October 23 Essence of Time unit in Donbass report / Essence of Time / October 23, 2016 / The intensity of shelling on the main parts of the frontline remains high. Ukrainian army continues to shell frontline districts of DPR by artillery. The situation is difficult near Gorlovka. By the evening intensive trench combat started in the area of Zaytsevo village. Ukrainian army fires tanks, artillery, grenade launchers and small arms. The fire is being adjusted with the help of UAVs. Two civilians received multiple shrapnel wounds as a result of artillery shelling of Trudovskie village in the south-west of the capital. The victims are hospitalized. The situation is tense in the area of Yasinovataya checkpoint. A direct hit of a shell destroyed a house on Babenko street in Sakhanka village. There were no casualties. DPR recon registered the positions of two Ukrainian army mortars near Mayorsk (Gorlovka direction). Another two mortar crews were spotted near occupied Avdeevka (Donetsk direction). Ukrainian commanders reinforced the group of Ukrainian forces near Mariupol with the 45th independent airborne-assault battalion, as well as militants of Nazi “Azov”, “Aydar” and “Right Sector” gangs due to losses of personnel. Because of this DPR Operations Command warns of new provocations in the south of the Republic. According to updated information, on October 22 Ukrainian army violated the ceasefire 446 times, including 282 times by artillery systems. Zaytsevo and Gorlovka, Spartak, Staromikhailovka, Trudovskie, Aleksandrovka and Sakhanka were shelled.

Motorola won even in death (VIDEO) / By Alexander Kots; Translated by Alexander Fedotov; Edited by GBabeuf / Slavyangrad.org / October 22, 2016 / At the entrance to the Donetsk high-rise, they killed a “Komi carwasher”, but it turned out that he was a People’s Hero of the Donbass, who was mourned today even on the other side of the front-line. There, they wept quietly; in Donetsk, in full voice. As always happens in retrospect, after the terrible and irreparable event, the security measures at the farewell to the Sparta commander were simply unprecedented. From early in the morning, a good part of the city centre, the opera theatre and all adjacent streets, was cordoned off and blocked. People had started coming from nine in the morning, shifting to an autumn chill, waiting silently. The queue grew, crossed the square in front of the theatre, snaking along the broad avenue. It was impossible to single out any particular social group from the crowd; it would be easier to say: “all had come.” The elderly and very young girls. Many wounded—with walking-sticks, on crutches. Soldiers from various units: in ceremonial camouflage, gorka [a smock and over-trousers ―Slavyangrad ed.] faded to white or standard tsifra [a Russian digital camouflage pattern ―ed.]. Young boys were walking in groups. In the courtyards of the Donbass, for already the second year, boys have been playing at being “Motorola” or being in “Sparta”. A girl in uniform, about eight years old, came to the coffin, let go her grandmother’s hand, laid some flowers, crossed herself and saluted. . . . MORE>> Click here. [Photo gallery at source.]

slavsep28-16nThe EU is now giving to Putin its Nuland-like cookie: Sanctions for helping out against al Qaeda are deferred for now. Instead, the EU now brandishes with “all options” against Russia are now on the table, which is actually a notable, even dramatic escalation, though thinly veiled behind the deferment of the new sanctions. In a word, the West has Russia exactly where they wanted Russia to be after 25 years of faux “independence.” / By Vladimir Suchan / Logos Politicos / October 21, 2016 / On Wednesday Putin consented to Poroshenko’s and his allies (i.e. Germany and France) demand for the armed OSCE (NATO-proxy) force in Donbass and after he also issued a new demand on Damascus to change its constitution, as demanded by the US and al Qaeda proxies. Moreover, Merkel (Germany) has been entrusted and charged with developing the armed police OSCE force for the Russians in Donbass, , which is much like asking NATO to do it, and this too Putin praised very “positively.” On Thursday, on the very next day, the EU awarded Putin a cookie as a symbolic reward by not adding new sanctions on Russia over Russia’s involvement in Syria (from the start coordinated with the US). In return, the EU introduced a new threatening language that says that for the EU now “ALL OPTIONS are not on the table.” Well, in diplomatic language, “all options” traditionally don’t mean just sanctions, but also use of force. Thus, while apparently backtracking on sanctions, the EU is now actually threatening Russia with war. It was this threat or fear that was initially also used to justify the introduction of Putin’s so-called “clever” or “cunning plan” and the abandonment of Novorossiya to the fascists and the Minsk betrayals. https://www.yahoo.com/news/eu-consider-available-options-syria-atrocities-continue-tusk-235721032.html

Putin in Berlin on October 19. (Spoiler alert: he got there his new marching orders) / By Vladimir Suchan / Logos Politicos / October 20, 2016 / With the makeup of a faux genius and Botox of PR increasingly failing and falling off, the real Putin in Berlin came out more strongly than the formerly projected impersonator of a leader. Putin thus showed himself rather as a feeble, obsequious person, a local colonial, amoral administrator of rather fair intellectual and thinking abilities and vacuous character, ridden with anxiety and complexes and in much dependent on the strings-playing thumbs of his masters. What he already officially approved as a good idea back in April (the latest), he endorsed more fully again (though with a bit of initial denial disinformation)–namely deployment of “the armed OSCE police force,” more plainly, a NATO proxy with OSCE logos, in Donbass. On the orders of his masters, he even again reiterated their demand, which he also had made (as if) his own before, namely that Syria’s anti-imperialist and modestly socialist constitution overwhelmingly approved at a people’s referendum in 2012 ought to changed in order please and placate the whims of Washington and takfiri al Qaeda and their proxies who have been waging a genocidal war on Syria since 2011. If Putin started his presidency in 2000 telling Larry King of CNN with a self-content smile of a sociopath that the Kursk submarine just “sank.” Russia as a civilization and a country has been in the last 25 years or so (and 16 years under Putin) turned into an analogy of Kursk, of course, on a much bigger scale. In this regard, the economic policies, strategic use and appointments of the similar filtered sociopaths and shady characters in positions of power and management and also the Yeltsin Center have been some of the most effective torpedoes tearing through the once great ship called Russia and the USSR. The course of Russia has been triangulated so that, if Putin began his presidency with the Kursk disaster and his “it sank” smiling bon mot, he might well end his journey with another “it sank” moment. For that is now already within the realm of the possible. As recommended, this too is worth watching without sound. slavoct23-16vPoroshenko Insists on Deploying OSCE Police Mission as Condition for Elections in Donbass / TASS / October 23, 2016 / Kiev insists on deployment of a police mission of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Donbass territories it does not control as a mandatory condition for local elections in these territories, Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko said on Sunday. “It is necessary to boost the efficiency of the OSCE monitoring mission and an armed police mission is needed there. Before the elections, we must have control over the border on the part of a permanent OSCE armed mission,” he said in an interview with the Ukraina television channel commenting on the results of the latest Normandy Four summit in Berlin. The Ukrainian president said that another condition Kiev is setting for the organization of an election process is ensuring Ukraine’s control over the border with Russia in Donbass “on the second day after the polls,” as is said in the Minsk agreements. According to Poroshenko, the Normandy Four leaders now plan to focus on a roadmap for the implementation of the Minsk agreements, with exact time when the Minsk agreements are to be implemented. Roadmap on Donbass:
A roadmap for the settlement of the situation in eastern Ukraine will envisage the implementation of both the Minsk-1 package signed in September 2014 and the Minsk-2 package of February 2015, Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko said. “Position number one is to stop the ping pong game: who and when must implement which part of the Minsk agreement,” he said in an interview with Ukrainian television channels. “What will be in the focus of the roadmap is first, complete ceasefire and then heavy weapons withdrawal.” He said the new document will grant access for OSCE monitors to the entire Donbass territory, including the border and unimpeded access for the mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross. Apart from that, the roadmap will envisage the use of drones to record ceasefire violations.slavoct19-16r The roadmap, according to Poroshenko, is not a substitute for the Minsk agreements. It will envisage the dates of the implementation of the Minsk agreements and a mechanism for prisoner exchange. The security package will include the completion of the disengagement of forces in the three previously appointed areas – in Zolotoye, Petrovskoye and Stanitsa Luganskaya. Moreover, four more zones will be appointed for disengagement. Poroshenko insisted that Debaltsevo should be among these zones. According to the Ukrainian president, the new document will provide for the implementation of both Minsk-1 and Minsk-2 settlement packages. “The roadmap includes the implementation of all of the Minsk agreements, including the protocol of September 5, 2014, the memorandum of September 19, 2014 and the package of measures of February 12, 2015,” he said. The parties to the Ukrainian conflict agreed on a ceasefire at OSCE-mediated talks on September 5 in Belarusian capital Minsk. On September 19 in Minsk, the Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine comprising representatives of Ukraine, Russia and the OSCE adopted a memorandum outlining the parameters for the implementation of commitments on the ceasefire in Ukraine laid down in the Minsk Protocol of September 5. On February 12, 2015, the Contact Group signed a 13-point Package of Measures to fulfil the September 2014 Minsk agreements. The package was agreed with the leaders of the Normandy Four, namely Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine. The Package of Measures, known as Minsk-2, envisaged a ceasefire between Ukrainian government forces and people’s militias in the self-proclaimed republics in Donetsk and Lugansk starting from February 15 and subsequent withdrawal of heavy weapons from the line of engagement. The deal also laid out a roadmap for a lasting settlement in Ukraine, including local elections and constitutional reform to give more autonomy to the war-torn eastern regions. slavoct23-16uQuemado Insitute comments: It is unthinkable for the DPR/LPR militias to retreat from the Debaltsevo area after how hard they fought for it in January and February of 2015. The people who live there need to be defended. Residents of other “grey” zones left without defence have suffered enormous harships, including shelling, siege, and hunger. Also, there are several reasons an OSCE police mission with access to all of Donbass is inappropriate. It contradicts the Minsk agreements, which prohibit armed peacekeepers. The OSCE, funded by its 57 member states, is closely aligned with NATO and an enemy of the Donbass Republics. Poroshenko’s insistence on armed international police is nothing but a public relations ruse. There is no need for additional police, and Ukraine itself is the perpetrator of violence. Meanwhile, Zakharchenko has again assumed the role of figurehead. His threats to avenge the Ukrainian Security Service’s killing of Motorola have come to nothing, as the one-sided ceasefire, to which Putin, Pushilin and Basurin agreed, continues to take its toll on civilians. This passivity on the Donbass-Russian side may be a holding pattern until the US elections, which should be decisive in the Western-manufactured conflict with Russia. slavoct21-16wDonetsk Defense: Situation Report, 20.10.2016 / DONi News / October 20, 2016 / The situation in the Donetsk People’s Republic remains tense. Over the last days the Ukrainian gunmen 481 times have violated the ceasefire regime. Once again we witness how the president of Ukraine Poroshenko shows his love to the Ukrainian people and directly to our Republic. We feel every day great passion and care of the people living in Donbass. The humanitarian aid in the form of artillery and mortar shells continues to arrive to the territory of the long-suffering Republic. While Poroshenko was speaking about the observance of the Minsk Agreements during the meeting of the contact group in Berlin, there was launched forty 122-mm artillery shells, five tank shells, 405 mortar shells of 120 and 82 mm caliber onto the territory of the Republic. Commanders of the AFU units Drapaty, Delyatitsky, Shaptala and Vlasenko have continued conducting criminal shelling of the settlements of Zaitsevo, Gorlovka, Shyrokaya Balka, Yasinovataya, Zhabichevo, Spartak, Signalnoye, Yasnoye, Dokuchayevsk, Staromikhailovka, Aleksandrovka, Sakhanka, Leninskoye, Oktyabr and the settlement of Trudovskiye of the Petrovsky district of Donetsk. As a result of mortar attack of the settlement of Yasnoye in Dokuchayevsk there were damaged six houses, in one of that houses there were destroyed two flats. Our investigation continues eliciting the facts of the AFU forbidden arms’ presence in the “ATO” zone, along the line of contact. So, near the settlements of: Kramatorsk, there was registered the location of foreign mercenaries, up to 80 people (Italy and France) on the airfield. Every night they set out in the direction of the line of contact, presumably, to carry out provocations (diversions); Dzerzhynsk (2 km away from the line of contact) there was registered the deployment of three tanks to the contact line; Troitskoye (8 km away from the line of contact) in woodland belt there was detected the arrival of three units of MRLS ‘Grad’ and four tanks; Georgievka (7 km away from the line of contact) there was detected the arrival of five vans with ammunition. Andreyevka (17 km away from the line of contact) there have arrived two railway carriages with artillery ammunition to the railway station “Karan”. All data on violations of the Minsk agreements by the Ukrainian party and the placement of the AFU forbidden arms were transferred to representatives of the OSCE Mission and JCCC. The persistence of the Ukrainian party on non-compliance with the Minsk agreements made it clear for the entire world community that it isn’t going to solve the conflict in Donbass peacefully. In its turn, the Army of the DPR observes and will observe previously reached agreements and guards the Republic. —Vice-Commander of the DPR People’s Militia Eduard Basurin, official translation by DONi News Agency

Normandy Four, Berlin, Oct 19, 2016

Normandy Four, Berlin, October 19, 2016

Putin agrees to armed OSCE mission in Donbass? DPR/LPR reps say no / Sott.net / October 20, 2016 / During negotiations in Berlin, Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to the proposal to deploy an armed OSCE mission in Donbass, the president’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, has stated. In Berlin on Wednesday, the first summit of the Normandy Four (Russia, Germany, Ukraine, France) in a year was held. Vladimir Putin, Angela Merkel, Petro Poroshenko, and Francois Hollande, over the course of five hours, discussed the situation in Eastern Ukraine. As Peskov emphasized, the question of deploying such a mission requires consideration and planning in the OSCE. According to him, Germany’s chairmanship of the OSCE should be used to activate such work. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko stated earlier that Russia had agreed to the deployment of an armed OSCE mission. At the same time, the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics are opposing the OSCE military mission. The DPR’s permanent representative to the Minsk negotiations, Denis Pushilin, stated: “According to the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission’s mandate in effect at the current moment on the territory of the conflict, the mission is civilian and unarmed.” According to him, the introduction of such major changes to the mandate and work of the mission can only be carried out with the complete agreement of all 57 OSCE member countries. Pushilin called Poroshenko’s statement on an armed OSCE mission in Donbass another attempt “to portray wishful thinking as reality.” “Putin stated that he is ready to extend the OSCE mission in the zone of the removal and storage points of heavy equipment, but there is not talk of any police mission and, what’s more, an armed one, at the current moment,” DPR National Council deputy Vladislav Berdichevsky told RIA Novosti. Comment: LPR’s permanent rep to Minsk, Vladislav Deynego, said the same thing: “But in reality, the Normandy Four believes that the OSCE observatory mission should be strengthened in the areas where forces and equipment are being withdrawn and in the places where heavy weapons are stored. Nothing more! In other words, in those places where the Ukrainian side, taking advantage of the absence of complete OSCE control, is constantly conjuring up heavy artillery systems, tanks, etc. and we can see all of this in the systematic shelling of the civilians in the residential areas of Donbass.” The prerequisites for deploying . . . Putin meets with 3 pieces of shit in Berlin, and now the “Ceasefire” is back on? Surely he is not foolish enough to trust nazis? And armed OSCE in Donbass? WTF? How long before that turns into a provocation? OSCE are (mostly) spies and liars. Hug certainly is. Giving these assholes guns is a REAL bad idea. The PEOPLE of DNR AND LNR have already held multi-thousand person rallies against the idea of armed OSCE spies and provocateurs on our land. — Facebook Quemado Institute comments: Putin is continuing to manifest his betrayal of Novorossiya and his cowardice in the face of Western aggression and lies.

OSCE mission, LPR, 2015 (Aleksander Gayuk/AFP)

OSCE in LPR, 2015 (Aleksander Gayuk/AFP)

Mission impossible: if we can arm the OSCE observers in the Donbass / By Anna Mihailova / NewsMag / October 20, 2016 / On Thursday, the Kremlin announced the agreement on the deployment of armed of the OSCE mission in Donbass, than previously insisted in Kiev. But the outward solidarity of the parties is a different understanding of interpretations, what is behind this mission. Thursday, October 20, in the Kremlin told about the results of the negotiations “channel four” on the Donbass in Berlin the evening before. One of the most important issues on which Moscow and Kiev disagreed, — the introduction of armed OSCE mission in the region. Last year the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko tried to negotiate with the UN to send a peacekeeping mission to the conflict zone, and later put forward the idea of the introduction in the Donbass police contingent of the EU. But these appeals did not find support in the UN and the EU. Poroshenko said that the mission needed to ensure control over the ceasefire regime, to control the withdrawal of weapons, ensuring the withdrawal of foreign troops from the territory and to ensure control of the border. In the breakaway republics of Donbass to protest against the initiative of Kiev on a military mission going to rallies in may and June of this year. The self-proclaimed head of the Donetsk national Republic (DND) Alexander Zakharchenko said that the appearance in the Donbass armed police of the OSCE mission would be considered an “intervention.” RBC sources in the foreign Ministry and a source close to the talks on Thursday afternoon confirmed: the Kremlin’s position has not changed, Moscow continues to oppose the introduction of armed OSCE mission on the territory of the breakaway republics. However, immediately after talks in Berlin, Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko saidthat Moscow agreed with Kiev about entering the military mission of the OSCE. And in the afternoon on Thursday, the Kremlin agreed to the mission confirmed the press-Secretary of Russian President Dmitry Peskov. “Armed police, the OSCE mission… It can be called whatever you like. In General, the location of such a mission Putin in the negotiations agreed. And there is a common understanding. In this situation, Vladimir Putin spoke of the need to use the current German presidency of the OSCE, to intensify work on this issue”, — said Peskov told reporters Thursday. The difference in interpretation: It is a question of interpretation of what is meant by an armed mission, says the source of RBC, close to the negotiations in Berlin with the Russian side. According to him, Moscow will not allow Kiev desired by the introduction in the Donbass foreign armed group of peacekeepers. It’s in . . . MORE>> Click here.

