Tragedies in Donbass, 2014-2015, thousands dead.
School in Suburbs of Gorlovka Shelled by UAF During Class – Director / DAN / Edited autotranslation / November 13, 2015 / ZAITSEVO / Mortar shelling on the grounds of school number 15 in the village of Zaitsevo north of Gorlovka by Ukrainian security officials took place during the sessions this morning, it was clarified to DAN in an interview with Trend by the director of the institution Elena Kazakova. “This is the first firing in a long time that has occurred in the daytime – about 9:20,” she said. Earlier, it was reported that the shelling occurred at about half past nine in the evening on November 12. Kazakova stressed that at the time of the shelling at the school, there were classes in the building with 33 students and a 29-man staff. “We specially set the maximum safe time frame for lessons, but this time, as you can see, it did not save us,” noted the director. After the shelling, the students and teachers were evacuated from the school building. Many children were taken to their parents. According to management, today at school number 15 in Zaitsevo village, there are 109 children, but they attend classes depending on the military situation. Today, representatives of the DPR Ministry of Defense and the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the ceasefire came to inspect the place that was fired on.
Shelling of School in Suburb of Gorlovka Conducted from Three Directions – Ministry of Defense / DAN / Edited autotranslation / November 13, 2015 / ZAITSEVO / Fire from the UAF [Ukrainian Armed Forces] on the school grounds in the village of Zaitsevo on the northern outskirts of Gorlovka was conducted from three directions, it was reported today to DAN by the Ministry of Defense of the Donetsk People’s Republic. “The UAF fired at the school from three directions. The shelling came from the regions and localities of Zhovanka and Bahmutka located to the west and north-west of the village of Zaitsevo,” said the Defense Ministry. The Defense Ministry added that the damage to the school building fixed bearing walls and inside the educational institution found fragments charges easel antitank grenade launcher [sic]. According to Trend, DAN, the OSCE observation mission is still in the place that received fire at the school in the suburbs of Gorlovka. and continues to explore the craters and destruction. DAN previously reported that to determine the circumstances of the morning’s emergency, representatives of the DPR Ministry of Defense and STSKK were in attendance at the site. On thhe school grounds they found the crater left by the mines, including 120 mm. Recall that this morning, the Ukrainian security forces fired mortars and rocket-propelled grenades in the area of school number 15 in the village of Zaitsevo on the northern outskirts of Gorlovka. The fire was discovered in the classroom. The building had 33 children who were evacuated through the window.
Kiev fighters shelled the suburbs of Donetsk / Novorossia Today / November 13, 2015 / Fighters of Kiev punitive battalions subjected to longstanding shelling western suburbs of the capital of the DPR. ‘Ukrainian fighters opened fire last night at the village Staromihaylovka in the West of Donetsk, village Spartak to the North from the capital and Volvo-Center and airport territory’, it was reported to the Donetsk News Agency. It was added that shelling started at 21.00 pm and finished at 01.30 am today. The resource reported that Kiev punitives launched at suburbs of the city about 50 mines of 82 and 120 mm caliber for the night. Be reminded that withdrawal of 82 -120 mm caliber mortars was to be fulfilled from the frontline in Donbass in accordance with addition to Minsk complex of measures to 12th November.
About the Shamelessness of Ukrainian Politics / by Alexander Zakharchenko / Zakharchenko official website / Edited autotranslation / November 13, 2015 / The leader of Donbass Alexander Zakharchenko said about the attempts to use his name in the election campaign in Ukraine: “I am amazed at the cynicism and shamelessness of Ukrainian politicians! This is not the first time the Ukrainian media has said that I support this or that Gdańsk figure in his fight for votes. At the same time, they refer to certain groups in social networks which have nothing to do with me. So firstly, I want to say that all of the political parties in Ukraine, I consider tobe part of the regime that was installed in the coup. And this is the regime that unleashed civil war in Ukraine and arranged the genocide in Donbass. I personally, and my colleagues, cannot support those who directly or indirectly maintained silence while [tr?] Kiev carried out a punitive operation against our native Donbass. And in this regard, Ukrainian politicians have lost all shame and conscience. They unleashed a civil war that killed thousands of people, as if it were outside their country. And now this war is being used in dirty political games. So, I do not know how to interpret the use of my name in the election campaign, especially in cities such as Nikolaev, Kherson, Kharkiv and Odessa – as a minus or a plus. But one thing I can say to Ukrainian politicians: Get your hands dirty and bloody like the people of Donbass who have protected it from your executioners! And to the inhabitants of Mykolayiv, I can address only one appeal: [speak with – tr?] a voice as your conscience tells you. Do not sell your votes for 30 pieces of silver. You remember, in the Gospel who was the money? Remember that if you promise wealth, but suppress your national and cultural identity, select your language, culture and faith, then, having received authority, the vultures will select those 30 pieces of silver which bought your voice. Your fate you should decide yourself. We in Donbass know this well, and have already proven it to the world.
