slavmay26xMalaysia Begins Their Own Investigation Into the “Boeing” Tragedy / Fort Russ / May 25, 2016 / The meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister of Malaysia Najib Razak on the sidelines of the ASEAN – Russia in Sochi has caused panic among the Ukrainian authorities. As is known, the two leaders agreed to coordinate an investigation into the downed “Boeing” over Ukraine in the framework of a joint working group. After a meeting with Vladimir Putin, Najib Razak noted the progress in the case of the “Boeing”, which crashed in 2014 over Donbass. “I saw that we made positive steps on the path to justice for families and victims of MH17 when the Russian President and I agreed that after our next steps will be determined, we will outline the research results of the joint investigation team in October,” said a statement published on the website of the Prime Minister. He also urged all parties not to succumb to speculation and not to come to premature conclusions. However, the Minister of Transport of Malaysia sent a letter to the Dutch Commission on the investigation of the tragedy with the Boeing, requesting to include Russian experts in its composition. At the request of Petro Poroshenko, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin contacted by phone the US Secretary of State John Kerry and complained to the latter that Russia has dragged Malaysia to its side. Klimkin appealed to Kerry to urge them to take steps in order to disrupt the emerging Russia and Malaysia joint investigation into the causes of the disaster. Poroshenko and his clique understand that the lack of real evidence of Russia’s involvement in the downed “Boeing” makes Malaysia the first country to seek the truth about whether and under what circumstances the airplane crashed. Malaysia in this case has more right than any other country due to the passengers whom died in the crash. In fact, with this step Malaysia expressed distrust towards the results of the investigation, which was conducted by the Dutch Investigative Commission. The sharp turn of Malaysia to Russia is in itself sufficiently eloquent. Kuala Lumpur praised the willingness of Russia from the first days of the tragedy to make all information available to Malaysian investigators. Malaysia insisted Russian experts were included in the investigation group of the tragedy. However, this was not done. The Dutch Commission did not include a single Russian expert and ignored all the competent Russian organizations that conducted their independent investigation into the tragedy. We are talking in particular about the famous report of the Corporation “Almaz-Antey”, which experimentally reproduced the last minutes before the collapse of the “Boeing”. However, this report was ignored by the investigators of the Netherlands. Accumulated dissatisfaction with the progress of the investigation sparked the Prime Minister of Malaysia’s initiative to establish a joint group to investigate the reasons for the investigation of “Boeing”. As soon as the guests left the Sochi summit, the Minister of Transport of Malaysia Liow Tiong Lai sent a letter to the Commission of Inquiry of the Netherlands with the requirement to include representatives of Russia in all expert groups. This circumstance caused panic in Kiev, where they realized they cannot refuse Malaysia’s claim, threatening an international scandal, but also Kiev fears to allow Russian experts. Such a sharp and inadequate response by Poroshenko and his Minister Klimkin only shows that in Ukraine, the fear of disclosure of all the details of the tragedy that will eventually point to the involvement of Kiev. Washington doesn’t know how to respond to the initiative of Malaysia, because regardless of the possible participation of Russian experts in the work of the Dutch investigative Commission, Russia and Malaysia have already agreed to announce the results of its own investigation in October 2016.

slavapr22xDonetsk Blog, April 22: Threefold Increase in Attacks – New Secret Weaponry – Civilians in Cellars / Russia Insider / April 22, 2016 / At a meeting in Minsk of the Contact Group on the matter of the settlement of the conflict in Donbass, the DPR delegation stated that the extent of bombardment of the Republic had tripled in the first months of 2016. The shelling by the Ukrainian side continues along the entire contact line, starting daily in the late afternoon and stopping no earlier than midnight. In each segment of the contact line Kiev uses certain types of weapons. Over the past three days, the Ukrainian military has intensely fired upon the northern suburbs of Donetsk with machine guns, grenade launchers and mortars. According to witnesses, mortar shells landed on the territory of the Donetsk airport unceasingly. The local authorities inform that in one of the localities a private home was directly hit by a large-caliber projectile. The house burned down because the fire brigade was unable to reach the area owing to the constant bombardment. The residents of this locality spent the entire night in cellars. According to the DPR military, last night, in addition to mortars and grenade launchers, the Ukrainian army shelled the area of the airport with tanks and a number of rockets from a “Grad” MLRS. Locals reported that the blast waves made their windows crunch. The western outskirts of Donetsk . . . MORE>> Click here.