Motorola, Russel Bentley

Motorola, Russel Bentley

Texas: Who killed Motorola and why? I’ll tell you … / By Russel “Texas” Bentley / Fort Russ / October 17, 2016 / So, Saker, Southfront, and Shary are saying things don’t add up with the Motorola hit. Maybe, from their perspectives thousands of kilometers from where it happened. But I’m about 500 meters from where it happened, and here’s my take – 1) There have been 2 previous attempts on Motorola’s life in the last 6 months. At the hospital in June, and behind his apartment building in August. Somebody’s been out to get him for a while. Whoever killed him had tried at least twice before, and failed. Sparta has their own intelligence unit, and connections to the intelligence services of the DNR. If someone here was out to get him, and had already tried twice, Motorola would have had a real good idea of who it was. If it was someone from the DNR side, he would have known there was no way they wouldn’t eventually get him. It would have been certain suicide for him to stay, as well as risking the lives of his wife and kids. He could easily have “pulled a Strelkov” and moved to Crimea and retired to write his memoirs, exposing whatever traitors he thought had it in for him. But he didn’t. I’ve seen him several times, strolling with his wife and baby in the city center, shopping, going to the gym. Not what he’d have been doing if he thought he had to worry about getting it in the back from his comrades or leaders. Not at all. He was fearless, but not stupid by a long shot. Especially with the lives of his wife and kids. 2) Zaharchenko trusted Motorola enough to send him and Sparta to the LNR to safeguard Plotnitsky during/after the coup attempt. That’s a big responsibility. One not likely given . . . MORE>> Click here. Editor’s note; Texas is referring to an article by The Saker postulating Motorola was killed by a DPR insider, much as many suspect Dremov, Mozgovoy, Ishchenko and Bednov were killed by LPR insiders.  Saker’s article has received a lot of attention, including an endorsement by analyst Alexander Mercouris. Quemado Institute comments: There is no analogy between assassinations in the LPR and DPR. The LPR is generally agreed to be far more corrupt than the DPR. Saker has been wrong in many of his speculations about the DPR/LPR since the capture of Debaltsevo in February 2015, when he quit reporting on Donbass because, as he said, it had become a political rather than a military conflict.

slavoct21-16tEnvoy says Donetsk Republic won’t agree to leave Debaltsevo / TASS / October 20, 2016 / The authorities of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) won’t agree to leave the city of Debaltsevo as it would endanger the safety of its residents, DPR’s chief negotiator at the settlement talks in Minsk Denis Pushilin said on Thursday. “As for the settlement itself, on which the Ukrainian side is trying to harp on on an all too regular basis, Debaltsevo is our city, and the leadership of the Donetsk People’s Republic will never make decisions that would harm its residents,” the Donetsk News Agency quoted him as saying. Pushilin said it was premature to discuss new sections for disengagement of troops and hardware along the line of contact in Donbass. He explained this by Ukraine’s blocking the withdrawal of forces at one of the pilot section – Luganskaya settlement. The envoy expressed hope that the Normandy Four summit on Wednesday will have a positive effect on the issue. “I hope this meeting will have a positive effect on disengagement of forces and hardware at a third section – Luganskaya settlement – due to which the process of disengagement will end and an opportunity will emerge to discuss the four next sections,” Pushilin said. On Wednesday, following a summit in Berlin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel reported that the Normandy Four leaders reached an agreement on establishment of four new zones of disengagement in Donbass, saying however that “much work is ahead”. In his turn, Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko said Ukraine insists on putting Debaltsevo on the list of these zones. He referred to the fact that as of the moment of signing of the Minsk Agreements, the territory was allegedly under control of the Ukrainian military. The issue of withdrawal of forces from Debaltsevo in the Donbass conflict zone remains uncoordinated, work on the topic will be continued, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Thursday. “Regarding Debaltsevo, here it’s the situation when earlier reached agreements are interpreted in an absolutely different way,” Peskov said. “The Russian side absolutely disagrees” with proposals on the issue voiced by its interlocutors, the spokesman said. “The issue remains uncoordinated, the work on the issue will be continued at the level of [foreign] ministers and aides,” Peskov said. On September 21, the participants of the Contact Group on settlement in eastern Ukraine signed a framework agreement on disengaging the warring parties in Donbass. The Contact Group agreed on the principles and a timeframe for disengaging forces of Kiev and militias in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. The first stage envisages the creation of security zones in three areas – near Zolotoye, Luganskaya and Petrovskoye. The troops are withdrawn to create security zones “not less than 2 km in width and 2 km in depth.” The entire process of disengaging forces and hardware, including the preparations for it, should last for no more than 30 days for each area. The document also says that the disengagement of forces may be conducted in other areas after consultations.

Duma Offers to Invite DPR Head to Discuss Situation in Donbass / Ria Novosti / Translated by Quemado Institute / October 21, 2016 / MOSCOW / Member of the State Duma’s International Affairs Committee Kazbek Taysaev proposed to invite the Leader of the DPR [Donetsk People’s Republic] Alexander Zakharchenko to a closed meeting of the committee to discuss the situation in the south-east of Ukraine. “The situation is complicated, and I propose a new meeting to discuss it, and to invite, maybe parliamentarians, perhaps even Alexander Zakharchenko, if he is ready to come,” Said Taysaev at a meeting of the State Duma Committee. “I believe we can discuss the problems that exist there at the committee meeting, maybe in a closed format. During just the last week, ten people were killed, [we heard] from the command structure. People are dying every day near the contact line. I went to the front, saw personnel moving over a small height. There are clashes are every day,” he added. According to him, only Kiev is satisfied with the situation in Donbass. slavoct21-16uMilitia intelligence reports scores of Italian and French mercenaries in Donbass / TASS / October 20, 2016 / DONETSK / The intelligence service of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) has registered up to 80 mercenaries from Italy and France at the Kramatorsk airfield controlled by the Ukrainian military, the DPR Operations Command Spokesman Eduard Basurin said on Thursday. “There are up to 80 foreign mercenaries from Italy and France at the Kramatorsk city airfield,” The Donetsk news agency quoted him as saying. Basurin added that their groups had been heading off to the line of contact every night. The DPR intelligence service regularly monitors Kiev’s deployment of foreign fighters to the line of contact. On September 28, reports indicated that groups with up to 100 Polish mercenaries had arrived in the Mariupol area. Earlier Georgian and Polish guerillas had been repeatedly seen in the combat zone taking part in Ukraine’s offensives and sniper attacks.

slavoct19-16gMotorola: Symbol of Donbass – Death of Symbol of Donbass’s Resistance Will Not Shake Its Faith in Victory / By Kristina Melnikova / Quemado Institute (Eadaily) / October 19, 2016 / Assassination of the hero of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Commander of the Sparta Battalion Arsen Pavlov (Motorola) has become one of the worst news for Donbass so far. Motorola enjoyed respect of both the people and the comrades-in-arms. He was not only a fearless and charismatic fighter (there are lots of such fighters in Novorossiya) but also the face of the whole resistance. And now that Donbass is mourning for him, it is mourning for all defenders dying in this endless war every day. Well-known leader of self-defense forces, Igor Strelkov’s comrade Yevgeny “Prapor” Skripnik has told EADaily about Motorola and has explained why he is one of the symbols of Donbass. “I knew Motorola before we came here (Donbass – EADaily). He was an ordinary fighter. In Slavyansk, he was just like all the others. But there was something striking about him… He showed his worth when we were fighting a group of the Right Sector (banned in Russia – EADaily) in Semyonovka. There he organized a group and managed to throw the enemy back. He was very brave. One of the reasons he became so popular is that he was very active and was not afraid of mass media. He became most popular after the fights for Ilovaysk and the airport. He was the first who entered the territory of the airport and stayed there. He used any chance to attack the enemy. His advantage in this civil war – a war where the fighters are mostly soft ordinary people – was that he was very pushy and tough and always ready to attack,” Prapor said. “In Ukraine, they kept reporting his death and kept attempting his life. He was an icon not only for his own men but also for the enemy. The Ukrainians were afraid of him because he was . . . MORE>> Click here.

slavoct19-16sDonetsk says goodbye to the Hero (photo report) / Essence of Time / October 19, 2016 / At the very morning tens of thousands of Donetsk residents started to line up to say goodbye to the outstanding commander of Sparta battalion, Hero of Donetsk People’s Republic, colonel Arseny Pavlov. The stream of people with flowers who came to pay their last respects to Motorola seemed to be endless. The despicable murder of a person, who during his life indisputably became one of the symbols of resistance, woke up the people, who have been put to sleep by deceptive truces. The enemy counted on breaking and demoralizing us, but received even larger consolidation, confidence and decisiveness to continue the fight. Eternal glory to the Hero! Eternal memory! We are working, brothers! [Photos of the procession, tearful mourners, Eduard Basurin speaking to the massive crowd before the Donetsk Opera House at source.]

slavoct19-16w“Normandy format”: Kiev wants war, Paris and Berlin are confused / Katehon / October 19, 2016 / The meeting of”Normandy format” is scheduled for October 19th in Berlin. The member countries of Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine will discuss the implementation of the Minsk agreements. Moscow still considers the execution of the Minsk agreements as ultimate condition to achieve stability in the Donbass. But it doesn’t have any illusions about Kiev’s desire to observe them: the situation on the front line is constantly heating up. For the last 24 hours Ukrainian army violated ceasefire 253 times. They even used mortars for shelling. It is remarkable that the leaders of Germany, France and Ukraine are planning to hold a separate meeting in Berlin before the “Norman format” in order to coordinate their positions and “engage Russia in meaningful dialogue.” It is also important to note that Kiev’s position clearly shows that Ukraine does not intend to comply with the terms of the Minsk agreements, according to which there must be elections in the People’s Republic, and only after then Ukraine will have control over the border. This statement was published on the website of Peter Poroshenko: “They want elections, but these elections will be played by the Crimean scenario and with the same results when we have the presence of Russian troops in Donbass. We can’t agree with it, so everything now depends on Russia…” It is important to note that many of the OSCE observers stated that there are no Russian military in the Donbass. Some experts argue that Berlin and Paris are intended to use this meeting in order to discuss issues related to the Syrian crisis. However, a spokesman for the Russian= president dismissed this possibility. “The President is open for discussion of Syria, as he told it in India, but tomorrow’s meeting has a “Normandy format” purpose — said Dmitry Peskov.

slavoct19-16uNationalism without a nation and the origin of the Ukrainian conflict / By Adam Garrie / The Duran / October 19, 2016 / The Ukrainian conflict is the ultimate consequence of divide and rule policies imposed on the Russian and eastern Slav people by the rulers of Poland, the Austrian empire and the USSR. The result is the creation of a nationalism rendered the more violent and extreme by its lack of deep roots. / Of the many sad peculiarities surrounding 2014’s coup d’état in Kiev, one of the oddest is that it shows that it is possible to have nationalism without a nation. As a city and region Kiev has long been at the heart of Russian civilisation. It was there in the 9th century that the first Russian state was declared, and where the spiritual journey for Russian unity began. This makes recent events all the more sad, and makes the fascist coup which happened in Kiev in 2014 more like a 21st century version of the Mongol invasion which in 1240 led to the sack of Kiev, which forced many Russians to move north-east, so that the capital of the Russian people became Moscow. Thus begins the tale of the Three Russia’s: Great, Little and White. Whilst Moscow formally established itself as a Tsardom in the 16th century, the western Russian lands were occupied by the then mighty Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. An official policy of Polonisation saw the imposition of Roman Catholicism over Orthodox people. The infusion of Polish culture led to the development of a dialect which combined elements of the Russian and Polish languages. This dialect was the linguistic precursor to what is now referred to as Ukrainian. Not all the Russians in the region took this well. One distinct Russian subculture developed partly in reaction. The Cossacks were people who initially rebelled against Polish-Lithuanian rule, and who gained an increasingly autonomous status known as the Cossack Hetmanate. Acting as mercenary fighters for (at various times) the rulers of Poland, Russia and Ottoman Turkey, they were not an easy . . . MORE>> Click here.

Ex-Soviet leader Gorbachev, George H. W. Bush agree to help normalize Russia-US ties / TASS / October 19, 2016 / Former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev and ex-US President George H. W. Bush intend to contribute to normalizing the relations between Russia and the United States, the Gorbachev Foundation press office told TASS on Wednesday. The relevant agreement was reached during a telephone talk between Gorbachev, George H. W. Bush and former US Secretary of State James Baker, the press office said. “Our experience is the cessation of the cold war and the arms race. During those years, our countries – the USSR and the USA – went through difficult trials and came out of them both in Europe and in the Middle East in a dignified manner,” Gorbachev said in the telephone talk, noting the importance of a constant dialog. “This should be an example for current politicians,” the former Soviet president said. “A compromise can be found in the most difficult situations. And now the goal should be to find a compromise taking into account the parties’ interests. And no one should declare a victory. If we come out of the current impasse, this will be a common victory,” Gorbachev said. The Gorbachev Foundation press office said that George H. W. Bush and Baker had agreed with that. “The interlocutors agreed that they will seek to contribute to normalizing the relations and restoring cooperation between the two countries. They will think about the steps, including joint measures, they could take for this,” the press office said in a statement obtained by TASS. Quemado Institute comments: George H.W. Bush belongs to the neoconservative New World Order Western establishment, whose members profess hostility toward Russia. His cooperative stance, as portrayed in this article, contradicts not only the predominant policies of the ruling elite, but also the hawkish position of Hillary Clinton, whom Bush claims to endorse. Is this a PR stunt to capture the peace vote from Trump?

slavoct18-16qThe Knight of the Cheerful Countenance / By Alexander Kots; Translated by Gleb Bazov / Slavyangrad.org / October 17, 2016 / This callsign—Motorola—Arsen Pavlov chose himself long before the events in the Donbass. In Russia, he served three years as a combat signaller in the 77th Brigade of the Naval Infantry. That is where his nickname was born, and it remained with him when he continued his military career after the mandatory draft service and through two tours of duty in Chechnya. It is in Chechnya that he received his first combat experience, becoming addicted to war. There are those who, caught in the meat grinder of bloody battles, emerge from the experience with ground-up souls and a persistent aversion to guns. And then there are fanatics, who not only like to fight and are skilled at it, but also manage to preserve their humanity inside them. Motorola was one of the latter. A soldier from God, a fan of Russian rap music and an irrepressible wisecracker. We met in the spring of 2014, when it was still possible to take the direct route into Slavyansk, even though fighting already raged in the city and on its outskirts.slavoct18-16p A passenger van had come under Ukrainian artillery fire not far from the Karandashi checkpoint on the road to Andreyevka. Zakharchenko Says DPR Militia Ready to Storm Kiev / Translated by Quemado Institute / Vzglyad / October 18, 2016 / On the program “An Evening with Vladimir Solovyov,” the President of the DPR [Donetsk People’s Republic] Alexander Zakharchenko said that the republic’s militia units, if necessary, are ready to storm Kiev. He said that the death of his “friend Arseny (Arseny Pavlov, known by call sign ‘Motorola’)” will not end for them (the Ukrainian authorities).” Answering the question of program host, which was posted on Youtube, about how ready the militia is to repel attacks from the Ukrainian security officials, Zakharchenko said: “Our military units are ready to storm Kiev,” noting that it is a question of political will. Zakharchenko also called the killing of Motorola terrorism national scale. As stated previously in the Ministry of State Security of the proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, the murder of the commander of one of the DPR militia divisions, Arseny Pavlov, is an attempt by Kiev representatives to disrupt the peaceful settlement of the conflict in Donbass. On Tuesday, the OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier said that Motorola’s associates are ready to answer for their comrade’s murder. On Sunday evening, it became known about the bombing death in Donetsk of DPR militia commander Arseny Pavlov, call sign “Motorola”. A subordinate was also killed. Later, the network showed footage from the murder scene. The Head of the proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic Alexander Zakharchenko said that it is already known who ordered the killing of Motorola. Zakharchenko also said that by attacking Pavlov, Kiev has violated the truce and declared war on the DPR. In turn, the head proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic Igor Plotnitsky stated that Motorola’s murder shows that Kiev has chosen the path of war. The representative of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on military operations Andrey Lysenko said that Motorola was “lucky to die” because he faced “inevitable penalty of life imprisonment.” A Farewell to Arsen Pavlov, known as Motorola, is scheduled for Wednesday in Donetsk. The battalion commander was buried with military honors on the territory of the proclaimed DPR. The DPR announced three days of mourning.