“Crimea is Russian, and that’s not just from the point of view of history” / Translated from French by Tom Winter / Fort Russ / November 11, 2015 / The Crimea is Russian, and “that’s not from the point of view of history. Today, the facts show plainly that the people of Crimea are a people attached to Russia, and who are, to put it simply, Russian,” says Ronald Zonca, editorialist for Boulevard Voltaire in an interview with Sputnik. “I very well knew the epoch when the Crimea was Ukrainian. Now I can see the difference between Urainian Crimea and Russian Crimea,” says Mr Zonca. Living there in one’s day-to-day life, one realizes that the people are, in sum total, already very happy and very proud, he emphasizes, quoting his Crimean friends that say they are living in a country they love. It is, all the same, very revelatory, figures the editorialist. “This land is Russia. And this is not from the point of view of history. Today, the facts show plainly that the people of Crimea are a people attached to Russia, and who are, to put it simply, Russian,” he continues. According to Mr. Zonca, his Crimean friends don’t understand the Ukrainian language. He gives the example of a jurist that he knows . . . MORE>> Click here.

Frontline update: UAF changes routine, “working against the clock” to prepare new offensive / Translated by J. Arnoldski / Fort Russ / November 11, 2015 / “Update on the military situation in Donetsk from war-correspondent ‘Mag'” The General Staff of the UAF is in a hurry as actions throughout their territories show. Usually, shelling and combat operations increase before the weekend, but the schedule has noticeably begun to change over the last two weeks. Just a week ago, they didn’t stray from the plan so much and shelling and attacks lasted from Friday evening until early Monday morning. [But now things are changing…] Yesterday, November 9, and today, November 10, punitive forces shelled Donetsk and surrounding villages the entire night. In the morning, shelling was resumed for a few hours into the day. In the center of the capital of the DPR, nothing can be heard. Peaceful life is blossoming there. But on the outskirts, it is as if the war never stopped. Some officials say that the Nazi battalions beyond Kiev’s control are the ones shelling. This is complete nonsense. First of all, the Nazi battalions haven’t had any heavy weapons, and either way [Kiev] has been afraid to issue them any. Kiev offered them to join the structure of the UAF or the Ministry of Internal Affairs so that they could obtain tanks and artillery. Those who went really received equipment and artillery. But we’re talking about those who aren’t submitting to the leadership of the UAF or the MIF. Now, shelling isn’t coming from one sector of the front with 1-2 mines and shells. Now they’re starting to fire more often from all parts of the front simultaneously for 5-6 minutes. I have a question. Are the “battalions disobeying Kiev” not behaving in an orderly manner? After last week, the NAF gave a short response in Peski district, and two Mi-8 helicopters urgently flew in but were intercepted by radio 15 300’s. This never happened before. Usually, between 7 – 10 in Peski and Krasnoarmeysk and so on, the wounded are taken out in UAZ’s. But two transport helicopters immediately flew in. These are some strange disobedient battalions… Yesterday, after bombarding us with mines, a firefight ensued, and then the Ukrainians showered us with mines until the morning. The official authorities of the DPR counted around 120 mines that landed on the territory of Donetsk and surrounding towns. At approximately 6:40, there was a pair of loud bangs and residents weren’t sure if Grad’s were being fired again. During the day, it was quiet or, at least, no shelling was heard. But during the evening, action came at 17:45 when the Ukrainians started to shell the fields around the airport and Spartak with mines. After an hour, mines were launched at the main streets and the outskirts of Veseloe and the western outskirts of Zhabunki. Simultaneously, the Ukrainians fired at the hillock where militia are positioned near the Yasinovatsky fork. Frankly speaking, it wasn’t clear why they shelled the fields, the streets, and Zhabunki, as the settlement is in the neutral zone and only reconnaissance and sabotage groups from both sides drop go there and leave presents in the form of mines for each other. We’re used to mines and shells flying far behind the backs of the militia on peaceful neighborhoods. But here there isn’t even a front, and it’s even 300m to 1 km away from positions. Maybe they were trying to defuse the mines in this way? Later, militia positions were subjected to fire. Afterwards, shooting began. Not even firefights. The Nazi’s guns are firing, but ours are silent. Automatic grenade launchers and secondary guns were firing, but ours were silent, and the Ukrainians are beginning to fire fragmentation rounds and grenade launchers. We give a short burst, and then a Ukrainian tank rolls