Azov Battalion (--Reuters)

Azov Battalion (–Reuters)

Nazi Coup in Kiev Already Preparing / Novorossia Vision / April 22, 2016 / After the pro-American Poroshenko’s regime had begun to put a spoke in the wheels of the American plans in Ukraine, in an effort, perhaps, to make it impossible to restart a next after-Maidan and US-controlled government, it actually did not leave any choice to Washington. A Nazi coup remains the only option, in which the White House can expect to retain their power in Ukraine, at least for a while. Such a coup is not just possible, it is already being prepared. The Civil Corps “Azov” as a prototype of the SS: If we look at the very recent history of Ukraine and watch how the so-called volunteer battalions were born and how their fate evolved, we will see at once that the battalion, and then the regiment “Azov”, stands out among them. Against the backdrop of semi-criminal groups, it has always stood out for its cruelty and discipline. For many years, its leader Andrey Biletsky has been promoting the idea of Ukrainian integral nationalism, and he is a real Fuhrer for his followers. Besides, he copied the structure of the organisation from Nazi militias, giving it some local colours. Structure and competition: Formally the regiment “Azov” is included into the structure of the National Guard of Ukraine, and is a police force. At any time it can be sent to any point of Ukraine to suppress riots or … to seize . . . MORE>> Click here.

slavapr21xDonbass War Situation Report – April 21, 2016 / Quemado Institute (Source: Donetsk News Agency) / April 21, 2016 / Attacks on the Donetsk People’s Republic by Ukrainian military units continue to occur daily despite so-called peace negotiations being conducted in Minsk, Belarus. Over the past day, Ukrainian troops fired 48 times at DPR territory near the front line, constituting 22 violations of the ceasefire agreement. As many as 55 shells were released from enemy positions using 82 and 120 mm mortars. The Ukrainian security forces used weapons from infantry fighting vehicles, including rocket-propelled grenades and small arms. The most intense attacks, employing weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements, occurred in the area surrounding Yasinovataya, which is located near the highway between Donetsk and Gorlovka, as well as in the western and northern outskirts of Donetsk and the village of Kominternovo in the southern Donetsk Basin. The DPR Defense Ministry said orders to fire came from the famous war criminals Sokolov, Krasilnikov, Shaptala and Miller. Also, according to the DPR Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ukrainian security forces shelled north Gorlovka on the night of April 19, where a direct hit started a fire that burned down three private houses. “In the Nikitovsky district of Gorlovka, an explosive object caused a fire that completely destroyed three homes along Lisiansky Street,” the agency said. There were no victims among the civilian population, as no one was present in the homes at the time. In addition, between the hours 20:00 to 23:30 local time, 24 mines of caliber 82mm were released on the village of Trudovskoy and the Yasinovatskiy checkpoint. The attack was conducted by Ukrainian law enforcers from occupied Marinka and Avdeyevka, using grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms. On the previous day, Ukrainian security forces fired almost 450 times on DPR territory, in some cases with the use of artillery. Six private houses in DPR village of Zaytsevo, near Gorlovka, were also damaged during the night by shelling from Ukrainian security forces, it was reported by Vice Commander of the DPR Defense Ministry Corps Eduard Basurin. The damaged homes were located at 52 Obrucheva Street and 7, 8, 9, 11 and 12 Lisiansky Street. Clashes occurred as well between Ukrainian Armed Forces units and Ukrainian nazi battalions near Yasinovataya on April 18 and 19, killing 9 Ukrainian soldiers and wounding some 22 to 37. Basurin noted that the shootout was started by a truck full of intoxicated nationalist gunmen, who got lost during the night and drove up to the line of contact and back.