Putin plans to take part in Normandy Four talks first time in a year / TASS / October 18, 2016 / THe Russian president’s decision to take part in the meeting was unrelated to the escalation of the situation in Ukraine. / MOSCOW / Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Berlin on October 19 to take part in the meeting of the Normandy Four group, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. “Tomorrow the president will go to Berlin where he will hold talks with Merkel, Hollande and Poroshenko,” Peskov told reporters. Militia commander murder: The official stressed that Putin’s decision to take part in the meeting was unrelated to the escalation of the situation in Ukraine. “No, one cannot say so, although indeed the security situation along the line of demarcation leaves a lot to be desired, and provocations continue. All this is not conducive to finding solutions to the crisis,” he said when asked whether Putin’s decision to take part in the Berlin meeting stemmed from the deterioration of the situation after the murder of one of the militia leaders in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Arseny Pavlov, known as Motorola. Pavlov was killed in the evening on October 16 when an explosive device went off in a Donetsk residential house. DPR head Alexander Zakharchenko noted that the murder was “a challenge to the entire republic.” He put the blame for Pavlov’s death on Ukraine’s intelligence services officers who, according to Zakharchenko, “are on the DPR territory illegally” and accused the Ukrainian president of “violating the truce.” Situation is complex: The Kremlin believes that Kiev’s calls for forcing Moscow into compliance with the Minsk Accords indicate how complex the situation is. “Take a look at the Ukrainian presidential website and you will read there that Poroshenko, Merkel and Hollande have agreed to hold a Normandy format meeting on October 19 for the purpose of forcing Russia into compliance with the Minsk Accords,” Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said. “That this wording has been used on the Ukrainian presidential website merely indicates how complicated the situation is and to what degree Kiev is not ready to honor with its own obligation sunder the Minsk Accords. The press secretary stressed that Vladimir Putin is ready to do everything to push forward the Minsk process on the Ukrainian conflict settlement within the Normandy Four format. “Despite this [Kiev’s reluctance to implement Minsk agreements], President Putin remains open and ready for talks, ready to do everything possible and necessary to push forward the process within the Normandy Four format,” Peskov said. Syria at the meeting: Syria won’t be discussed at the talks, Peskov added. “The president is open to discuss the Syrian issue with everyone, he said about this just yesterday. But the goal of tomorrow’s meeting is talks in the Normandy format,” Peskov said. The Kremlin spokesman gave no details if bilateral talks of Putin with his counterparts were on the agenda besides the four-party meeting, which will discuss the Ukrainian settlement. “The decision on holding the meeting was finalized just two or three hours ago. So it is difficult to say now if separate meetings are due to be held. One way or another, the leaders will meet and have a possibility to talk to each other in various formats,” he explained.

Motorola, Arseny Pavlov (–Sputnik/AFP/Vasily Maximov)

Murder of Donetsk Militia Commander Threatens to Reignite Ukraine’s Civil War / Sputnik / October 17, 2016 / On Sunday night, Donetsk People’s Republic militia commander Arseny Pavlov, aka Motorola, was killed in an explosion of an elevator in a Donetsk high-rise. DPR leader Alexander Zakharchenko called the attack a declaration of war by Kiev. Analysts warn that the brazen attack could lead to a resumption of hostilities. According to local media, Pavlov, the commander of the Sparta Battalion special forces unit, was killed after a remotely-detonated improvised explosive device blew up in an elevator shaft in the apartment building where he and his family lived. DPR authorities suspect Ukrainian saboteurs to be behind the attack. Pavlov was threatened directly by President Petro Poroshenko just last month. In early September, in a ceremony dedicated to Ukrainian servicemen killed in eastern Ukraine, including Igor Branovitsky, who died in 2014 amid brutal fighting for Donetsk Airport, Poroshenko claimed that Pavlov had murdered the soldier in cold blood in captivity, and vowed that the DPR commander would “answer for the death of a Ukrainian hero.” here have been multiple attempts on Pavlov’s life over the course of the two-and-a-half year civil war in eastern Ukraine, which began in April 2014 after Kiev moved troops to the regions of Donetsk and Lugansk to put down uprisings against new authorities in Kiev. The commander had survived two assassination attempts in just the last five months, and was twice wounded in fighting with Ukrainian forces in battles in 2014 and 2015. In other words, Pavlov had a price on his head long before Poroshenko decided to try to implicate him in the deaths of Ukrainian POWs. Pavlov was born in 1983 in Ukhta, northern Russia. He served two tours in the Russian anti-terrorist operation in Chechnya, where he got his nickname ‘Motorola’ for his work as a signals operator. Before arriving in Ukraine, he lived in neighboring Rostov-on-Don. In 2014, observing the coup d’état in Kiev, and hearing the threats made by nationalists against Ukraine’s Russian minority, Pavlov came to eastern Ukraine, eventually joining the self-proclaimed Donetsk republic’s militia. He and his unit were given numerous medals for the defense of DPR territory against Ukrainian forces. Pavlov held the title ‘Hero of the DPR’. Assassination Threatens to Destroy Shaky Peace: Given the deterioration of the security situation in eastern Ukraine in recent months, with recriminations on both sides about non-compliance with the Minsk agreements, experts are concerned that Pavlov’s murder could result in a full-scale resumption in hostilities. On Sunday night, shortly after finding out about the commander’s death, DPR leader Alexander . . . MORE>> Click here.

The incident has been officially confirmed as an assassination carried out by Ukrainian special forces. Over the course of the war in Donbass, Ukrainian media claimed dozens of times that Motorola had been killed. This time, however, reliable sources have confirmed the news. The Ministry of Defense of the DPR has officially stated that “According to preliminary information, Motorola was killed as a result of a terrorist operation of a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group. Upon returning home, a remote-detonated explosive device was set off in the elevator.” nterfax was similarly told by an “informed source” that “According to preliminary information, in the elevator of the house in which Arsen Pavlov lived, an improvised explosive device was detonated. The militiaman, as planned, was in the epicenter of the explosion at the moment and was fatally traumatized.” According to numerous news sources in Russia and Donbass, a state of emergency has been announced in Donetsk and an investigation has been launched. The DPR’s defense ministry has since announced that a tightened “anti-terrorist regime” is in effect. Motorola, who became an internationally recognized icon of the Donbass people’s defense forces, is famous for having participated in the most intense battles of the war since the beginning of the conflict. Having been subjected to numerous assassination attempts over the past two years, the last one was on August 25th, but failed. Motorola’s last known assignment was being sent to the Lugansk People’s Republic to provide security during the suppression of an alleged coup attempt. [VIDEO available at source.]

slavoct17-16yRT: NatWest ‘freezes Russian channel’s UK bank accounts’ / BBC News / October 17, 2016 / NatWest bank has frozen the accounts of Russia’s state-run broadcaster RT, its editor-in-chief says. Margarita Simonyan tweeted: “They’ve closed our accounts in Britain. All our accounts. ‘The decision is not subject to review.’ Praise be to freedom of speech!” RT says the bank gave no explanation for its decision. It said the entire Royal Bank of Scotland Group, of which NatWest is part, was refusing to service RT. The broadcaster, previously known as Russia Today, says NatWest wrote to its London office saying: “We have recently undertaken a review of your banking arrangements with us and reached the conclusion that we will no longer provide these facilities.” The bank said its decision was final and it is “not prepared to enter into any discussion.” A letter posted online by the channel appears to show that the freeze is not in effect yet. It warns that banking facilities will be “cancelled and closed” on 12 December. Ms Simonyan said the closure included the personal accounts of some senior RT staff working in the UK. She told Russian state media: “They haven’t explained the reasons and I think they can’t explain them because there can’t be any reasons. We have an absolutely transparent operation there, absolutely transparent funding. There have never been any complaints in this regard at all. “They have failed to defeat us by simply vilifying us, by picking on our broadcast, so they decided to try the banking flank: ‘Try broadcasting when all your accounts have been closed.’ Yet we will try.” RT, which is run by the Kremlin, has previously been sanctioned by UK broadcasting regulator Ofcom for biased reporting. This included claims that the BBC “staged” a chemical weapons attack for a news report on Syria. The BBC won a case against the TV channel after complaining to Ofcom, saying the allegations made in a programme called The Truthseeker were false and struck “at the heart” of its obligations to accuracy and impartiality. Ofcom ruled that elements of the programme were “materially misleading”. Russian media outlets have made inroads into the UK recently. The state-funded Sputnik news agency set up in Edinburgh in August to broadcast live radio programmes from Scotland. It said its goal was “telling the untold” to Scottish and UK audiences, although critics say it will act as a Kremlin mouthpiece. Quemado Institute Chief Editor’s note: The tragedy of Motorola’s death has come as a shock to us. Some say Zakharchenko has declared a state of war. There is no time this evening to prepare an article, as Infowars.com founder Alex Jones says the US has all but declared war on Russia. We simply do not know if this is the eve of World War III, or if it is just hysteria. All we do know is that tensions have been wildly escalating day by day, and that some geopolitical experts such as Alexander Dugin have expressed fears the Obama administration will start a world war in order to cancel the elections and stop Donald Trump. We at Quemado Institute have emergency preparations to make. There may not be much news reported here, at this the most critical of times.

This news was reported by journalists by the official representative of the DPR’s Ministry of Defense, Eduard Basurin. “Ukrainian units, violating their obligations to maintain a ceasefire from 13:50, have started to attack our positions. After conducting artillery training with the use of 152 mm guns, enemy units went on the attack with a force of up to one company near the residential area of Leninskoe,” the DPR’s defense department’s spokesperson stated. According to Basurin, the attack is ongoing under the cover of mortar fire, and a fire fight is currently underway. “The preliminary losses of the enemy include one infantry fighting vehicle destroyed, and 5 security officers eliminated,” he reported. The defense ministry of the DPR has also demanded that the OSCE take measures to address Ukrainian security forces’ violation of the ceasefire. slavoct14-16nMilitia Report Five Ukrainian Servicemen Killed in Donbass / TASS / October 14, 2016 / The offensive that was reportedly launched by the Kiev forces, has been rebuffed. / DONETSK / At least five Ukrainian servicemen were killed by Donbass militias in Kiev forces’ offensive near the village of Leninskoye in the south of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), representative of the DPR operational command, Eduard Basurin, said on Friday. “A Ukrainian unit (company) made a penetration attempt. We knocked out one infantry combat vehicle, five Ukrainian servicemen were killed, a vehicle carrying ammunition was damaged,” he told the Rossiya 24 TV channel. Forces of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) have repelled the offensive, the spokesman said. “The offensive has been rebuffed but Ukrainian troops continue shelling of the DPR positions from 82mm and 120mm caliber mortars,” the Donetsk News Agency quoted him as saying. According to the DPR defense ministry, Ukrainian troops are now regrouping and evacuating the injured. The DPR command urges the OSCE monitoring mission to take immediate steps to ensure the cessation of hostilities by the Ukrainian armed forces in the southern direction of the contact line. On October 12, the Ukrainian military reportedly tried to break through the DPR defense line near the villages of Leninskoye and Kominternovo in Novoazovsky district. Mercenaries from Poland and Georgia allegedly took part in the attack on the Ukrainian side. The attack was rebuffed, with the Ukrainian army losses amounting to about 15 killed and more than 30 wounded.

Kiev Forces Shell Luganskaya Village to Delay Troops’ Pullout / NewsFront / October 14, 2016 / The Ukrainian side is intentionally delaying the pullout of military personnel and armaments from the engagement line in the Donbass area, Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Envoy Denis Pushilin said on Friday. “Ukraine continues delaying the process of troops’ pullout and the situation at the engagement line is exacerbating,” Pushilin was quoted by the Donetsk News Agency as saying. “Ukraine continues shelling the republic’s populated areas and provocations go on. That is, they are shelling and then say that they can’t pull out their troops due to this. This is absolutely absurd,” Pushilin said. The Donetsk People’s Republic is ready for the next stage of the pullout of military hardware but this is impossible due to Kiev’s unwillingness to stop the shelling, he added. The participants in the Contact Group on the political settlement in southeast Ukraine signed a framework agreement at their meeting in Minsk on September 21 on disengaging military personnel and combat hardware in three experimental security zones in the Donbass region. The document defines the procedure of disengaging forces of the warring sides near the village of Petrovskoye (the Donetsk People’s Republic), the township of Luganskaya and the town of Zolotoye within the area of responsibility of the Lugansk People’s Republic militia. As of today, the village of Luganskaya remains the last out of the three experimental security zones where the warring sides have not pulled out their forces. The fifth attempt was disrupted through Kiev’s fault on Thursday to pull out troops in that area.

slavoct14-16eSituation in Donbass Has Been Aggravating / Fact.International / October 13, 2016 / After a short period of de-escalation in Donbas region, Eastern Ukraine, numerous ceasefire violations has started again. As Donetsk news agencies reported on October 12, Ukrainian side does not stop shelling in the southern direction. The shelling protracts restoration of power supply in five villages of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the mayor of Novoazovsk region Anatoliy Yaanovskiy informed. ‘Villages as Sergeevka, Leninskoe, Dzerzhinskoe, Zaichenko, Kominternovo are with no power now. Utility services cannot start restoration work because Kiev troops restart shelling all the time since last Saturday’, it was pointed out. Local fighting in this region was provoked by Ukrainian attempt to break through DPR positions close to Kominternovo and Leninskoe. But Ukrainian military units failed and as a result lost 15 mercenaries and 25 were wounded. From the opposite side two soldiers of the DPR killed, five more got wounded. It was not only militaries, who suffered. Eight houses got different damages in the village Trudovskie in the west of Donetsk. It was pointed out that 333 cases of shelling with the use of forbidden by the Minsk armament were fixed. Earlier it was reported that Kiev troops targeted last night Zaytsevo, as a result of this several houses damaged. On October 13 the DPR Head Aleksandr Zakharchenko has stated the serious aggravation of the situation on the line of demarcation of the parties in Donbass, including in the area of Debaltsevo. ‘The situation is escalating not only in the area of Novoazovsk. The situation has aggravated in the area of Debaltsevo; the situation in the areas of Pesky and near Dokuchayevsk remains tense as well. There is nothing about disengagement of forces and facilities in other areas,’ pointed out Aleksandr Zakharchenko.

slavoct14-16uAnother night of bombs and terror for the people of Donetsk, and American snipers arrive / By Christelle Neant (DONi Press), translated by Tom Winter / Fort Russ / OCtober 13, 2016 / Last night was once more a night of terror for the civilian population of the Peoples Republic of Donetsk, and especially for those at the edge of the capital. “From 18:00 till midnight the Ukrainian side was shelling the localitites of Trudovskiye and Aleksandrovka of the Petrovsky district of Donetsk, and also the territory of the airport and the industrial zone. 127 shells of 82mm and 120mm calibre, and also eight artillery projectiles of 122mm calibre came in on these districts,” said an official of the DPR. The Gorlovka region wasn’t spared either the night before, as no fewer than 15 mortars landed on the village of Zaitsevo. The Ukrainian army also used infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers and small arms last night. And though the number of victims and the amount of destruction is yet to be confirmed, further south, at Sakhanka, a civilian of 53 years was injured during the bombardment of the area by the Ukrainian army with 82 mm mortars. The previous night in the same area, two civilians were wounded in the bombing and 15 houses were damaged. And yesterday, a Ukrainian sabotage attack, covered by diversionary fire of mortars and artillery, killed two soldiers of the DPR and kidnapped a third. (The positions of the Ukrainian army are quite near the front line town of Shirokino.) In violation of its mandate, OSCE refused to register the bombing: “Yesterday the OSCE observers refused to register the bombing of the southern villages of the Republic and to help restore the cease-fire,” said a spokesman for the operational command of the army of DPR. Decidedly, the more this goes on, the more we have to wonder what’s the use of OSCE being there, especially when you see its silence with the arrival on the front of new military equipment and foreign snipers on the . . . slavoct14-16sZakharchenko: Ukraine Has Conducted Aviation Bombardments of Donbass / Kharkov News Agency / Translated by Quemado Institute / October 13, 2016 / Leader of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Alexander Zakharchenko said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have once again broken the Minsk agreement, using aircraft for attacks on the territory of Donbass. According to Zakharchenko, during recent fighting the Ukrainian army attacked positions of the DPR Armed Forces with the use of a helicopter gunship. “Recently, there was an attempt to attack us from a helicopter. It ended badly. The helicopter was damaged and landed on the territory controlled by Ukraine,” said the head of the DPR. Note that yesterday the Armed Forces of Ukraine attempted to break through the militia defense line in the area of the village of Kominternovo, in the south of the DPR. The operational command said that the battle group moved with mercenaries. They tried twice to get around to different destinations of the DPR army positions with a view to their capture. As a result of retaliatory fire by the DPR, Ukrainian army units were forced to retreat, with 15 men killed and 25 wounded. According to the DPR sources, the helicopter landed on the outskirts of the Krasnogorovka settlement. Sources in the command elaborated that the area was locked down and mobile communication was turned off. On Thursday, October 13, head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko announced that the Ukrainian military, with the support of a combat helicopter, had attempted to carry out an attack on the DPR militia’s positions but the helicopter had been shot down. The previous time the Ukrainian militia used aviation during hostilities was on January 19, 2015, when several Sukhoi Su-25 strike fighters were seen over Donbass. The Minsk Memorandum dated on Septebmer 19, 2014, bans the use of combat aviation and unmanned aircraft in the ceasefire zone along the line of contact, excluding the unmanned aircraft of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission.

