognize the results of the plebiscite. Moscow insisted that the accession of the region is in accordance with international law. The Ukrainian authorities also regularly accuse Russia of interfering in the conflict in the Donbass. Moscow refutes these allegations, citing the lack of evidence, and pointing out that Russia is not a party to the conflict. Quemado Institute comments: Turchynov, a brutal war criminal, is unfortunately right about Ukraine gaining territory from the Donetsk and Lugansk Peoples Republics (DPR/LPR). During the latter half of 2015, the Kremlin, acting through Russian officers of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) in Donbass, pressured the DPR leadership and the Novorossiya Armed Forces to withdraw from Shirokino, and then from the entire contact line. This was touted as a “gesture of good will” to show Russia’s “compliance” with Minsk. As a result, regions called “grey zones” sprang up where Donbass civilians, formerly defended by the DPR, now live unprotected. In a recent video, Graham Phillips interviewed some of these marginalized people. The residents claim Ukrainian troops prevent them from driving even to the grocery store (the local people have cows and vegetable gardens, and still receive aid from the Red Cross). Though Graham Phillips entered the grey zone unhindered, UAF troop presence is a menace to the population. The DPR militia are nowhere to be seen. It make sense then that Kiev would now consider these zones their territory.

slavdec27-16vA Graham Newsletter (#17) Dr Liza and Tragedy on Christmas, News from Donbass / By Graham Phillips / The Truthspeaker / December 27, 2016 / I had wanted to write this wishing you a Happy Christmas, but the tragic crash of flight Tu-154 meant there was nothing happy about the day. While mourning for all the 92 victims on board, I was devastated to learn that in their number was Doctor Liza, an incredible lady who had visited Donbass 16 times during war, taking hundreds of, often severely, wounded children to Russia and the medical treatment which, in many cases, saved their lives. We’d been in touch since early 2015, and in 2016 of this year, I’d had the pleasure of meeting her, spending a day together, the result of which was an interview, an extract of which, I’ll show you below, the text here: There was a girl, who was given a terrible outlook, and Vika (kindly shortening of Victoria), she became well, and was coming up to the guard and would dance – a little swan or some other part, she was making such a show – a child that could not even SIT before, she lay on the arms. So, you see… Everything is possible, Grisha . . . READ MORE>> [Additional videos at source.]