Craters Left by Unexploded Rockets and Phosphorous Bombs: The Ceasefire in Donbass (VIDEO) / Translated by Ollie Richardson for Fort Russ / Fort Russ / April 21, 2016 / The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to violate the truce in the Donetsk region of Ukraine. The village of Zaytsevo is in the line of fire, where the most recent shelling has damaged the school building and the local administration, as well as residential homes. The details were reported by RT correspondent Murad Gazdiev. The RT crew visited the village of Zaytsevo in the Donetsk region of Ukraine, which in recent days has been in the line of fire. Firstly, the reporters didn’t notice anything unusual or dangerous: a football field next to the local school, a playground, horizontal bars and gates, a nearby field, where local residents are planting. But the trouble is that a football may accidentally fly there, where there is an unexploded rocket from an RPG-22. Judging by the markings, it was manufactured in 1989. It fell on one of the sites of the village a few days ago. Apparently, the grenade is faulty, so the engineers have to work hard to defuse this missile. It could explode right on the spot. Banned phosphorus bombs were used during the shelling of the village. They detonate in the air. As a result, the substance is dispersed and ignited upon contact with the air. The body of the bomb burned a hole in the ground with a depth of approximately six feet. The edges of the crater are covered with white bloom – traces of phosphorus. “In the past few days there has been a lot of shooting, the #15 school is completely broken. Kids don’t receive an education,” complained one of the residents. This village is on the front line. The Ukrainian military is located just 400 metres to the West. Zaytsevo has now become a kind of target: six houses were destroyed in the recent shelling. The crew inspected the houses damaged by shelling. By the nature of the destruction, you can get an idea of the types of munitions that were used. The journalists wanted to get closer to the houses that were shelled by the Ukrainian side recently, but it is still unsafe. In the east of Ukraine, blue vests with the inscription “Press” are more of a target than a means of protection. Daytime in the village is quiet. As the locals said, the fighting usually starts closer to night. Of course, both sides of the conflict do not allow themselves to violate the truce in the presence of OSCE observers. It should be noted that many of the houses have been left by their owners: doors locked, windows shuttered. Some houses are completely destroyed. In Zaytsevo, there are still dozens of local residents: they simply have nowhere else to go. [VIDEO available at source.]

slavapr21pDonbass: Inhabitants of UAF-Occupied Mariupol Against Renaming Avenue In Honor of Heroes of ATO / News Front / Translated by Quemado Institute / April 21, 2016 / In Mariupol, which is temporarily under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces [UAF}, more than 150 local residents staged a rally on Marshal Zhukov Avenue to protest the renaming of the avenue in honor of the Heroes the ATO [“Anti-Terrorist Operation”]. The decision to rename the avenue was reached by deputies of the City Council on the implementation of the law decommunisation. In February at the session of the Mariupol City Council, deputies decided to rename Marshal Zhukov Avenue to Heroes of the ATO. There were two options in the voting – Heroes of the ATO and Heavenly Hundreds. The deputies chose the first. “According to city council deputy Maxim Borodin, the Avenue will be renamed anyway. Whether the people want it or not, there is a law on de-communization. And it will be renamed Heroes of the ATO. It is the head of the State Administration Paul Zhebrivskyi who decides for the Donetsk region,” said the city council of Mariupol. Quemado Institute comments: Gleb Bazov, staunch supporter of Igor Strelkov and Novorossiya, and founder of Slavyangrad.org whose mother is a resident of Mariupol, commented via Twitter at 20:00 UTC today: “#MARIUPOL—–Much thanks to those responsible for handing the practically liberated Mariupol back to fascist #Ukraine. May you burn in hell. | Those responsible for surrendering the people of Mariupol to Ukrainian fascists sit in nice comfy offices & know well their role.” Quemado Institute shares Bazov’s sentiment, but we do not quite know who he is referring to—possibly Denis Pushilin or Vladislav Surkov? We hope he does not mean Alexander Zakharchenko, who certainly had no choice, given worldwide hostility toward the Republic, even from Moscow. Quemado Institute holds Vladimir Putin primarily responsible for the loss of Mariupol. The Russian leader could have taken a stronger political, if not military, stance, first by recognizing the two Donbass Republics and declaring Poroshenko’s government illegal; second, by demanding sovereignty for the DPR/LPR, including control of the Russian border; and third, by refusing to order the restraint of the Novorossiya Armed Forces, which Putin had no right to do. Such an unambiguous position would have garnered more respect for him than his current obsequious pro-Kiev posture, which can only exacerbate the Western neocons’ contempt. Update April 22: We are not dogmatic about blaming Putin for the DPR’s sacrifice of Mariupol a year and several months ago, when the NAF mysteriously withdrew after nearly surrounding the city. It was simply the impression we had at the time, due to Putin’s statements, Western accusations of Russia aggression, rumors of Kremlin meddling, and so forth. However one Twitter source stated yesterday—albeit without evidence—that Rinat Akhmetov of Donetsk, the richest man in “Ukraine” today with $3.1 billion, made a deal with the DPR that led to the NAF withdrawal. If true, the loss of Mariupol was indeed a betrayal by the leaders of the Donetsk People’s Republic.