slavoct13-16kA Graham Newsletter (#14) Updates from the DLPR – ‘gulags’, and more! / By Graham Phillips / The TruthSpeaker / October 13, 2016 / Hello once more! Firstly, I’m glad to say that things have calmed down a bit since the last newsletter, which found me dealing with death threats, and more, from the Ukrainian side. Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been pleased to focus more attention on work in Donbass, and less on processing a barrage of messages, online lynchmobs etc, threatening my instant demise. I’ve been pleased to start a new series here, on this site, giving you all factual updates from the DPR, and LPR. You can read the first one here, about the upheaval in the LPR, as it was, and the second here, about the recent primary elections held here. I’m also going to be starting another new series soon, when English subtitles are added to videos from a little back, which still have relevance, so look out for that! As for now, there are already English subs on a lot of new reportage – not to mention the videos in the above updates! Firstly, I was delighted to present my new film from Lugansk, with Oleg Somov (who does the production, effects for my film projects), a Master Class here by legendary . . . MORE>> Click here. slavoct14-16qWill the Russian Spring rise again in the South-East? / By Aleksey Polubota (Svobodnaya Pressa), translated by J. Arnoldski / Fort Russ / October 14, 2016 / The Ukrainian information space has once again been filled with statements that the country is threatened by separatism. The first to voice this was the ex-governor of the Kharkov region, Igor Raynin, who told journalists on October 12th of the need to immediately adopt three defense programs that could help stabilize the situation. He did not voice any specifics, but did emphasize that the Kharkov region is a strategic region as it shares more than 300 kilometers of a border with Russia and Donbass. Anatoly Lopata, a retired colonel general, former chief of staff of the UAF, and former deputy defense minister, added fuel to the fire. He agreed with Raynin, but added that Kharkov ended up outside of the ATO zone because strong people managed to stay in power when the population was faced with the choice. On October 13th, this “marathon” was continued by an SBU general major and ex-head of the SBU’s investigative department, Vasiliy Vovk. Vovk stated: “Odessa and Kharkov. If not now, then in the foreseeable future these two regions will become our problem. I do not want to go into details, but pay attention to the position of people living in these regions, not the words of politicians or officials, but the situation of ordinary people.” According to Vovk, protest sentiments are growing in the Kherson region as well, where people are extremely dissatisfied with the unbridled behavior of militants from the Crimean-Tatar nationalist battalions. As is the usual case, this SBU officer sees “the machinations of Russia” behind the discontent of the population of the South East. Meanwhile, Ukrainian officials don’t want to talk about the social reasons underpinning the growth of protest moods. But they are staring them in the face. On October 13th, more than 700 employees of the Kharkov energy company INTEK appealed to President Petro Poroshenko with the demand . . . MORE>> Click here.

slavoct13-16uDonetsk Defense: Situation Report, 13.10.16 / DONi News / October 13, 2016 / The situation in the Donetsk People’s Republic remains tense. The Ukrainian security officers 168 times have violated the ceasefire regime over last 24 hours, using heavy artillery and mortars 127 times. The Ukrainian party under the passive eye of the OSCE observers has changed from passive shelling of houses to the active attacks to seize our territories. Yesterday, the Ukrainian party made an attempt to conduct a breakthrough operation and seize our territory near the localities of Leninskoye and Kominternovo. Because of the fact that the ordinary Ukrainian soldiers are tired of this fratricidal war, it were the Nazis from the Azov terrorist organization and the Polish and Georgian mercenaries who came to Donbass just to kill and make profits out of blood of civilians. Having got a severe rebuff, the mercenaries-murderers were forced to retreat on their initial positions, having lost more than 15 killed terrorists on the battlefield and up to 30 gunmen were wounded. The proof of the fact that the punishers have sustained mass losses is the arrival of two helicopters in this region to evacuate the wounded and the use of seven . . . MORE>> Click here.

slavoct13-16vForeign mercenaries killed in failed UAF offensive / Translated by J. Arnoldski (RusVesna) / Fort Russ / October 13, 2016 / A UAF attempt to break through DPR positions in the area of Kominternovo and Leninskoe ended in the death of 15 foreign mercenaries and 25 wounded Kiev fighters. “Today, the command of the so-called anti-terrorist operation made a mad attempt to break through our defenses in the district between the residential area of Kominternovo and Leninskoe. As a result of the decisive actions by DPR units, the enemy was forced to abandon its hopeless plans after suffering losses – more than 15 mercenaries were killed and 25 were wounded,” the deputy commander of the DPR operational command, Eduard Basurin, reported. Basurin noted that two DPR servicemen were killed during the battle and 5 were wounded. As Basurin explained, groups of mercenaries comprising up to 30 men twice tried from different directions to maneuver around the positions of the republic’s army with the goal of seizing them. The enemy covered its offensive with mortar fire. “Due to the extremely low training of the Ukrainian armed forces’ units, mercenaries from Poland and Georgia were put into the operation to accomplish these goals. We demand that the leadership of the OSCE SMM assess the actions of the Ukrainian command on this fact as well as judge the crimes of Ukrainian reconnaissance and saboteur groups that led to the death of 2 DPR servicemen and one captured on October 8th,” Basurin concluded. As Russian Spring reported earlier, today the UAF opened fire on the village of Kominternovo in the southern DPR and attempted to capture the surrounding territory.

Gorlovka’s district also wasn’t spared: 15 mortar shells hit the village of Zaytsevo. The Ukrainian army has also used APC’s, rocket-propelled grenades and small arms. Damages and the number of victims in these zones are still specified, but it’s already known about one dead to the south of Sakhanka. The night before, 15 houses had been damaged during the shelling, causing the death of two persons. Yesterday, two DPR soldiers died and one was captured as a result of the rigged sabotage operation conducted by the Ukrainian army. It was covered by artillery and mortar fire from the Ukrainian army positions near the town of Shirokino, close to the front line. The OSCE refused to register the fact of bombardment, thus going to complete violation of the mandate. “It is important to note that namely because of the OSCE mission’s inaction could have occured this accident. slavoct13-16zThe Situation in the DPR and the LPR / Original: Colonel Cassad / Translated by Sergey Bobkov, Edited by Gleb Bazov / Slavyangrad.org / October 9, 2016 / Alexander Zhuchkovsky’s October 2016 situation report on the Donbass: The Alleged Coup in the Lugansk People’s Republic: For a number of reasons (that require no explanation) I have had practically no involvement with the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) for over a year. I did my best to transfer the majority of our volunteers to the military units of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) back in 2015. Most of my civilian acquaintances from Russia have also elected to continue their work in Donetsk, rather than stay in Lugansk. As a consequence, I do my best not to interfere with the local Lugansk affairs and very rarely offer my commentary on the processes taking place in the LPR. I have formed an overall opinion of the situation in the LPR, and I have voiced it on more than one occasion. As for the allegations regarding the planning of a coup, I have substantial reasons to doubt the official storyline. From what I can gather, the current repressions and assassinations taking place in Lugansk are a continuation of the never-ending personal and commercially driven infighting between the former and the incumbent political and military leadership that has been simmering since 2014. In other words, the recent events have roots in the fears and suspicions of the current Lugansk leadership, as well as in the aspiration to establish in the LPR a vertical chain of command at the political and at the economic level. In reality, no one is foolish enough to organize a coup in the LPR, even if certain individuals have now been officially labelled as suspects. The reason why is rather simple: the people who are currently being investigated understand very well that the only way to secure power in the LPR is in back-rooms of Moscow, rather than through an armed uprising. Even if someone were to succeed in removing the current Moscow appointees, and take their offices, these people would be immediately replaced with new figureheads, under direct and complete Russian control. Despite the very brutal methods of “establishing order” in the LPR (whereas in Donetsk problems are often resolved with little more than a private “consultation”, in Lugansk assassinations are the rule), the past two years have failed to yield an established vertical chain of command, and the ruling elites are driven by near-total suspicion and mistrust toward each other. It got to the point that the head of the LPR, Igor Plotnitsky, had to ask the DPR for assistance (with Zakharchenko sending the Sparta Battalion as reinforcements), because he was not convinced that the interests of the group in power could be protected by his own security forces. The Military Situation Report: While fighting and artillery exchanges along the line of contact between the belligerents continue on a daily basis, compared to the clashes in August and September, they have been brought down to a minimum. The reduction of violence is linked to the steps taken by Russia in the middle of September. The September 15 unilateral . . . MORE>> Click here.

slavoct13-16wWhy Would Pentagon Pretend to Fly Russia’s Military Jets? / By Martin Berger / New Eastern Outlook / October 13, 2016 / The Internet has lately been filled with pictures of American military pilots rushing towards US warplanes closely resembling Russia’s Su-34, painted in a recognizable light blue paint scheme that has never been used in the US military, but is routinely used by the Russian Air Force. But this was not a demonstration of US pilots finally filling the seats of Russian hardware, provoked by the fact that US military contractors failed to deliver a competitive fifth-generation fighter, alas. Though it’s true that the Lockheed Martin F-35 has been a bitter failure riddled by criticism from all sides, including the American “hawk in chief” – Chairman of the United States Senate Committee on Armed Services, John McCain. During the previous stages the servicemen learned to deflect the attack of the opposing force and launch a counter-offensive, crossing a water barrier and gaining a foothold on the opposite bank, as well as night combat. A large number of military hardware and personnel of various military divisions were engaged, which allowed to polish the coordination of actions and tactical cooperation of large military units in the conditions of complicated operations. According to the script of the final day of drills, the units of the People’s Militia, having pierced through the enemy’s defense, are counter-attacked and outnumbered by the enemy. slavoct10-16y“We have no right to lose”: Russian volunteers in Donbass will never give up / By Anna Dolgareva / Sott.net (from Fort Russ) / October 10, 2016 / In 2014, Donbass was filled with Russian volunteers. This evoked enormous enthusiasm among people. Officially, in August 2014, the number of 3,000-4,000 such volunteers was named. In reality, around 10 times more Russian volunteers have come through Novorossiya. Volunteer militiamen. Doctors. Humanitarian workers. And not only Russians. Anti-fascists from all over the world came to Donbass. This formed a motley and heterogenous militia including everyone from marginals and desperate tattooed lads who had nothing to lose to intellectuals from St. Petersburg…Most were young and forged the date of birth in their passports so as to not be kicked out, but there were also retirees. There were communists and monarchists. All kinds of different people. They all probably had one thing in common: a passionate spark and anxiety in the soul that doesn’t allow one to live with violence and injustice. This anxiety drove them into the war, into the thick of it all. Then things got complicated when the war gave way to a nasty world. The external, clear, and absolute enemy opted for a second plan. Meanwhile, other problems appeared which were not so clear. Many had left their families behind in Russia and these families called them home. Some considered their work done while some got bored with the new military bureaucracy that replaced the field mess that they had gotten used to. Overall, there were many reasons why people went back. Many, however, returned. But not all. Many remained. If you ask why, you hear the most different answers. Some say that things aren’t over. Some say that if they leave, then Kiev will snatch . . . MORE>> Click here.

slavoct9-16uDonetsk Defense: Situation Report, 09.10.16 / DONi News / October 9, 2016 / The situation in the Donetsk People`s Republic continues deteriorating. Over the last 24 hours the Ukrainian forces violated a ceasefire regime two hundred fifty two times, among it, with a use of prohibited by the Minsk agreements weaponry – one hundred thirty six times. Annihilation of the Donbass civilians was conducted by the following war criminals of Ukraine following the order of illegal and puppet state authorities: The commander of 58 special mechanized infantry brigade Dropaty, whose subordinate detachments launched thirty seven mines of 120 and 82mm caliber on the localities Yasinovataya and Krutaya. The commander of 36 special naval infantry brigade Delyatsky whose subordinate punitive shelled the localities Leninskoye and Sakhanka and launched on residential buildings ninety nine mines and artillery missiles of 122, 120 and 82mm caliber. slavoct9-16pDonbass defender Rafael Marques Lusvarghi arrested in Ukraine / Slavyangrad.org / October 9, 2016 / At approximately 9:00am on Thursday, October 6, 2016, Rafael Marques Lusvarghi, a Brazilian volunteer who served in the Donbass, defending the freedom of its people, in the period from September 2014 to October 2015, was detained by the Ukrainian State Security Service (SBU) in Kiev’s Borispol Airport. The SBU has since announced that Rafael will be charged under Article 258-3 (creation of a terrorist group or terrorist organization) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The Circumstances of Rafael’s Arrest It is not immediately clear how Rafael found himself in the capital of Ukraine—the very state against whose brutal assault, terror tactics, and illegal military aggression he defended the Donbass—but it is common ground that he did not come to Borispol voluntarily. Several anecdotal reports suggest that the plane taking Rafael from Dublin to Moscow was diverted to Kiev, landing in Borispol, where SBU operatives were waiting to take him into custody. According to another source, identified as Rafael’s friend from Brazil, SBU operatives operating under false Russian identities lured him into returning to Russia—after he had left the Donbass—by promising him employment in the field of ship security. He was making the trip to Moscow to discuss the offer. The possibility of Rafael boarding a plane that he knew would land in Kiev is remote. Likewise, a cursory review of available routes reveals no Moscow-bound flights departing from Europe with a stopover in Kiev. Incorporating the Ukrainian capital into the itinerary of a straightforward trip from Dublin to Moscow would require intention, effort and uncharacteristic imprudence on the part of a respected and experienced military officer, and, coming back to reality, is easily avoided by taking the most common routes. Western Involvement Indicates Alarm Over the Foreign Volunteers in the Donbass: At least one of the sources has alleged that the United Kingdom is the party responsible for the change in the flight plan of Rafael’s plane. Mozgovoy, Dremov, Ischenko, Bednov

Who Killed Dremov and Ischenko (Theory by LPR journalist) / By Alexander Krot, Translated by Tatzhit Mihailovich / Fort Russ / October 9, 2016 / On the tragic day of December 12th, 2015, the legendary Cossack leader Pavel Leonidovich Dremov was assassinated via a bomb was installed in his car. He was driving to his own wedding. He was a complicated man with an amazing destiny – a simple construction worker who made history. His death caused a lot of comment, both from friends and from enemies, not leaving anyone indifferent. There are several versions regarding the causes and culprits in his assassination. According to one version, Dremov was killed due to arguments over coal smuggling in the region. (Because he knew too much, or was impeding someone’s business). Another version blames Plotnitsky, the head of LPR, perhaps even with Moscow’s approval. The third version blames Kiev, stating that the whole thing was a State Security operation. I can not comment on the first version because I do not know enough about coal smuggling. However, this version seems unlikely to me, because (according to mass media) a lot of people were involved in smuggling scandals, and many people tried to stop this activity, and no one got killed on either side. In my opinion, the whole topic of coal smuggling seemed to be blown out of proportion – simply used by some political forces to discredit opponents. Coal deliveries from LPR to Ukraine were carried out completely legally, and with Moscow’s blessing. The purpose was: first, to receive electrical power from the Ukrainian side in exchange, and second, to generate revenue for the republic’s budget. So this version (assassination due to “coal money”) is highly unlikely, and can be discarded. The second version, quite popular online, is that the murder was done by order of Plotnitsky and sanctioned by the Kremlin. This is also unlikely, in my opinion. Why? Well, let me list the reasons. Firstly, even if Pavel Dremov was somewhat hotheaded, he was essentially apolitical and without any serious government ambitions, unlike Bednov(Batman) and Mozgovoy. By the time of his death, he was almost completely detached from politics, and his disagreements with LPR leadership were laid to rest. In his latest interviews, he stated that it was a bad time to start arguments within LPR, and everyone needed to work together in order to win the war. Dremov’s cossack regiment was one of the first . . . MORE>> Click here.

slavoct9-16vLarge-scale brigade tactical drills in DPR, part II: Stream crossing / Essence of Time / October 9, 2016 / The second stage of the several-days long brigade tactical drills of DPR People’s Militia took place on October 5. Crossing the stream as a part of counter-offensive after successfully repelling an attempt of the enemy to break through the lines of defense of the Republic was exercised. The hardware crossed the stream on the go, without any preparation of the place of crossing by combat engineers. Tanks and trucks crossed through the ford, while the infantry fighting vehicles crossed the stream by swimming. Having crossed the stream, the brigade tactical group suppressed the gun nests of the enemy and dug in on the opposite bank. Republic’s Defense Minister Vladimir Kononov was present at the training grounds and evaluated the result of the drills as a solid “B”. All targets were eliminated, the results of the units that participated in the drills were within the training standards. The 3rd brigade of DPR Armed Forces, with several battalion-tactical groups and a tank battalion from other divisions of the army assigned to it, was the main striking force. We will cover all stages of the drills in greater detail in one of the upcoming video reports.

slavoct9-16wLarge-scale brigade tactical drills in DPR, part III: Night drills / Essence of Time / October 9, 2016 / We visited one of the most important stages of the large-scale days-long drills of DPR People’s Militia — night firing and maneuvers. Just like in the previous days, a large number of military hardware and personnel were engaged in the drills. The joint brigade-tactical group counter-attacked the two flanks of the opposing force. The skies were lit by illumination flares, the direction of fire was “highlighted” by tracer bullets. The positions of the opposing force were suppressed by small arms, large-caliber machine guns and tanks. The tasks set by commanders were successfully completed, DPR army units polished the cooperation at night time and demonstrated high standards of preparation. Two years of experience show that the activity of Ukrainian army is the highest during the night. This is why the commanders of the People’s Militia deal a lot of attention to this stage of preparing their soldiers. We will tell in greater detail about the night drills in one of the upcoming video reports. [Two more photos at source.]

slavoct9-16xMH17 and the JIT: A Flawed Investigation / By James O;Neill / New Eastern Oulook / October 7, 2016 / On Tuesday 28 September 2016 the results of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) investigation into the shooting down of Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17 on 14 July 2014 were released. Their report has been widely awaited and was expected to provide answers to many of the key questions left unanswered by the report of the Dutch Safety Board released a year earlier. Instead of answers however, the JIT investigation left as many questions unanswered as before. Worse, the conclusions it did present were so fundamentally flawed that any residual confidence in the integrity of the investigation has been eliminated. In any criminal investigation there are certain basic principles that need to be observed. Without being in any way exhaustive, the following points can be made that demonstrate that none of those basic principles have been observed. First, the investigators must be independent and seen to be independent. The members of the JIT team were drawn from five nations (initially only four): The Netherlands whose citizens accounted for the greatest number of casualties and was where the flight originated; Australia, who had the second largest number of casualties; Ukraine, where the plane crashed; Belgium, for undisclosed reasons; and Malaysia who joined the investigation later and only . . . slavoct9-16sUS Ponders Whether to Go to War with Russia to Salvage Al Qaeda in Syria / By Eric Zuesse / Strategic Culture Foundation / October 9, 2016 / The US State Department is now officially threatening Russia with war — not only on the proxy-battlefields of Syria, but «perhaps even Russian cities». / Sources that will be provided here, document the historical narrative now occurring toward all-out war between the US and Russia, up till the present, as that history will be introduced in the following two paragraphs (the first paragraph for background, and the second for a summary of the documentation that will then constitute the main body of the present report): FOR BACKGROUND: The US government (Barack Obama) was being led by the Saudi royal family, who own Saudi Arabia, in selecting members for the so-called ‘peace negotiations’ with Russia on the Syrian conflict, and those ‘negotiations’ broke up because the US refused to stop backing Al Qaeda in Syria. As I reported and documented on 6 May 2016: «These talks broke down on April 18th because Al Nusra was facing imminent defeat in the key city of Aleppo, and because such a defeat was unacceptable to Mohammed Alloush, the Saudi agent, and head of the Saudi-Wahhabist group, the Army of Islam. He was selected by King Saud to lead the rebel side at Syria’s peace negotiations». FOR SUMMARY OF THE FOLLOWING REPORT: Al Qaeda in Syria (which used to call itself «Al Nusrah») has been leading the US proxy army of jihadists trying to replace Bashar al-Assad’s government in Syria, but now that Russia and the US have broken off negotiations after the US bombed the Syrian army in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor on September 18th, Russia and the United States are gearing up for war against each other in Syria. Both Russia and Syria have now quit trying to work any longer with the United States to defeat Al Qaeda in Syria — they’ve had enough of America’s protecting Al Qaeda in Syria; they are laying down the gauntlet to the US regime, and are saying that the US regime can henceforth choose either to leave Syria (which it has invaded by its illegal entry into Syria), or else to go to war against . . . Hillary Clinton: “If I’m President, We Will Attack Iran… We would be Able to Totally Obliterate Them.” By Stephen Lendmann March 2015 (–Global Research)

If Trump Were Sexually Interested In Men, It Would Be Politically Incorrect To Say Anything About It / By Stephen Lendmann (Introduction by Paul Craig Roberts) / Paul Craig Roberts Website / October 9, 2016 / The presstitute media are doing everything that propagandists can do to anoint Hillary to the Oval Office. The main issue facing the electorate is whether the next administration will lead us into military conflict with Russia and by implication with China, not Trump’s sexual interest in women. The conflict would be thermo-nuclear. Trump is in the oligarchs’ crosshairs, because Trump disavows conflict with Russia. A subsidiary issue is that Trump, unlike Hillary, is not owned by the oligarchs. If Trump were able to form a government that reflects this difference, there would be hope for peace and for Washington to turn its attention from service to the One Percent to service to the 99 Percent. Guest Columns by Stephen Lendman: One-Party Rule in America. Democracy in America was farcical from the republic’s inception. Money-controlled duopoly rule runs things today. Things are headed toward eliminating one of its two right wings in the presidential race if pro-Hillary supporters, backed by media scoundrels, get their way. They’re calling for Trump to step aside, abandon his campaign, effectively letting Hillary be anointed Obama’s successor, making November voting a greater charade than already. Sunday media scoundrel headlines, claiming Trump losing support from GOP leaders, read like a campaign obituary. Hillary is the establishment favorite. He’s the outlier, whatever he says or does – dark forces running America sabotaging his run for the White House. Is November’s outcome predetermined? Shall we ahead of the curve proclaim president-elect Hillary? Should the remaining two presidential debates (sic) be cancelled? Why bother if Hillary already triumphed. Was the entire campaign from its onset meaningless theater? Hillary was chosen DNC nominee before it began, Sanders going along for an extended 15-minutes . . . MORE>> Click here.

The Role of NGO’s in Regime Change and Military Interventionism – VIDEO / By Vanessa Beeley / Introduction and Conclusion by Kennedy Applebaum / Quemado Institute / October 8, 2016 / NGO’s and Terrorists Play Good Cop-Bad Cop Role in Western Imperialist Agenda. We live in a world governed by propaganda. / Vanessa Beeley explains, in this 1 hour 12 minute VIDEO, the role of so-called humanitarian NGO’s as spearheads of violent US-EU-NATO intervention in sovereign countries such as Libya, Syria, and Yemen, and the devastation that results from the misuse by the deep state of our natural human compassion. Preliminary Remarks by Vanessa Beeley: We live in a world governed by propaganda where the majority of media mouthpieces are gagged by those who own them and only permitted to release information that serves the narrative of the ruling elite or Imperialist powers. We know that our governments lie. We know that our media channels lie. We search for integrity and truth among the rubble of propaganda. We want to pin our hopes on a power for “good”. So what does the machine create? It creates a power for good in its own image. It creates the Non Government Organisations, the Not for Profit Industrial Compex [NPIC] to give us the illusion, not only of this power for good, but of our own empowerment, our own stakeholding in reducing the misery being inflicted upon Humanity. The problem reveals itself when we consider who does actually fund & create these flagships of philanthropy. The problem lies with the foundations and government think tanks who have their hands firmly on the helm and direct the ship where they want it to go. Do we really believe that these funders, donors and backers will sail the ship . . . MORE>> Click here. (VIDEO available at source.)

slavoct8-16uSister Republic Lugansk Attacked, Fascist Ukraine Junta Military Opening Fire On Our People’s Army Positions / Novorossia Today / October 8, 2016 / Another broken ceasefire violation as the Nazi Ukrainian Junta forces backed by the Obama regime and terrorist organization NATO who supply the deadly weapons to target civilians have opened fire once again, unleashing a barrage of heavy weapons fire and ignoring the withdrawal agreement ! Nazi Ukrainian forces over the past 24 hours five times opened fire on positions of the people’s army in our Sister Republic Lugansk , the People’s Republic (LPR), the republic’s defense ministry told LuganskInformCenter on Saturday. Three times under fire was Kalinovo as the fascist forces used 120mm mortars and small arms. Besides, from 82mm mortars they opened fire on Logvinovo. “No losses have been reported,” the militia said. Withdrawal agreements: On September 21, the Trilateral Contact Group on the settlement of the conflict in the Donbass region (former Ukraine) reached a framework agreement on disengagement of forces in Donbass. It took three months to agree this document. Stage one is to create security zones at three sections of the line of contact, namely near Zolotoye, Petrovskoye and Stanitsa Luganskaya. The agreement envisages withdrawal of armed forces from the line of contact to create security zones at least two kilometers wide and two kilometers deep. The entire disengagement process, including preparatory measures, is to take not more than 30 days for each of the sections. The document is also applicable to other sections that might be agreed by the parties in further consultations. The Package of Measures to fulfil the September 2014 Minsk agreements, known as Minsk-2, that was signed in Minsk on February 12, 2015, envisaged a ceasefire regime between the Ukrainian Junta government forces and people’s army in the republics in Donetsk and Lugansk (DPR and LPR) starting from February 15, 2015 and a subsequent withdrawal of heavy weapons from the line of engagement. The deal also laid out a roadmap for a lasting settlement in Ukraine, including local elections and constitutional reform to give more autonomy to the war-torn eastern regions.

Press Statement of OSCE Chair Special Representative Sajdik after meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk on 5 October 2016 / OSCE (ReliefWeb) / October 6, 2016 / MINSK, 6 October 2016 – The Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine and in the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG), Martin Sajdik, made the following press statement after the meeting of the TCG ‎and its four Working Groups in Minsk on Wednesday, 5 October 2016: “Among the economic topics, issues of water and electricity supply, the restoration of railway tracks and electrical grids, payment of pensions and social benefits were discussed today. The payment for water and electricity supply, including the redemption of the accumulated debt, needs to be addressed urgently. We are grateful to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for its decision to cover running electricity bills for two months, which allows the resumption of water supply. Electricity supply is important for the pumping stations that provide drinking water to the population. It is only a stop-gap measure, not a sustainable solution. It provides for more time. However, only a political solution can resolve this issue. In the political field, as during previous meetings, the modalities of local elections, a roadmap on political issues, and amnesty issues were among the topics discussed. In the field of security, the discussion centred around the implementation of the Framework Decision on the Disengagement of Forces and Hardware of 21 September 2016, in particular in the first three priority areas – Zolote, Stanytsia Luhanska and Petrivske. Specific dates for starting actual disengagement were negotiated both in the Working Group on Security Issues and in the TCG. We have reached a mutual understanding that each party shall declare its respective disengagement schedule. Full adherence to the ceasefire would certainly contribute greatly to the prompt implementation of the Framework Decision. Among the humanitarian issues the exchange of detainees . . . ‘Voter Enthusiasm at Donetsk Elections Was Impressive’ – Italian Journalist / Sputnik / October 6, 2016 / Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics held local elections on October 2. Independent journalist Eliseo Bertolasi was on the scene in Donetsk as one of many international observers, who came from Italy, Finland and South Ossetia. Bertolasi told Sputnik about the mood in which the elections were held and how important they were to the people. / “On October 2, mayoral and administrative elections were held in Donetsk and Lugansk. They became a political and media message that the self-proclaimed republics sent to the international community,” he told Sputnik Italy in an interview. The journalist noted that the elections were held in accordance with international standards: “All the opportunities have been given to us, international observers: I visited seven different polling stations, could freely take pictures and shoot video, talk with the staff and with the voters. I have not noted any violations.” Eliseo Bertolasi also shared his feelings on the overall mood during the elections: “I was impressed by the enthusiasm of the voters. In Italy, politicians are most afraid of low turnout; and here it was a whole celebration, not just a measure.” According to the observer, in schools, where the polls were organized, students even performed songs and dances. “Everyone was also treated with typical soldier’s food from the field kitchen — buckwheat with meat and tea,” he added. “Many of these schools have been destroyed in bombings, but have since been restored by the city residents,” said Bertolasi. For Donetsk these elections, despite being local, were of great importance, the journalist believes. “They showed the world that the new republic, though still not having fully recovered, was able to organize and conduct the elections in accordance with international safety and transparency standards,” Bertolasi concluded. Kiev launched a special military operation in Ukraine’s southeast in April 2014, after local residents refused to recognize the new Ukrainian authorities, which came to power as a result of a coup. In February 2015, Kiev forces and eastern Ukraine’s militia signed a peace agreement in the Belarusian capital of Minsk. The deal stipulates a full ceasefire, weapons withdrawal from the line of contact in eastern Ukraine, as well as constitutional reforms that would give a special status to the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics. Despite the agreement, the ceasefire regime is regularly violated, with both sides accusing each other of multiple breaches, undermining the terms of the accord.

slavoct6-16jItalian authors of the new Donbass documentary face accusations, boycott and ignorance / DONi News / October 6, 2016 / On September 30, at the Youtube channel of Katehon the series were published of documentaries about the situation in Donbass, “Welcome to Donbass”, produced by Roberto Di Matteo and Alessandra Benignetti. Documentary is bearing several investigations into crimes committed by the Ukrainian Army in Donetsk and Lugansk regions and the situation of the people at the front. The documentary opens eyes to many uncomfortable issues to the Government of Kiev, much as the Italian media – as accused one of the authors – have decided to boycott them and ignore them, accusing journalists of being “pro-Russian and / or anti-European”. Author of documentary told about accusations, ignorance and boycott on his Facebook page. “First episode of the documentary in the Donbass, in which we denounce crimes to the detriment of the inhabitants … In Italy nobody wanted publishing it and we were accused by many of being pro-Russian and / or anti-European …but we have done it to document the dramatic situation in which the civilians live (kidnappings, illegal detentions, torture, use of illegal weapons like phosphorous bombs, violations of treaties, etc..). I regret that some respectable (even pro-American radical-chic) have felt offended … the images speak for themselves. P.S.: and I remember that in 2014 I was also on the other side of the fence.”

slavoct6-16mExposing Lies about the former Ukraine, Novorossiya, and Russia / By Nicholas Nicholaides / Katehon.com / September 12, 2016 / There are several lies circulating on the internet regarding the former Ukraine, Novorossiya, and Russia. These lies are spread by the Kiev Nazi junta’s trolls and their American masters with the obvious goal of disinformation. But only fools believe this disinformation and only liars and traitors try to promote it further. So, let us expose some of these lies and start with the first one, which is the most obvious: “The Ukrainian people has chosen their way to EU”. Well, “the Ukrainian people” has NOT chosen their “way to EU”. The “Ukrainian people” had chosen the Russian World, the Customs Union with Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan when they chose Yanukovich as president and a pro-Russian Rada (albeit with a small majority) in the last legitimate elections before the Nazi coup. Then there was this nazi coup, directed from the US, against the legal president and government. All “elections” after the Nazi coup are void and illegal and were neither democratic nor fair, as all the opposition has banned, imprisoned or killed. Let no-one forget this. We do not want Ukrops or traitors trying to distort facts! (And who are the “Ukrainian people” anyway? The Nazis from Galicia? The Russians in Novorossiya and Malorossiya? The Russian-speaking Ukrainians in the central parts if they are allowed to speak as they want? Or all the people of “mixed origin” i.e. have one Russian and one Ukrainian parent? How does the world see them? Are they even being asked how they see themselves?) Next lie: “Russia does not need Novorossiya” – Those who make this statement have no idea (or pretend not to have) about Russian history or . . . MORE>> Click here.

slavoct6-16hPutin, Albert II praise development of Russia-Monaco ties / NewsFront / October 6, 2016 / Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prince Albert II, of Monaco, have expressed satisfaction over the development of bilateral relations. “I am very glad that we started your visit with a landmark event – the opening of an exhibition devoted to relations between Monaco and Russia. We were able to see for ourselves that Monaco-Russia relations have been developing constructively for a very long time,” Putin said at a meeting with Prince Albert II in the Kremlin on Thursday. He added he was very pleased to see the mutual relations were developing steadily and in a positive fashion. Prince Albert II agreed with Putin. “We are happy about the opportunity to have a meeting with you and to visit Moscow on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the restoration of diplomatic relations,” he said. Prince Albert II said the exhibition he and the Russian president had just visited reflected the depth of history of bilateral relations. “This exhibition is a remarkable evidence of the past, but at the same time it directs us into the future. These days, ten years after the diplomatic relations between our countries were restored, it is a great pleasure for me to note an excellent level of cooperation between Russia and Monaco in a variety of fields. I am certain that Moscow shares this vision and is going to advance this cooperation,” Prince Albert II said.

Jacob Rothschild: US Has Allies Among Russian Elites / Translated from Russian by Kristina Kharlova / Fort Russ / October 6, 2016 / 80-year-old member of the Rothschild dynasty, Jacob Rothschild is confident that the United States can find support in some of the Russian elites, he said on American political TV show. “The current crisis may last much less time than the cold war. At the moment the US has allies among the Russian elites, who are ready to take over the initiative. In this scenario, ordinary people will not notice anything. The course of Russia’s foreign policy will change – this will be presented as some kind of achievement of Russian diplomacy,” – said Rothschild. Meanwhile Rothschild is sure that the so-called conflict of the Russian elites is in the final stage. “A part of Russian elite insists that the Russian leadership pushes for the lifting of sanctions. Part are against concessions to the West. Next year we’ll know who won,” – said Rothschild. It is worth noting that since September 30, 2016, a video of the famous Donbass defender Igor Girkin (Strelkov) lashing out at Putin has been circulating online. Strelkov makes it clear that his followers are ready to protest, and did not shy from personal insults towards Putin. Earlier those Russian experts who favor Putin dubbed Strelkov “the fifth column”. Who is Strelkov’s sponsor remains a mystery. Translator’s note: Every country has its patriots and traitors, and it’s no doubt that Rothschild is not exaggerating. He seems very well informed for a government outsider. Strelkov is the least of Putin’s worries. The tentacles of the sprout reach far and wide and there is no doubt America has its ‘allies’ deeply planted in every strategic sector of the Russian society. But so they did in the 90’s but it did not prevent an emergence of a new strong and defiant leader seemingly out of nowhere. Undoubtedly America succeeded in enslaving much of the world, but Russia is no stranger to such attempts. Whenever Russia was plunged into dark times it has found its way out. Apparently for America a victory means complete defeat and surrender of the opponent, which is consistent with it’s adherence to the law of the jungle in international politics. It has worked so far as long as 95% of global population are content with the status quo. However everyone understands that sharing a pie is better than giving it all to one, and global leaders and their constituents are watching Putin’s moves with envy and anticipation. In that regard we can safely conclude that Putin himself has many more silent allies among global elites than he is even aware of.

Militia forces return to positions as Kiev disrupts disengagement in Petrovskoye / TASS / Oct 3, 2016 / A framework agreement on disengagement of the sides was signed by militia leaders and representatives of OSCE, Russia and Ukraine on September 21-23. / DONETSK / Kiev has disrupted disengagement of the sides in Petrovskoye, so the forces of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) are returning to their starting positions, the DPR’s operational command spokesman Eduard Basurin said Monday. “The Ukrainian side has disrupted disengagement of forces in Petrovskoye; the DPR Armed Forces’ units are returning to the positions they held earlier,” Basurin said. A framework agreement on disengagement of the sides was signed by DPR leader Alexander Zakharchenko and leader of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) Igor Plotnitsky, representatives of Ukraine, Russia and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) on September 21-23. The document defines the procedure of disengagement of units of the opposing sides at three sections: Petrovskoye (DPR), Stanitsa Luganskaya and Zolotoye (LPR). The agreement notes that the armed forces are withdrawn by the sides to create security sections at least 2 kilometers wide and 2 kilometers deep. The entire process of disengagement of forces and hardware, including preparatory events, should take no more than 30 days for each section. The document also says that its effect “covers additionally agreed sections of disengagement, which may be defined during further consultations.”