Alexander Zakharchenko (--DAN)

Alexander Zakharchenko (–DAN)

Zakharchenko Direct Line: Ukraine Must Be Reorganized, Its Future A Confederation of Regions / DAN / Translated by Quemado Institute / April 20, 2016 / Donetsk People’s Republic President Alexander Zakharchenko held the first-ever online-conference today with Residents of one of Ukraine’s regions, the Kharkov Oblast. Participants sent in a total of 2831 questions. The main topics of concern to Kharkov were the economic and humanitarian problems of the Republic, its development plans, and the implementation of the Minsk agreements. Many expressed open outrage over the situation in their area. Some participants in the conversation were interested in Zakharchenko’s opinion on the current situation in Ukraine and its political leaders. At the same time, supporters of Novorossiya openly expressed their support for Zakharchenko, while advocates of the Kiev regime, in contrast, threw provocative and, at times, offensive remarks at the DPR leader. The head of the DPR … responded to 51 questions…. Asked about the implementation of the Minsk agreements and their benefits, Zakharchenko said that they will end the war. The priority is Kiev’s implementation of its obligations. The President of the Republic stressed that “Minsk-2” was a diplomatic victory for the DPR, comparable to the defeat of the occupying forces in the area of Debaltsevo in 2015. “The talks in the capital of Belarus have led to the truce, though shaky, and saved the lives of thousands of people.” Moreover, according to Zakharchenko, the Minsk peace process can be used for other regions of Ukraine as an example of a successful defense of their political rights with Kiev. The DPR leader called for a reorganization of Ukraine as a country with a regional identity. Its future: “It is rather a confederation. Thus it will be possible to take into account the uniqueness of all parts of Ukraine, their diversity and differentness, and so develop common rules. Only in this way can we avoid a violent unification, whether it is under the banner of Bandera or some other. Relatively speaking, the process should start from the bottom, not the top,” said Zakharchenko. Kharkov has shown keen interest in the current situation in the DPR and its differences from Ukraine. Zakharchenko said that in war and a total blockade, the main priority of the authorities is social policy. “We are applying all means … to keep rates at a pre-war level,” he noted in particular. According to him, the general principles of Donetsk are : de-oligarchization, the fight against corruption, de banderization, ie the ban on ultra-nationalist parties, free elections, and a policy of sovereignty—that is, the rejection of external control and reliance on one’s own strength. “All of these could become principles of policy in most Oblasts of Ukraine,” he stressed. A number of questions in a row of a serious nature gave way to irony, when one of the residents of Kharkov expressed a desire to take a post in the DPR, and asked if this could be done. The answer was not long in coming. The leader of the state said that “everything is very simple.” All one has to do is become a citizen of the DPR, to declare his candidacy for the elections, and earn the trust of the residents. As reported to DAN by the administration of the Head of the Republic, the responses by Zakharchenko were to questions asked by people in all major cities of the Kharkov Oblast. “People wrote and submitted [questions] about the problems in their cities and the region. In addition to Kharkov, there is Chuguyiv, Kupyansk, Izyum, Lozovaya, Balakleya and others,” said the agency. The Administration added that the issues posed to the DPR leader came from “other regions of Novorossiya and Ukraine, as well as from abroad—from Germany, Israel, Poland, Finland, Canada, Sweden and the United States.” During the direct line, three DDOS attacks were carried out on DAN (two on the site receiving questions, one on the DAN website), but the experts were able to quickly restore the resources. At the end of the direct line, Alexander Zakharchenko thanked all those of Kharkov who were not afraid to talk directly with him, and announced plans to hold online conferences with a number of other regions of Ukraine—in particular with Odessa, Dnipropetrovsk and residents of KIev. Zakharchenko’s Direct Line Conference with Residents of Karkhov – Full Text – April 21, 2016 / Integrative*Mind (Source: DAN) / Automatic translation (unedited) / April 21, 2016 / Introduction by Quemado Institute: Time constraints and the length of DPR President Zakharchenko’s Direct Line Conference with residents of Kharkov did not allow for a proper translation of this important and illuminating event. What follows is an automatic translation without any editing, so the text is very approximate. We may update periodically with minor improvements to the transcript. Zakharchenko