Militia say Kiev refuses to withdraw forces from contact line near Stanitsa Luganskaya / TASS / October 3, 2016 / A framework agreement on disengagement of the sides was signed by militia leaders and representatives of OSCE, Russia and Ukraine on September 21-23. / LUGANSK / A spokesman for the people’s militia of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) has accused Kiev of refusing to withdraw its forces from the line of engagement near the settlement of Stanitsa Luganskaya. “The Ukrainian side refused to withdraw its forces and weapons from the contact line near Stanitsa Luganskaya providing no reasons for the refusal,” LuganskInformCenter quoted him as saying. “Thus, the Ukrainian side has broken down disengagement of forces scheduled for October 3,” the spokesman stressed. On September 21, the Trilateral Contact Group on the settlement of the conflict in eastern Ukraine reached a framework agreement on disengagement of forces in Donbass. The Package of Measures to fulfil the September 2014 Minsk agreements, known as Minsk-2, that was signed in Minsk on February 12, 2015, envisaged a ceasefire regime between Ukrainian government forces and people’s militias in the self-proclaimed republics in Donetsk and Lugansk (DPR and LPR) starting from February 15, 2015 and a subsequent withdrawal of heavy weapons from the line of engagement. The deal also laid out a roadmap for a lasting settlement in Ukraine, including local elections and constitutional reform to give more autonomy to the war-torn eastern regions.

slavoct3-16uPrimary elections in the Lugansk People’s Republic – an observer’s account / DONi News / October 3, 2016 / On the 2nd of October the people of the Lugansk People’s Republic headed to the polls to cast their vote in the primary elections. According to the Minsk agreement, Ukraine should enact laws which would enable the Donbass republics, Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) and Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), to hold local elections in their territories. Such laws have not yet been passed and Ukraine has officially signaled that it does not plan to respect the agreement. Due to the circumstances, a suggestion was made by two social movements in the LPR, Peace to Lugansk and the Lugansk Economic Union, that limited non-binding primary elections would be held instead of binding elections. The primary elections have the full support of the official LPR government, but are completely funded and organized by the social movements. According to the Oleg Akimov, the Chairman of the Trade Union Federation of LPR and deputy of the national Council of LPR, the primary elections are principally held to evaluate and test the electoral system, to get a feel for the will of the people and to demonstrate that the LPR is able to hold elections according to the OSCE’s standards. The districts of Lugansk, Aleksandrovsk and Ybileynuy were selected as the locations for the primaries. The voting was . . . MORE>> Click here.

Dutch ambassador in Moscow summoned to Russian Foreign Ministry over MH17 / TASS / October 3, 2016 / Earlier, on September 28, the Joint Investigation Team came up with preliminary findings of the criminal investigation into the Malaysian airliner’s crash in Donbass. / MOSCOW / Dutch ambassador to Russia Regina Jones-Bos has arrived at the Russian Foreign Ministry, where she was invited over the crash of Malaysia’s Flight MH17 over Donbass in July 2014. Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the Dutch ambassador would be handed arguments to the effect it is utterly unacceptable to have a situation in which crucial objective information presented by Russia is ignored, which eventually disrupts Russian experts’ cooperation with the investigation and discredits the efforts being exerted for the sake of establishing the true picture of the tragedy and bringing those responsible to justice in compliance with UN Security Council’s Resolution 2166. The Russian ambassador to the Netherlands was summoned to the Dutch Foreign Ministry on September 30. As the Dutch Foreign Ministry said, Russia’s statements regarding the criminal investigation of the MH17 disaster over Ukraine in July 2014 where the reason. Earlier, on September 28, the Joint Investigation Team came up with preliminary findings of the criminal investigation into the Malaysian airliner’s crash in Donbass. JIT investigators claimed that the plane was downed by a missile launched with the air defense system Buk from the area of the village of Pervomaiskoye, south of Snezhnoye, held by anti-Kiev militias on the day of the tragedy. (A passenger Boeing-777 jet of the Malaysian Airlines (Flight MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala-Lumpur) was lost over the east of the Donetsk Region on July 17, 2014. All 283 passengers and 15 crew – citizens of ten countries – died in the disaster.)

‘Slave labour’ in prisons of east Ukraine, By Patrick Evans

BBC publish yet another shoddily sourced, unsubstantiated article about Donbass – Graham Phillips / By Graham Phillips / Facebook / October 3, 2016 / I’d like to comment on this BBC article about ‘slave camps’ in the DPR / LPR. I know the journalist who wrote it personally, from my time in Kiev, Patrick Evans. We always had quite a friendly relationship, so I don’t want to attack Patrick personally. But, this article is not journalism. A journalist would have investigated these claims, not just reported word-for-word what was told to him by people who had only their words to support their claims. Where’s Patrick’s investigation to verify any of this? Why did he stay in Kiev, and not come here himself? To base a big story on such flimsy evidence – partisan statements from those with a clear bias – and pass it off as ‘journalism’ … well that’s the kind of propaganda we’ve come to expect from the BBC. It’s a shame, and disappointing to see someone you had a good opinion of before go along with that, be a part of pumping out yet more BBC propaganda. [Quemado Institute editor’s note: Graham Phillips later tweets that he has contacted Patrick Evans requesting a map showing locations of these ‘slave camps.’ Evans has agreed to send them, and Graham will be visiting and reporting on them.]

Primaries in DPR and LPR: today was a historical day for Donbass (VIDEO) / By Christelle Néant / DONi News / October 2, 2016 / Today, at 8 AM, the polling stations opened in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR), and remained opened until 8 PM, to allow a maximum of persons to vote today for their local representatives. This election is not the first one in the two young republics, there was the referendum of 11 May 2014, and the presidential elections in November 2014. But these two votes were of course considered as invalid by the international community (amongst them the UN and the European Union), and contrary to the Minsk agreements. So this time, the authorities made everything perfect, in order for these elections to offer no argument against their validity. A temporary electoral commission was created, which defined clearly and in a fully transparent way the processes and procedures of the future elections, based on the OSCE standards. The security was reinforced to ensure no terrorist act from Ukraine could sabotage the elections. The candidates application was opened to everyone, as far as the person has a clean criminal case and enough signatures to support his candidacy. And the whole process was monitored by observers from both the DPR, LPR and abroad (Italy, South Ossetia, France, Germany, Finland, Great Britain, etc). In total, more than 1060 people monitored this election, including 22 international observers. These foreign observers were able to take photos and videos, and none of them detected any violations during these elections: “We haven’t registered any violations here, neither me, nor my foreign colleagues,” emphasized Johan Bäckman from Finland. “I consider that today we . . . slavoct2-16zNo incidents reported during preliminary voting in Donbass self-proclaimed republics / TASS / October 2, 2016 / DONETSK/LUGANSK / Preliminary elections, or the so-called primaries, in the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR) were held on Sunday in a calm atmosphere. By the closure of polling stations at 20:00 local time, about 425,000 took part in the polls. A total of 369,617 voters took part in the primaries in the DPR, the Donetsk News Agency said citing the republican interim election commission. The voter turnout in the LPR was 54,426, LuganskInformCenter said citing the local election commission. No incidents were reported during the voting in either of the republics. Roman Tutov, the chief of the LPR’s public security police, said that the republic’s law enforcers “are well capable to ensure public order during elections of any level” without any international missions. Results of the voting are expected to be announced on Monday. The elections were monitored by observers from a number of countries, including Finland, Greece, Germany, Italy, South Ossetia, and the Czech Republic. Thus, the DPR interim election commission registered 1,043 observers, including 22 from foreign countries. Accreditation was granted to 147 journalists from 23 mass media outlets from Donbass, Russia, countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the European Union. Journalists from Ukrainian mass media did not apply for accreditation. Primaries in the LPR were monitored by journalists and observers from the United States, Great Britain, France, Germany, Finland, Poland, Israel and India. The first stage of preliminary voting in the DPR was held in Donetsk where people elected best candidates for mayor, lawmakers of the city and local councils and heads of Donetsk’s districts and constituent settlements, including located along the line of engagement. In the LPR, residents of Lugansk, Alexandrovka and Yubileiny voted for candidates to local self-government. Ever since the Minsk agreements were reached, Kiev has been failing to agree the law on elections in Donbass with the self-proclaimed republics. Initially, these elections were scheduled to be held by the end of 2015. But Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian parliament) has been unable to pass a relevant law. The self-proclaimed republics were forced to postpone the elections more than once. Finally, the republics decided to organize preliminary voting, which, according to the republics’ leaders, does not run counter to the Minsk agreements and complies with the standards of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). The goal of the elections is to see who enjoys authority among the local population ahead of the local elections. Italian delegation in DPR visits Saint-Iversky monastery (photo report) / Essence of Time / October 2, 2016 / International monitors arrived to Donetsk People’s Republic due to the primary elections in the country. Among the delegates, Donetsk was visited by a well-known Italian analyst, writer and public figure Giulietto Chiesa, member of the regional council of Piedmont (Italy) Mauricio Marrone and our old friends, journalist and historian Eliseo Bertolasi. On September 1 we met the guests and organized a trip to Oktyabrsky village destroyed by Ukrainian artillery and the area of Donetsk airport. We showed the Saint-Iversky Monastery — the place which had already become sacred to us, the place where Essence of Time unit suffered its first losses. Being in the minority, Giulietto Chiesa and Eliseo Bertolasi fight their fight on the Italian informational front, demonstrating the essence of what is going on in Ukraine, covering the war in Donbass from its very beginning, discussing the global events and the future of Europe. In the evening an informal meeting too place, during which the members of Essence of Time mission in Donbass got the chance to talk to Italian comrades and discuss a number of important issues. Flores: Ukraine undeniably Responsible for MH17 Crash (VIDEO) / Fort Russ / October 2, 2016 / RT interviews FR’s own J. Flores on September 28th, on the MH17 investigation ‘findings’, put out the same day by the Joint Investigative Team (JIT). While much criticism of the investigation has focused on the technical aspects of the report, or lack thereof, Flores offers a rejoinder which cuts to the very origin of the JIT itself. Flores reminds us that NATO and Malaysia created the JIT after efforts to create a real and truly ‘Joint’, unbiased team, failed at the level of the UN Security Council. The originally proposed investigation was to include Ukraine as a possible suspect, for a few very obvious reasons discussed below. Once Ukraine was included as an investigative party, even though it remains a suspect, and once the Netherlands – a NATO country – was to lead the investigation, instead of a neutral country not party to the conflict by way of the relevant alliances in play, the resulting investigative team constituted a conflict of interest. Furthermore, once it became clear that the point of the investigation was to be to determine how exactly it was that Russia was responsible, instead of determining who was responsible, the bias was built . . . Dutch FM takes Russian ambassador to task for criticizing MH17 investigation / By Janene Pieters / NlTimes.nl / September 30, 2016 / On Friday morning Minister Bert Koenders of Foreign Affairs summed the Russian ambassador in The Hague to discuss Russia’s statements about the integrity of the MH17 investigation. Koenders told the ambassador that baseless criticism is unacceptable, NOS reports. Following the presentation of the preliminary results of the investigation into the downing of flight MH17, spokespersons for the Kremlin, the Russian Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense raised doubts about the professionalism, integrity and independence of the Dutch Public Prosecutor. “No Russian missile systems, including BUK missile systems, crossed from Russia the border with Ukraine”, General-Major Igor Konasjenkov of the Russian Defense Ministry said following the MH17 press conference on Wednesday, according to the broadcaster. “The data presented today come from two sources. The Internet and the Secret Service of Ukraine. Therefore the objectivity of this information, and therefore the resulting conclusions are questionable.” A spokesperson for President Vladimir Putin called for a “transparent and complete” investigation, pointing out that Russia provided detailed information about the crash in eastern Ukraine. “This case is surrounded by a huge amount of speculation and unprofessional information.” the spokesperson said. The Russian Ministry of Defense called the results of the investigation largely invented, NOS reports. According to the official response, the investigators gave Ukraine a free hand to distort the findings so that the country goes unpunished. Russia still claims that Ukrainian troops shot down the Malaysia Airlines flight on July 17th, 2014, killing all 298 people on board. “Instead of dragging the investigation through the mud and sowing doubt, Russia should 0 given the convincing evidence – respect the results presented”, Koenders said on Friday. He called on Russia to continue to cooperate fully in the investigation and subsequent prosecution and trial, as is clearly stated in the unanimously adopted Resolution 2166 of the UN Security Council. slavsep30-16zKremlin favors decision to invite Russian ambassador to Dutch Foreign Ministry over MH17 / TASS / September 30, 2016 / The ambassador will present all considerations concerning Russia’s position on the flight MH17 disaster investigation. / MOSCOW / The Kremlin believes it is good news the Russian ambassador was invited to the Dutch Foreign Ministry for explanations over criticism of the flight MH17 disaster investigation. “This is very good news,” presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists, adding that he learned about that from media reports. “The head of our diplomatic mission in the Netherlands will present all considerations concerning our position,” Peskov said. “A dialog is always good.” First, the Dutch Safety Board looked into the circumstances of the disaster over Ukraine. And this week the Joint Investigation Team presented the first results of the criminal investigation. The JIT consists of Australian, Belgian, Malaysian, Dutch and Ukrainian officials. They claimed they had gathered irrefutable evidence Flight MH17 had been downed by a Buk missile launched on July 17, 2014 from an area controlled by militias opposed to Kiev. The missile, they said, had come from Russia. It is noteworthy, though, that the JIT chief acknowledged all data provided by Russia had been ignored. Quemado Institute comments: Dmitry Peskov is speaking obsequious drivel to call this good news. What about the bad news? The Dutch team has falsely accused Russia and/or Donbass based on byzantine fabrications derived from social media, Ukrainian “intelligence” and Bellingcat debunked propaganda. These lies could be dangerous at time when the Western elite is manufacturing excuses to vilify Russia in a possible leadup to war. slavsep30-16xFinland’s Part in MH17 Crash Probe Not to Strain Helsinki-Moscow Ties – FM / Sputnik / September 30, 2016 / Finnish Foreign Minister said that Finland’s participation in the probe into the Malaysian Airlines MH17 crash in 2014 in southeastern Ukraine will not put a strain on the relations between Helsinki and Moscow. Finland’s participation in the probe into the Malaysian Airlines MH17 crash in 2014 in southeastern Ukraine will not put a strain on the relations between Helsinki and Moscow, Finnish Foreign Minister Timo Soini said on Friday. “Finland and Russia are constantly engaging in bilateral talks and relations between both countries are good. I don’t believe that anything exceptional will emerge between Finland and Russia that hasn’t so far cropped up,” Soini said as quoted by Yle broadcaster. On Wednesday, Finnish authorities confirmed, that secret missile tests were conducted in Finland two years ago as part of the ongoing investigation into the MH17 crash. According to the country’s officials, a Buk missile had been detonated by the local experts to compare the fragments with the debris which were found at the site of MH17 catastrophe. The tests results reportedly claimed, that the rocket in question was a Russian Buk. The foreign minister said that the investigation was independent and would not damage Helsinki-Moscow ties. He noted, that the Russian side had not contacted Finland regarding the participation of Finnish experts in the probe. The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) tasked with probing the crash announced on Wednesday that the MH17 airliner was allegedly downed by a Buk missile system which was brought from Russia and consequently returned there. Furthermore the investigation believes that the missile was launched by the territory controlled by the Donbas militias. The Russian Defense Ministry cast doubt on the conclusions of the investigators, saying that no Russian missile systems, including Buk, have ever crossed the Russian-Ukrainian border. Quemado Institute comments: It is suspicious the Finnish Buk tests were conducted in secret and were omitted from the Dutch Safety Board Phase I report of October 2015. The omission means the findings can’t be confirmed. It’s doubtful their conclusions would stand up to scrutiny.