speaks frankly and openly on participants’ questions about the Donbass war, Igor Strelkov (called “Gunmen” in the autotranslation), the assassinations of NAF commanders, the Kiev leadership, and the role of the United States in instigating the conflict. Again, in our opinion, President of the Donetsk People’s Republic Alexander Zakharchenko proves himself a leader of caliber comparable to that of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Zakharchenko Online: Dear Kharkov! Thank you for what you are not afraid to ask a question and that matters were essentially and important both for you and for us. Of course, not all the questions I had to answer – there are several thousand. But as the full version of our communication with you will continue to stay on this page, I will try to answer more questions later on the other. And I promise that in the near future will hold another online conference with other regions. 14:35 Question: Hi, I live in Kharkov, 29 years! And for the last 3 years the level of my life and my family has plummeted, it became critical to earn money for living! OSCE Mission Exposed: Hiding the Truth about War in Donbass (DONi News Documentary VIDEO) / DONi News / April 21, 2016 / The OSCE claims to be a neutral observer of the conflict in Donbass and its staff should report first hand on daily events. But is this really true? Are the OSCE reports reliable, accurate and objective, as those should be? So, have you heard about the dramatic situation in Zaitsevo, the civilian village located close to the frontline in Gorlovka, Donetsk People’s Republic? Over the past weeks and months, Zaitsevo, and it’s over thousand residents have been targeted in daily basis by the Ukrainian armed forces with several weapon systems of all possible calibers. Heavily damaged village has been for months without electricity and gas supplies. Because of the daily aggressions, it has been difficult or even impossible to provide for residents of Zaitsevo with humanitarian aid. At the same time the independent relief efforts were made to patch some of the most urgent needs among the population living in truly hellish conditions. The war in Donbass continues, but the fact is, that the OSCE monitoring mission and the daily OSCE reports keeping silent about the events, especially in Zaitsevo, which the local defenders say, is attacked daily and heavily by the Ukrainian army, Right Sector troops, Tatars and even western backed mercenaries. The DONi News team was following closely the work of the OSCE and especially the Head of the Monitoring mission, Alexander Hug in Zaitsevo. We had been documenting life in Zaitsevo and the DONi News Team had also been targeted by the Ukrainian forces while visiting this village, it’s vicinities and the defensive positions of the Donetsk Army. This exclusive documentary will reveal our findings concerning the Donetsk battlefield in the middle of the civilian populated area, giving us some needed answers about the OSCE actions and also raising up new, serious questions about the hidden war in Donbass. DPR Close to Completing “Road Map” to Implement Minsk-2 – Pushilin / Donetsk News Agency (DAN) / Translated by Quemado Institute / April 21, 2016 / The Donetsk People’s Republic has almost finished work on a version of the “road map” for implementation of the Minsk peace agreements. This reporters were told today by the head of the DPR delegation to the talks in Minsk, People’s Council Chairman Denis Pushilin. “Everything has been drawn up, even with reference to Ukrainian legislation, as we have to help in many ways and show where and how they can fulfill their obligations,” said the speaker of the Council. “We have just a little bit left to adjust in our version of the ‘road map’, and then it’s ready.” Recall that on the eve of his first news conference in 2016, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said that the Minsk agreements require a new “road map” and a new date by which the parties will undertake to implement, without exception, the items of the Minsk Agreements in the specified sequence. Pushilin then stated that the Republic agrees with the need to implement the “road map” to ensure the implementation of the Set of Measures, but that the vision of the Ukrainian side in this matter is fundamentally different. On the eve of April 20, after a meeting of the Contact Group on the peaceful settlement of the situation in the Donbass, OSCE Special Representative and head of the plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation Boris Gryzlov told journalists that the new “road map” to the peace process is being prepared by the Russian delegation. This document will have to provide, in the first half of 2016, for the performance of all political points specified by the Set of Measures for the implementation of “Minsk-2”. On this basis, the new “road map” will ensure peace and security in Donbass.