Russia opens criminal case against Ukraine’s Right Sector leaders / TASS / September 30, 2016 / The case involves Dmitry Yarosh, Andrey Tarasenko, Andrey Stempitsky, Valery Voronov and Artyom Skoropadsky, as well as other members of the organization. / MOSCOW / Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case on extremist charges against the leaders of Ukraine’s Right Sector – Dmitry Yarosh, Andrey Tarasenko, Andrey Stempitsky, Valery Voronov and Artyom Skoropadsky, as well as other members of the organization. “The department for investigating crimes involving the use of outlawed means and methods of war of the Investigative Committee’s Main Investigations Directorate in cooperation with the Federal Security Service FSB and the Interior Ministry has obtained evidence against the leaders and activists of the Ukrainian extremist organization Right Sector, which is outlawed in Russia under a resolution passed by the Supreme Court of Russia,” the IC’s press-service said. “On the basis of the collected evidence criminal proceedings were instituted against the Right Sector leaders – Dmitry Yarosh, Andrey Tarasenko, other senior members of that organization Andrey Stempitsky, Valery Voronov and Artyom Skoropadsky and other persons under Part 1 of Article 282.2 of the Russian Criminal Code (Criminal Organization Activities). What is Right Sector? According to the IC, the Right Sector group, which Yarosh established in 2013, professes an ideology of radical Ukrainian nationalism, outspoken Russophobia and Nazism. The organization proclaimed that its task was to offer armed resistance to what it described as “Moscow’s aggression” – in fact an excuse for the use of violence for political, radial, ethnic and religious grounds. The Right Sector incorporates the leaders and activists of a number of Ukrainian ultra-radical organizations and movements, such as Trizub (Trident) named after Stepan Bandera, UNA-UNSO, Ukrainian rebel army UPA, Brotherhood, Social-National Assembly, White Hammer, Group S14, Carpathian Sich, and association of radically-minded football fans. “Starting from 2014 and up to this day the leaders and activists of the Right Sector have systematically planned and commit crimes against Russia and its citizens and diplomatic officers in Ukrainian territory, as well as against Russian-speaking civilians,” the IC said. Taking part in the organization’s activity is Russian citizen Artyom Skoropadsky – the chief of the Right Sector’s press-service, who has regularly appeared in the mass media and in the world web as well as various public events and gatherings for propaganda of the organization’s criminal ideology and calls for participation in extremist crimes. The IC estimates the Right Sector’s strength at 5,000 militants – citizens of Ukraine, Russia and other states. In each Ukrainian region the organization has command centers that coordinate the activists locally. “Alongside this the organization’s leaders have established cells in Europe and North America,” the IC said, adding that Yarosh and his associates were pushing ahead with their criminal activities with the tacit connivance and approval of the Ukrainian leadership.

Washington has Just Declared War on Russia / By Martin Berger / New Eastern Outlook / September 29, 2016 / Nobel Peace Prize laureate, US President Barack Obama has been steadfastly pursuing a policy of armed interventions and conflicts across the globe longer and more extensively than any other president in recent US history. Now he’s sounding an advance against Russia, paying no heed to the fact that it may result in world war followed promptly by mutual nuclear annihilation. One could hardly make a compelling argument how else one can explain the statement made by Spokesperson for the US State Department, Rear Admiral John F. Kirby, other than a direct declaration of war. The statement reads as follows: “The consequences are that the civil war will continue in Syria, that extremists and extremists groups will continue to exploit the vacuums that are there in Syria to expand their operations, which will include, no question, attacks against Russian interests, perhaps even Russian cities, and Russia will continue to send troops home in body bags, and they will continue to lose resources – even, perhaps, more aircraft …” The very same modus operandi was employed a quarter of a century ago to take down the Soviet Union. In the late 1980’s America decided it was in a position to catch the “evil empire” in an Afghan trap through the support it would provide armed terrroists that have now transformed themselves into “moderate terrorists,” including Al-Qaeda. In the 1980’s, Washington took advantage of Saudi wealth and Pakistan’s secret service. That’s how the so-called Afghan resistance was born, enjoying Pakistani logistical support and streams of “fresh recruits” from all across the Middle East. The former US Secretary of State and now a presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, openly declared back in 2012 that it was a great idea from her point of view: “When the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan, we had this brilliant idea that we are going to come to Pakistan and create a force of Mujahideen, equip them with stinger missiles and everything else to go after the Soviets inside the Afghanistan. And we were successful, the Soviets left Afghanistan, and then we said “Great! Goodbye “, leaving these trained people who where fanatical in Afghanistan and Pakistan, leaving them well armed, creating a mess …” What Hillary forgot to mention, however, is the fact that the Mujaheddin movement . . . Hector Reban Debunks Enemy Reports on MH17 / Quemado Institute / September 30, 2016 / The Dutch Safety Board Phase II criminal investigation, according to preliminary announcements, relied on Social Media and Ukrainian “intelligence” to determine the route of the alleged BUK missile that they claim shot down the Boeing 777. This means the Dutch took seriously the many Twitter reports from enemy sources showing fake photos and videos about the location of such a missile. The DSB no doubt also used these same unreliable sources to “determine” who committed the crime. That they relied almost entirely on enemy propaganda poses a danger to US-Russian relations. slavsep29-16sLugansk Coup: Arrest wave locks up conspirators, corrupt officials / By Jim W. Dean / Veterans Today / September 29, 2016 / Western media gave no coverage for the coup that was broken up against the Lugansk Republic in Donbass. It had been preceded by an assassination attempt on its leader, Igor Plotnitsky. This was a car bomb attempt, which to his good luck was bungled, most likely as a result of assigning it to the lowest bidder. Political assassinations are usually not attempted without having someone, or a team, ready to step in and take over. These could be outsiders, but using insiders is safer, as they are seen as a natural progression of leadership. But that is not the case if they have sold out for power or money. The buyers of such treason could be oligarchs fronting for Kiev, or as mentioned below, gangsters who were not happy with their anti-corruption leader — a universal problem for all honest politicians, and more so in struggling economies. You can bet that Plotnitsky was looking over his shoulder when he got out of the hospital, and, with some possible help from the Russians to watch his back and working with his own teams, flushed out the coupmeisters, in what looks like an excellent display of good police and counterintelligence work. slavsep29-16pDPR Head: Ukraine authorities to blame for MH17 crash, will be brought to justice / Donetsk News Agency (now in English) / September 29, 2016 / Donetsk, Sep 29 – DAN. It is the Ukraine authorities that are responsible for Malaysia Airlines MH17 Flight crash that killed 298 people in June 2014, DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko stated. “Ukraine is fully culpable for the downing of the Boeing, for failing to prevent the flight. Culprits will be punished,” he said. Zakharchenko repeatedly dismissed claims of any DPR involvement in the atrocity. The independent joint investigation team (JIT) led by Dutch authorities includes experts from Australia, Malaysia, Ukraine and Belgium, on September, 28 released their interim findings on the investigation. The report claims that MH17 was downed by a missile launched by Buk air defense system brought in from Russia. According to the JIT, the missile was launched from a farmland near Pervomayskoye, to the south of Snezhnoye, which was under control of Donbass militias. So far investigators have not had enough time to analyze Russia-provided data that disproves the findings. Russia’s Defence Ministry said the objectivity of the findings of an international was doubtful. “Investigation findings presented on the briefing are based on two main sources: internet and Ukrainian intelligence. Consequently, the objectivity of such data and the findings based thereon cannot but cause doubt”, Major-General Igor Konashenkov, a spokesman for the ministry, said. Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17, en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, crashed on 17 July 2014, killing all 283 passengers and 15 crew on board.

slavsep29-16wTroubling gaps in the new report of the MH-17 crash / By Robert Parry / NewColdWar.org (from Consortium News) / September 28, 2016 / The new accusation of Russian complicity in 2014 Malaysia Airlines shootdown was based on Ukrainian intelligence intercepts that were selectively interpreted while contrary information was ignored, writes Robert Parry. / The key conclusion of the Dutch-led criminal inquiry implicating Russia in the 2014 shootdown of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 relied heavily on cryptic telephone intercepts that were supplied by the Ukrainian intelligence service and were given incriminating meaning not clearly supported by the words. The investigators also seemed to ignore other intercepts that conflicted with their conclusions, including one conversation that appeared to be referring to a Ukrainian convoy, not one commanded by ethnic Russian rebels, that was closing in on the Luhansk airport, placing Ukrainian troops deep inside rebel territory. That conversation was among five that the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) released in seeking the public’s help in identifying persons of interest in the MH-17 shootdown. The callers seemed to discussing information from Moscow regarding the movement of a convoy, but they describe it as a “Ukrops” or Ukrainian troop convoy. “B: I am saying about the confirmation of the convoy that is going in the direction of the airport… Moscow/Moskva has confirmed… they see it. Press conference, Nieuwegein, Holland, Sept 28, 2016, with MH17 Joint Investigation Team (–AP)

Dutch, Australian and Ukrainian police announce the end of the tunnel in MH17 investigation; Russian generals announce tunnel vision / By John Helmer / NewColdWar.org (from Dances with Bears) / September 28, 2016 / MOSCOW, September 28, 2016–At a press conference of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) in the small Dutch city of Nieuwegein today, police, prosecutors and intelligence agents from The Netherlands, Australia, Belgium, Malaysia and Ukraine have revealed that they have found evidence from a freshly identified Ukrainian “mobile radar”, from secret Ukrainian air traffic controller tapes, and from secret U.S. satellite imagery on the destruction of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 over eastern Ukraine on July 17, 2014. The conclusion reported by JIT is that a BUK missile caused the destruction of the aircraft; that it was brought into Ukraine from Russia and removed to Russia after launch; that it was fired from a patch of farmland near Snizhne, east of the approaching MH17; and that “one hundred persons can be linked” to the movement and operation of the BUK system. The JIT also announced that no identifications of these people have been made, and that at present there are no “official suspects”. “We need a clear impression of the chain of command”, declared Fred Westerbeke, the principal Dutch member of the investigation and JIT spokesman. “We appeal for cooperative witnesses,” he said, adding “I can’t tell you how long this investigation will take.” According to the JIT presentation from Westerbeke and a Dutch police officer, Wilbert Paulissen, further investigation is expected to last until at least January 2018. Westerbeke claimed his group, currently numbering “nearly one hundred”, is continuing to prepare “legal and convincing evidence meeting a very high standard”. Lawyers and analysts observing the presentation have expressed doubt that the secret Ukrainian and American government evidence can be admissible in court. On questioning by a sceptical Dutch journalist, Westerbeke acknowledged that all the telephone intercepts and wiretaps reported as evidence of Russian involvement in the reported missile operation originated from the Ukrainian secret service. Evidence of the missile movement, ground launch, and smoke trail from social media, photographs and videotapes, and purported witnesses presented at today’s JIT session have all appeared publicly before; much of it already discredited as fakes. Russia Publishes Radar Data Implicating Ukraine in MH-17 Shoot-Down / By Alexander Mercouris / Global Research / September 26, 2016 / During what was apparently a joint presentation by the Russian missile manufacturer Almaz Antey and the Russian military in Moscow, raw radar data was apparently released which allegedly disproves Ukrainian claims that MH17 was shot down by a BUK missile launched from militia controlled territory, and specifically from the town of Snizhnoe from where the Ukrainians claim the BUK missile was launched.  The data thereby supposedly confirms that only the Ukrainians could have shot down MH-17. Apparently the data does not identify the missile launch point or make it possible to identify the type of missile that shot MH17 down. However Almaz Antey has previously identified the missile as an early generation BUK missile of the sort it says is no longer used by the Russian military, and it claims to have identified the launch point by scientific tests as the village of Zaroshchenskoe. Satellite data previously published by the Russian military shows a BUK missile launcher belonging to the Ukrainian military near Zaroshchenskoe shortly before MH17 was shot down. The authenticity of this data has been repeatedly challenged, but it has up to now consistently stood up to independent examination. Ukraine Aid Bill Passes House of Representatives: Does It Meet US Interests? / By Alex Gorka / Strategic Culture Foundation / September 29, 2016 / On September 21, the US House of Representatives approved overwhelmingly «Stability and Democracy for Ukraine Act» (H.R. 5094), which was earlier endorsed by the House Committee on Foreign Affairs. The legislation, which goes to the US Senate for consideration, provides for sanctions and includes lethal weapons systems as part of national defense budget. It also strengthens the sanctions imposed on Moscow and reinforces the US refusal to recognize Crimea as part of the Russian Federation. The bill directs the Secretary of State to develop and implement a strategy of waging an information war against Russia. According to the document, it meets the United States national security interests to increase the availability of insurance to support increased private investment in Ukraine. The move puts added pressure on the White House, which is also considering delivering weapons. The pressure also comes from US top officials. For instance, Defense Secretary Ashton Carter and NATO’s top military commander General Philip Breedlove have openly supported the idea. To demonstrate US support for Ukraine, US Defence Secretary Ash Carter has recently appointed John Abizaid, a retired United States Army general and former U.S. Central Command commander, as a special adviser to Ukraine’s defence minister. slavsep28-16yEssence of Time unit in Donbass. The Becoming. Pamir / Essence of Time / September 28, 2016 / The fiercest combat operations took place from early to mid-August 2014, when it seemed that the Nazis are just about to encircle Donetsk and cut us off from the border. Combat and air-raid alarms sounded very often; artillery barrage almost never got quiet and was heard everywhere. From time to time, together with air-raid alarms, jets of Ukrainian punitive forces rushed past over our heads, heading east to bomb Saur-Mogila, Shakhtersk, Torez, Snezhnoe. A very important stage was the beginning of the outreach campaign together with the commander of the training company, Chika. Outreach brigade was formed and the guys regularly went to meetings with workers of plants and mines. They always came back very inspired, talked about how the communication with people went. That was a real-life work with population. The stories about the problems that came up during that work and how they were resolved were very exciting. Once I was asked to step in for one of the comrades. I agreed with pleasure and some anxiety. We spoke to a work staff of a large plant of Makeevka. Everything was organized in a large Palace of Culture, which was unexpected for me. People began to gather at the appointed time, many of them were dressed as for a formal event. The guys, Chica, and I made speeches. Some people, expressing resentment that the war had ruined their lives, left the auditorium. But many people actively supported the militia. They even made suggestions on how to be better build a new life, expressed their desire to help. slavsep28-16xDonetsk Republic on JIT MH17 Report: ‘The Conclusions Are Wrong’ / Sputnik / September 28, 2016 / The Donetsk People’s Republic dismissed the Dutch-led Joint Investigation Team’s conclusions which stated that the MH17 was downed from independence supporters-controlled area. / DONETSK / The Dutch-led Joint Investigation Team is wrong in its conclusions about the alleged launch of a missile that downed Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 from militias-controlled territory in eastern Ukraine, the deputy defense minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic’s (DPR), Eduard Basurin, said on Wednesday. “I believe that it [investigation] is brought to a deadlock on purpose. For the second time the team makes its conclusions, for the second time the conclusions are wrong,” Basurin told journalists adding that neither the United State nor Ukraine provided radar or satellite data used as a basis for accusations against Donbass independence supporters.

slavsep28-16vDutch Joint Investigation Team Presents First Results of MH17 Crash Probe / Sputnik / September 28, 2016 / The Joint Investigation Team has presented the initial results of the criminal investigation into the MH17 crash in eastern Ukraine. During the press conference the exact location where the plane had been downed and by which weapon have been announced. / The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) consists of Dutch, Australian, Belgian, Ukrainian and Malaysian prosecutors. During two years, some 200 parts of the plane’s wreckage have been examined by the investigation team, the JIT said. Moreover, over 200 witnesses have been questioned. The JIT said that the plane had been downed by a ground-based air defense system as no other planes had been noticed nearby in the airspace over the crash site. The JIT said that a BUK missile downed the plane. Allegedly, the BUK missile was delivered from the “territory of the Russian Federation to Ukraine,” the investigation by the team claimed. “Based on the results of the criminal investigation, it may be concluded that flight MH217 was shot was shot down on July 17, 2014, by a 9M38-series missile launched by a Buk trailer and [it] was brought it from the territory of the Russian Federation and after launch subsequently returned to the Russian Federation territory,” Director of the National Criminal Investigation Division of National Police of the Netherlands Wilbert Paulissen said Wednesday.

The JIT added that the BUK missile system had been later allegedly brought back to the Russia. The team was unable to trace the missile system in Russia’s territory, it said that it had been seen “on the Russian border.” The JIT said that the territory from which the missile had been allegedly fired (Pervomaiskiy town) had been controlled by east Ukrainian militia. The Dutch prosecution does not formally link MH17 plane’s downing to the Russian state or Russian citizens’ actions, the head of the investigation team said. “We have determined that the weapon arrived from Russia. Having established this, we are not making statements about the role of Russia as a state or people from Russia,” JIT chief and Dutch prosecutor Fred Westerbeke said. The information was received from the US and European specialists, the JIT said. The US provided all information it has related to the MH17 crash.

The Dutch-led investigation team believes that the missile was not launched from territory controlled by Ukrainian troops. However, the team cannot yet name specific people to blame for the downing of the plane. The BUK missile defense system and escorting vehicles were later seen in Donetsk, the JIT said, presenting a video showing the convoy. The JIT presented satellite images before and after the downing of the plane from July 16 and July 21. The JIT has data on the conversations between Ukrainian air traffic controllers and the Malaysia Airlines MH17 flight. Conclusions made by the Russian investigation team are incorrect, however, the JIT has not received them yet, the Dutch-led team said. Earlier, the Russian manufacturer of the BUK missile system and the Russian Defense Ministry presented radar data from the area near the site of the MH17 crash. The JIT promised to examine radar images provided by Russia.

The team said that some 100 persons of interest that had been allegedly involved “in one way of another” in the MH17 plane’s downing have been identified during the inquiry. The Dutch-led probe is unable to say whether those responsible for the downing acted independently or on someone’s order. Those 100 involved have not been formally identified yet, the JIT said. The JIT said that it had been unclear yet whether the downing of the plane had been accidental or intentional but “some of those involved were surprised at what had happened.” The Joint Investigation Team’s investigation into the MH17 crash has been extended until early 2018. The Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 was en route to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam when it was downed over eastern Ukraine on July 17, 2014. All 298, including 80 children and 15 crew members, were killed. [VIDEO available at source.]

Quemado Institute comments: The above allegations constitute an egregious fabrication designed by the West to vilify the Russians or Russian-speaking people of Donbass. The original Dutch Investigation Report failed to prove MH17 was shot down by a BUK missile, as a paragraph-by-paragraph analysis of their 2015 document shows (see below). There is abundant evidence MH17 was shot down by fighter aircraft that were seen near the Boeing by many witnesses.