Jean-Marc Ayrault in Moscow (--Vasily Maximov/AFP)

Jean-Marc Ayrault in Moscow (–Vasily Maximov/AFP)

French FM Ayrault is Angry at Kiev for Sabotaging Peace in Donbass / Sputnik News / April 21, 2016 / The French government criticized Kiev for failing to implement the Minsk peace agreement on Ukraine’s reconciliation, Le Figaro reported. / During his visit to Moscow, French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault said Kiev must stick to its promises and start making concrete steps toward the implementation of the Minsk peace accords. “The government in Kiev must implement reforms and introduce particular amendments in its constitution on the special status of Donbass and the electoral process in the region. We hope that the results will be achieved by the end of this year,” Ayrault said, according to the French newspaper. This is the first time when the French government has taken the side of Moscow in the Ukrainian issue, Le Figaro said. In the past, most Western countries blamed Russia for delaying the peace process in Eastern Ukraine. The belief was that Moscow doesn’t put enough pressure on Donbass militia, who according to the West, were under the Kremlin’s control and were allegedly responsible for ceasefire violations in the region, the newspaper said. But on Tuesday, the French Foreign Minister openly admitted that it is Kiev that’s sabotaging peace in Donbass. Ayrault also condemned the actions of new Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman who proposed to create the Ministry of the Occupied Territories, the term Kiev uses to call the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics. The top French diplomat warned Kiev that this step will delay the implementation of the Minsk deal, Le Figaro said. The Russian Foreign Minister also criticized Groysman’s initiative, fearing that with the new ministry Kiev will try to conquer the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics by force and would certainly escalate the situation. Southeastern Ukraine has been suffering from a crisis triggered by a military operation launched by Kiev authorities against local militias in the regions of Donetsk and Lugansk in April 2014. The regions have refused to recognize the pro-Western government in Kiev that came to power in 2014 in what they consider to have been a coup. In February 2015, Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine worked out a ceasefire deal in Minsk later signed by Kiev and the Donbass militia. Despite the fact that the agreement was reached a year ago, both sides have been repeatedly reporting violations of the deal. Quemado Institute comments: Sputnik is reprehensible for not acknowledging the “coup” as a fact. If readers know who drives Sputnik’s policy, please comment.

News Platform Russia Insider Embroiled in Scandal / Quemado Institute / April 17, 2016 / Alternative websites Vineyard of the Saker and Fort Russ have published articles in the last few days explaining or implying legal and financial scandal and fraud at the pro-Donbass website Russia Insider. Quemado Institute’s impression of Russia Insider has been that the news platform has become increasing commercially oriented over the past year, with more and more advertisements interfering with the flow of information and making the articles hard to read. We continue to put up with this inconvenience because the RI website is among the very best for readers seeking Donbass news. We post their articles frequently. Our only question here is why anyone cares if Russia Insider misallocates funds. Yet The Saker and Fort Russ (see articles) are taking these allegations very seriously. Russia Insider is a for-profit corporation. As far as we’re concerned, it can use its funds however it wants. The money is freely donated by readers with the promise that advertisements will be eliminated. What is most important, Russia Insider‘s positive contributions to global awareness of the cause of Donbass far outweigh any negative aspects of having possibly cheated its readers. Quemado Institute hopes the whole issue blows over with a big so what!

Groisman Appointment as Prime Minister Will Not Help End Ukraine’s Political Turmoil / DAN / Translated by Quemado Institute / April 14, 2016 / DONETSK / The appointment of Vladimir Groisman for the post of Prime Minister of Ukraine does not lead the country out of a state of political chaos. This opinion was expressed today to DAN by the acting the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of Donetsk Natalia Nikonorova. “The appointment of Groisman is a change of government policy to one even more loyal to the viewpoint of Poroshenko,” said the head of the Foreign Ministry. “One of the recent statements by the new Prime Minister, dated April 5, on the impossibility of holding elections in Donbass, reflects word-for-word the position of the President of Ukraine. At the same time to say it is not necessary to have real opposition and a stable coalition does not in any way lead to the country’s from political chaos.” Recall that today the Verkhovna Rada sacked Arseniy Yatsenyuk and appointed to the post of Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman, who previously held the post of parliament speaker. This decision was supported by 257 deputies with the required minimum of 226 votes. Editor’s note: For Nikonorova’s full statement, see below. Acting DPR Foreign Minister Natalia Nikonorova Comments on New Decisions of Ukrainian Authorities – Full Statement / DAN / Translated by Quemado Institute / April 14, 2016 / Today in Ukraine a variety of politically sensitive events have taken place. Poroshenko, in his speech at the session of the Verkhovna Rada, announced the creation of a new Ministry for issues of internally displaced persons, the ATO zone and the occupied territories, and called for changes in the constitution of Ukraine with regard to decentralization and implementation of Minsk with the aim of a “peaceful return of Donbass”. Also, members of the Verkhovna Rada elected a new prime minister today. The appointment Groisman is a change of government policy toward a more loyal position to that of Poroshenko. One of the recent statements by the new Prime Minister, dated April 5, on the impossibility of holding elections in Donbass, reflects word-for-word the position of the President of Ukraine. At the same time to speak as a real opposition and a stable coalition is not necessary, it does not lead to the exit of the country from political chaos. Calls to Mr. Poroshenko for the speedy amendment of the Constitution of Ukraine concerning decentralization once again demonstrate its relevance to the implementation of the Minsk agreements: the draft amendments, which had already been adopted in the first reading, has to be agreed upon with the representatives of the Republic, and do not reflect the characteristics of our territories, the prescribed set of measures and, in the opinion of the Venice Commission, cannot serve as the basis for the settlement of the conflict. Also, despite the financial crisis and falling living standards in Ukraine, funds are sought for the establishment and operation of a new Ministry “of ATO Affairs”. The appointed head of the newly created department previously headed a similar agency, and even participated in the Minsk talks, but we cannot admit any success in his activities because of there was none. Renaming departments and castling individuals with the same views can never lead to a real change in the situation in Ukraine, in whole or in relations with the Republic. We continue to be reminded that the one and only option to save the Ukraine is the full and unconditional implementation of the Package of Measures. The Dutch Referendum: A Storm Warning for Ukraine / By Dmitry Minin / Strategic Culture Foundation / April 14, 2016 / The results of the Dutch referendum on Ukraine’s Association Agreement with the European Union will likely turn out to be more helpful than harmful to Kiev. Brussels will also find it useful. Because the fact is – watching how this agreement between Ukraine and the EU has played out over the past year has only substantiated the most ominous predictions. Ukraine’s association with the EU promises to completely gut the country’s economy in just a couple of years. There is no future for Ukrainian agriculture, nor for its industrial sector that has lost markets in the East and cannot possibly find any in the West. Ukrainian exports to all destinations continue to plummet, including those headed west. The path to Europe is blocked because of quotas and Europe’s own overproduction of food, and Russia is a no-go for both political reasons as well as the lack of strategic vision on the part of the Ukrainian government. Experts claim that the problem is not that the Dutch are particularly overly skeptical about Ukraine. Citizens of many European countries – France and Italy for example, where no referendums have been held on this issue – feel the same. It has nothing to do with «Ukrainophobia». Many of the respondents in the Netherlands who oppose the Association Agreement claimed that it would be harmful to Ukraine itself. It seemed that a referendum would be a convenient excuse to revise a failed project and to return to the tripartite format suggested by Moscow (Ukraine–EU–Russia) for the discussions and cooperation. But it’s not all that simple. Brussels is in no hurry to admit its mistakes and has no wish to accept political responsibility or suffer any loss to its reputation, nor concede anything to Moscow. However, other than a dubious relaxation of visa restrictions, Ukraine is being offered nothing in exchange for the failed Association Agreement. This is understandable: you can’t rescue someone who is doing nothing to save himself. Kiev is motivated by something else. The entire mythology . . . MORE>> Click here.