The Ukranians, moreover, had a strategic military motive for causing a major airline crash at the border between the Donetsk and Lugansk Republics. They could not have failed to know the subsequent investigation and recovery in the area would disrupt the coordinated efforts of the Donetsk and Lugansk militias. The ploy nearly worked. The crash site happens to lie in a bottleneck of territory below the Debaltsevo pocket, where the Ukrainian Army had been attempting to break through to the Russian border to separate the Republics. In the chaos that ensued after the crash, the DPR/LPR militias almost lost control of the last highway connecting the cities of Donetsk and Lugansk. slavsep28-16pSupport MH17 Truth: Machine Gun-Like Holes Indicate Shelling from a Military Aircraft. No Evidence of a Surface-to-Air Missile Attack. / By Prof. Michel Chossudovsky / Global Research / September 28, 2016 / More lies prevail with regard to MH17. Recent press reports quoting the Dutch Safety Board’s October 2015 final report point to “a surface-to-air missile [which] exploded near the left side of the passenger plane bringing down the aircraft.” Although the Dutch report concluded that the Russian-made BUK surface-to-air missile with a 9N314M warhead brought down the Boeing 777, it did not mention which side was responsible for firing the missile… (International Business Times, March 8, 2016). The evidence presented in this Global Research article (below) first published on July 31, 2014 contradicts the report of the Dutch Safety Board and provides evidence: The evidence amply confirms that Malaysian Airlines MH17 was not brought down by a surface to air missile. It was brought down by military aircraft. The West continues to accuse Russia and the Donbass separatists of having brought down the plane with a surface to air missile. IT’S A LIE. The Dutch investigation has been twisted. UPDATE, August 7, 2016: Washington’s agenda in liaison with the Kiev regimes is to blame Russia. In recent developments (August 3, 2016), Ukraine president Poroshenko has visited Malaysia for discussions with Prime Minister Razak Najib: “Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said Malaysia will work with Ukraine to bring the perpetrators to justice. “We will do whatever we can to find the truth for the sake of families who lost their loved ones in this tragic incident. “We are waiting for the criminal investigation report, which is expected to be tabled by the year-end, followed by a meeting to decide on the next course of action,” said Najib.(New Straights Times, August 4, 2016). The evidence available in September 2014—including a BBC report which the BBC decided to suppress—refutes the official story. As we recall, the alleged role of Russia in bringing down the plane was used as a justification to implement the economic sanctions regime against Moscow. Although not explicitly mentioned by the Dutch investigators, Moscow remains the “main suspect” in this twisted and fraudulent investigation, which will no doubt be the object of a new gush . . . slavsep28-16nThe Essentially Joint Ukraine-NATO MH17 Investigation Team Just Added Yet Another Significant Squeeze around the Neck of Putin’s Colonial Regime and with Evident Help from the Latter / By Vladimir Suchan / Logos Politicos / September 28, 2016 / The JIT, the Joint Investigation Team, conveniently close to the International Crime Tribunal in the Hague and in its essence, setup and purpose a West and NATO-controlled “investigation,” which includes Ukraine as its member with veto powers and a non-disclosure agreement, restated with an ever more compelling squeeze of a systematically winding anaconda that the weapon which brought down MH 17 and killed some 300 lives was a BUK, which not just Russia-made, but a missile that was brought into Donbass by Russia—the Russian Armed Forces—where it served onlyone function—to destroy the civilian airliner. After taking down MH17, the Russian missile—emphasis on “Russia-owned-and-operated,” the BUK system was allegedly brought back to Russia. Explicitly, the JIT says that the rebels did it, but otherwise all else is now pinned on Russia and specifically on the Russian Armed Forces, which means on the Russian government and thus also on the Russian Commander in Chief—Vladimir Putin, otherwise the “partner” in chief himself. In this regard, Moscow has officially limited itself from the very beginning only to the briefing of its Ministry of Defense made right after the incident and to a new report released just prior this latest JIT report, in which Moscow declared—contrary to the original information it provided and contrary to hundred of the witnesses on the ground–that no military aircraft was detected by Russia in the air in the vicinity of MH17. In between these two one-time actions, which included a set of rather rhetorical questions, which no one bothered to respond to officially and which Moscow itself did not follow upon in any noticeable way, the main thing which the Kremlin did was to hand over the black boxes into the hands of its de facto and even declared enemies right away after . . . slavsep28-16rThe DPR denied claims on involvement to Malaysian Boeing crash in Donbass in July 2014 / DONi News / September 28, 2016 / he Vice-Commander of the DPR People’s Militia Eduard Basurin called allegations against the DPR to be senseless. We`ve had no weaponry of such air defense system at our disposal – neither systems nor experts. That is why we couldn’t shoot down the Boeing. It`s madness as there was no sense to shoot the civil plane down. What reason we had for this? After the Boeing was shoot down there was a statement from the Ukrainian part that it was shot down from the DPR-controlled territory with a link on that they had satellite imagery. After two years no one has ever seen the imagery. After we addressed Ukraine in order them to provide the materials from their radars, what kind of aircraft was at that time in the air but nothing was provided. But alongside this they started stating that it was shot down from the DPR-controlled territory. From my point of view they intentionally perplex the investigation. Joint Team makes the conclusions for the second time and the conclusions are wrong. Basurin also suggested that the Boeing was shot down by the missile of “Buk” complex that was at Ukrainian Army`s disposal. “At the Ukrainian Army`s disposal since the Soviet Union period such complexes were left. That could be one of them.” All 298 passengers and crew on the Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur flight were killed by air missile over the eastern part of Ukraine on 17 July 2014.

“War in Donbass will be imposed on us by Washington and Kiev” / By Alexander Dugin / Katehon.com / Posted September 28, 2016 (Original date unknown) / Alexander Gelyevich, here’s a question for you as the acknowledged ideologist of the Russian Spring: How do you assess the current situation in Novorossiya? What was conceived in the beginning and what has actually come about? Alexander Dugin: I’ve long refrained from any commentating on what’s happening in Donbass, and there were serious reasons for this. Now, a few cycles of reflection on these dramatic events, which are known as the “Russian Spring”, have passed, and we now have the possibility to have a more balanced, calm, and analytical attitude towards the subject, which for me personally was a colossal, heartfelt, spiritual wound. The topic of the “Russian Spring” is my direct and living pain. I can not speak about it calmly. It’s not just about the loss of loved ones – it is the deepest strike at the very center of those expectations which I had in regards to Novorossiya and the revival of Russia, its spirit, and its identity. The matter at hand is the reawakening of Russia. For a long time I couldn’t speak on topics of this kind, refrained from commenting and shied away from assessments due to the deep trauma that I experienced as one of the first enthusiasts of the rebirth of Great Russia, starting with Crimea through to Novorossiya and so on. Now it’s not trauma that is ongoing but . . . MORE>> Click here.

Hysteria at UN Betrays Western Terror Sponsors / By Finian Cunningham / Strategic Culture Foundation / September 28, 2016 / Hysteria and histrionics at the United Nations Security Council from the three permanent members, the United States, Britain and France, was tantamount to a signed confession. Ironically, one can imagine how the wording of such a «confession» would go: We the intensely vexed members are hereby displaying our boorish displeasure that the terror proxies we covertly sponsor in Syria for regime change are being thrashed. Such was the tawdry display of undiplomatic conduct by the US, Britain and France, with officials from these countries inveighing against Russia with unsubstantiated, sensationalist accusations of committing war crimes. The intemperance was then followed by tantrums and walk-outs from the Security Council meeting – a meeting that these three members had originally convened. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov later lambasted the imperious attitude from the Western trio as an «unacceptable» breach of diplomatic protocol. During the weekend, the US, Britain and France claimed that Russia was a «partner» with its Syria ally in perpetrating war crimes over the breakdown of the ceasefire that had been declared on September 12. As usual, it was the American UN ambassador Samantha Power who excelled in the hysteria and histrionics. «What Russia is doing is not counter-terrorism. It is barbarism», declared Power with shrill, puffed up vitriol. The US official even hinted . . . MORE>> Click here..

Gifted children of DPR go to legendary Artek Children Center in Crimea to study and rest / Essence of Time / September 26, 2016 /30 gifted children of Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) on Saturday went to the International Children Center “Artek” to study and have a rest, the leading expert of the Suplementary Education Department of the DPR Ministry of Education and Science Alina Bortnik informed Donetsk News Agency reporter on September 24th. “We saw happy faces of 30 gifted children, winners of various contests and competitions from towns and regions of DPR. They were taken there in comfortable buses. The children are going to study in Artek school, rest ‘at the bluest of the seas’. Also, an extensive cultural program is scheduled”, she added. The children will stay in Artek until October 16th. It is expected that this is not the last group of children going to the famous children center this year. The gifted children from all of the Republic will be sent there in October, November and December as well. Artek is the former Soviet All-Union Young Pioneer camp founded on June 16, 1925. It is situated near the Black Sea in the town of Gurzuf located on the Crimean peninsula. The Young Pioneer camps of the Soviet Union were the places of vacation for children from the Young Pioneer organization of the Soviet Union during summer and winter holidays. There were different types of camps: health camps, sports camps, tourist camps, thematic camps (for young technicians, young naturalists, young geologists etc.). Artek was the main Young Pioneer camp of the Soviet Union. Children having high achievements in education and sports from all of the Soviet Union and other countries could stay in this camp. During Ukrainian Government times, the prestige of Artek declined, and its financing was cut. The executive board of the camp had to charge the substantial sum of money from the parents for the children’s accommodation. It meant that mostly children of rich people could rest in Artek. After Crimea returned to Russia, this tendency seems to be changed. In fall 2014 5 billion rubles (over 90 million euros at the time, currently equivalent to 70 million euros) were allocated from Russian budget to repair Artek. A total of 20 thousand children visited Artek in 2015. Children once again can visit Artek for free for achievements in education, science, culture, sports, volunteering.

Vitaly Churkin

Vitaly Churkin

Churkin promises no more unilateral concessions to the US in Syria / Translated by J. Arnoldski (from RIA Novosti) / Fort Russ / September 26, 2016 / Russia will no longer agree to any unilateral steps in Syria, Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, Vitaly Churkin, stated. Speaking at the UN Security Council session on Syria, the Russian representative noted that, during discussions on the Syria ceasefire agreement, the demand was made that Damascus unilaterally cease all air force flights as a precondition for a ceasefire. “First they said three days. We agreed. Then they said: ‘No, the US president has changed his mind, now it has to be 7 days,” Churkin said. “Such tactics cannot last forever. We will not longer agree to any unilateral steps,” he emphasized. Churkin added that bringing Syria to peace has become an almost impossible task insofar as hundreds of armed groups roam the country and “all and sundry” on Syrian territory is being bombed. He also stated that members of the coalition headed by the US still have not provided any information on the investigations on the airstrikes on the Syrian city of Manbij in July which killed dozens of civilians. Following the meeting of the UN Security Council, Churkin told journalists that the US-Russian agreement has not been ripped up, but moving forward with the process will be difficult if Washington continues to change its positions. “We clearly outlined this position. We need a serious process without any trickery and without people changing their conditions every two days. There was an agreement, and the only thing needed is that it be fulfilled instead of positions being changed. If they continue to do so, then it will be extremely difficult to have a serious process,” Russia’s representative stated. Russia has repeatedly stated that it carefully selects targets for airstrikes in Syria. Any accusations that Russia has hit civilian targets in Syria have never been accompanied with any evidence. At an emergency meeting on Sunday, the UN Security Council discussed the situation in Aleppo. The session was convened on the initiative of the US, UK, and France in connection with the Syrian Arab Army offensive which is knocking militants from the terrorist Jebat Al-Nusra organization and the so-called “armed opposition” out of the city.

(Brief Update)

slavsep25-16tDonetsk Defense: Situation Report, 25.09.16 / DONi News / September 25, 2016 / The situation in the Donetsk People’s Republic becomes aggravated. Over the past day the Ukrainian military violated the ceasefire regime 130 times. After the document on disengagement of the parties was signed in Minsk, the commander of the 58th separate motor-infantry brigade Dropaty decided to justify the deep trust credited him and was the first to use artillery against civilians of the Republic. This blood-thirsty criminal launched 35 shells of 122mm calibre onto the area of the Donetsk airport. It looks especially cynical after the chief of the Ukrainian General Staff Muzhenko reported on September 24 to the Deputy Head of SMM OSCE to Ukraine Alexander Hug about the full compliance of the Ukrainian party with the silence regime. Besides, onto the territory of the Republic there were launched 38 shells of 120mm and 82mm calibre. The enemy also opened fire from the IFVs, grenade launchers and small arms. There were shelled such localities as Zaitsevo, Ozeryanovka, Yasinovataya, Mineralnoye, Aleksandrovka, the area of the airport and the Petrovsky district of Donetsk city. We demand from representatives of the OSCE Mission and JCCC from the Ukrainian party to take in hand the gone too far commanders of the AFU brigades and to preserve that fragile peace established in Donbass. We propose the Ukrainian party to re-read attentively the last statement of the German Foreign Affairs Minister Frank Walter Steinmeier, in particular, the plan on settlement of the conflict in Donbass which was approved by all the participants of the Normandy format. Our intelligence continues detecting the facts of the forbidden arms’ presence along the contact line. – Near Chermalyk (2,5 km away from the contact line) there were revealed two 122mm motorized artillery mounts ‘Gvozdika’; – Near Novosyolovka Vtoraya (6 km away from the contact line) there was detected a battery of 122mm towed howitzers D-30. All the data on violations of the Minsk Agreements by the Ukrainian party and the position of the AFU’s forbidden arms were passed to the OSCE and JCCC representatives. In their turn the LPR People’s Militia units completely support the Minsk Agreements and observe the ceasefire regime. —The Vice-Commander of the DPR People’s Militia Eduard Basurin, the official translation by the DONi News Agency

Kiev’s attempted coup-d’etat in Lugansk People’s Republic fails / Tapnewswire.com / September 25, 2016 / LATEST UPDATE: Motorola and his Sparta battalion have been transferred to the LPR to provide anti-coup security. / In the Lugansk People’s Republic, a coup d’etat attempt has been thwarted. This was stated in a video address on September 20th by LPR head Igor Plotnitsky. Plotnitsky also revealed the plans of the conspirators to be provoking mass protests and arranging the entry of the Ukrainian army onto the republic’s territory. “There was another attempt, so to speak, at a coup, but the point was not the fact of a coup in the LPR itself as much as creating a precedent with which to outrage the Ukrainian people, and then have the Ukrainian army sent in. We worked ahead of the curve, and we know everything perfectly well,” he said. “We know those internal enemies and those who have patrons, perhaps even in the Russian Federation,” Plotnitsky emphasized. He concluded: “They did not succeed. We worked, and we will work. The republic has already long since held its own.” Back on August 6th, an assassination attempt was made on the LPR leader when a land mine was placed under his car. Igor Plotnitsky was wounded, but within two days he was discharged from the hospital and returned to work. According to the report of Lugansk law enforcement forces, the attempt was committed by a Ukrainian saboteur group. “Yes, there is a Fifth Column” … Svobodnaya Pressa: “What about the ‘fifth column’ or hidden sympathizers of the Ukrainian government?” Pershikov: “Of course they exist in both government organs and security structures. We are dealing with a classic civil war, and it is hard to understand what factors influence such people whose relatives live on both sides of the contact line. “These are mainly bureaucrats, and bureaucrats are a class that can work for any government. We saw this in Crimea as well, where the most active ‘Eurointegrators’ and supporters of Yulia Tymoshenko and ‘Our Ukraine’ then quite effectively fulfilled the tasks set by Russia’s top leadership. God forbid that Ukraine will come again and they’ll repent once again just to get their next ministerial portfolios. “Donbass is no exception. Even today . . . MORE>> Click here.

slavsep25-16wLPR Militia Says Intercepted Ukrainian Combat Drone With Explosives / Sputnik / September 25, 2016 / According to an LPR represenative, the militia intercepted a Ukrainian drone loaded with explosives. / LUHANSK / A Ukrainian drone loaded with explosives was intercepted by pro-independence militia, a militia representative from the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) said Sunday. “After the people’s militia neutralized it, and after its flight path and combat load were studied, it was determined that the aircraft was heading toward the city of Luhansk to carry out a terrorist act,” Andrei Marochko said at a briefing. The unmanned aircraft, which carried two improvised explosives, was taken down near the city of Debaltseve, he added, noting that the drone was taking the same path as Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) monitoring mission drones and was set to target civilians in Luhansk. “The power of the explosives is equivalent to three kilograms TNT…We have recorded cases of Ukrainian combat drones flying along routes used by OSCE unmanned aircraft, thus posing a danger to the mission’s drones,” Marochko said. Kiev launched a military operation in Ukraine’s southeast in April 2014, after local residents refused to recognize the new Ukrainian authorities, which came to power as a result of a coup. In February 2015, a peace agreement was signed between Ukraine’s conflicting sides in the Belarusian capital of Minsk. Though the deal stipulated a full ceasefire in Donbass, the both sides have violated the truce multiple times.

slavsep25-16rDonbass Elections: A Chance to Show the World the Truth / By Sergey Buntovsky (PolitNavigator) / Translated by J. Arnoldski / Fort Russ / September 24, 2016 / For many years on the Donetsk book market was an Orthodox bookstore whose owner used to often repeat: “Get ready to die, and eat this bread!” Now the time has come when these words have become a guide for action for the whole region. For more than two years already, the people of Donbass don’t know if they’ll survive until the next morning, but still, every day, they diligently fulfill their duties either on the front or in the rear. The employees of the organizing committee for republic-wide preliminary public voting (primaries) in the Donetsk People’s Republic are no exception to this.