VIDEO: Renewed Ukraine Military Shelling in Donbass / Global Reseaarch (from South Front) / April 14, 2016 / The Donetsk People’s Republic Security Service declared the detention of the colonel of Ukraine’s Security Service, in the past one of the commanders of “Alpha” unit. According to DPR officials, the suspect stated he was the acting representative of the UN mission in Donetsk. At the same time, he wasn’t registered as the employee of the mission and came to the territory of the republic without the corresponding notice. On the same day, the representative office of the United Nations in Ukraine declared that the employee of the UN had been detained in the territory of Donbass currently not under the control of Kiev. On April 12, the Lugansk People’s Republic militia shot down two UAVs of Ukraine’s Armed Forces. According to the LPR People’s Militia Major Andrey Marochko, the Kiev side intensified the activity of sniper groups and intelligence with use of UAVs along the contact line. The representatives of OSCE SMM to Ukraine registered the mining of the Kiev-controlled territories near Zolotoye. The mines have been likely set by Kiev’s forces. During the revision of the constant places of the Armed Forces of Ukraine military equipment storage, OSCE representatives registered the absence of 6 anti-tank guns ‘Rapier’, 20 mortars ‘Cornflower’ and ‘Sledge’, 16 T-72 and T-64 battle tanks. It’s obvious that the absent equipment is deployed at the contact line. The Ukrainian military has been shelling the Donetsk-Gorlovka road in order to cut the communications between these cities. Especially heavy artillery fire was observed near Yasinovataya. Meanwhile, Kiev-sponsored media report that DPR and LPR militias increased shellings at the contact line. According to reports, the militia forces shelled positions of the Ukrainian military 87 times only on April 13. 8 Ukrainian servicemen were wounded. Separately, a Ukrainian infantry fighting vehicle was blown up by a landmine. –Copyright © South Front, South Front, 2016 [VIDEO available at source.]

Vladimir Suchan on Putin’s Criterion for a Happy Donbass / By Vladimir Suchan / Facebook / April 15, 2016 / According to Putin (viz today’s press conference), all that is needed for the people of Donbass to feel happy and safe from Ukrainian fascists is to have their area declared “special” by the same fascist government in a paragraph added to the Ukrainian constitution. Once fascists call you special (and even in writing), then you no longer need to worry. Putin’s logic would guarantee it. If so, however, then Putin has also brilliantly undermined Moscow’s case for the reunification of Crimea with Russia. For Putin is now telling us that being declared a special locality by the Nazis under the Nazis and their sovereign government is sufficient and enough as far as one’s worries and political rights are concerned. If so, then, one has to wonder why Putin would stop there and not ask the Banderites to declare the whole of Ukraine “special”? Evidently, Putin believes that by being declared special by the Nazis would make one very special and very protected. If so, one would expect that sooner or later Putin might begin extending similar “special” protection and treatment over Russia too. After all, he studied law under Sobchak, whose daughter played in a very tasteful Russian movie Hitler’s mistress Eva Braun in equally tasteful positions.