up and tries to shut up our shooter. And this lasts a few hours… At approximately 19:00, I heard the roar of an aircraft, but the sound resembled a turboprop and not a jet. It flew to the north-east of Donetsk. In fact, many passers-by raised their heads and began to talk, and a Donetsk resident on the third floor event went to the balcony, and he also heard a rumble in the sky. For a while I’ve lived near the railway and in peacetime we used to hear incoming, landing aircraft. The dispatcher would send them for a second round over our neighborhoods before landing. The sound was very similar. I don’t know if it was intelligence or if they were jamming our communications. At approximately 21:00, I heard a bang in the sky, and it was said that our air defenses fired. But not much can be seen with such low cloud cover. Simultaneously, they shelled Donetsk and around Gorlovka, and there was fighting to the South of the DPR in Granitnoe district where the Viking battalion is positioned. The Ukrainians at first started to attack Viking positions from the north-west and after an hour the Ukrainians tried to shell and attack from the south-west. The result for the Ukrainians was the same as always. There were also fights in Krasny Partizan district and later in the night in Zhovanka district. I can tell anyone who is scared of an offensive that it’s raining now and this is forecasted to continue all week. Therefore, running through fields in the mud and trying to move equipment is very problematic. Therefore, although the Ukrainians are hurrying to meet deadlines, weather is dictating conditions. They will have to wait for the frost. I wish all my readers patience and good health! Note from J. Arnoldski: What war correspondent “Mag” describes appears to indicate efforts on the part of the UAF to clear existing mine fields with shelling and the dropping of new mines (intended to detonate the old ones?) in order to clear the way for forward movements. While doing so, the UAF appears to be increasing aircraft reconnaissance and distracting DPR militia with petty firefights and increased shelling at times different from the normal “schedule.” This can’t be attributed to “uncontrollable” Nazi volunteer battalions, in Mag’s view, as they don’t have access to the artillery, the equipment necessary for conducting such preparatory operations, or the aircraft recently observed quickly retrieving wounded and flying around Donetsk. According to Mag, the UAF is attempting to prepare an advance before the snow and frost appear, but heavy rain is rendering any equipment and troop movements problematic anyway. All of this seems to accord with “deadlines” from the General Staff of the UAF for securing forward positions in preparation for a future offensive. In Mag’s opinion, however, an offensive shouldn’t be expected any time soon on account of weather conditions, and once again the UAF is merely “working against the clock” and trying to provoke NAF forces…unsuccessfully as always.
BREAKING: Yarosh resigns from Right Sector leadership / Introduction by J. Arnoldski / Fort Russ / November 11, 2015 / Numerous reports are surfacing across the web announcing the resignation of Dmitry Yarosh from his position as leader of the Ukrainian fascist organization Right Sector. Varying accounts are appearing which attribute Yarosh’s resignation to political reasons, health reasons, or a combination of the two, and different perspectives have been presented. Fort Russ is continuing to gather, analyze, and translate information while the smoke clears and the situation and its details become clearer. More information on this development should be expected shortly. As for now, here is the translation of Yarosh’s announcement of his resignation on his Facebook page: “Brethren! On November 8, a conference of the senior staff of Right Sector was held in Kiev. Its purpose, as declared by the organizers – part of the RS leadership – was to arrange working materials for the preparation of a Ukraine-wide congress of Right Sector intended to become a unifying factor among Ukrainian patriots and prepare a revolutionary plan for countering external and internal enemies. But the organizers and some participants of the meeting took on illegitimate . . . MORE>> Click here.
Russia, West going through difficult period but war impossible: Russian PM / Strategic Culture Foundation /Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev admitted that Russian’s relations with certain Western countries are far from ideal, and they are going through a difficult period but the war scenario is impossible. “I don’t want to recognize such a possibility at all,” Medvedev was quoted by Rossiiskaya Gazeta newspaper as saying in an interview. “There are few heads of state who can actually recall the Second World War period. It doesn’t change our attitude toward the tragedy of military events, nor the disasters of the war,” he said. He added that the planet has survived two world wars, and now we are not even allowed to think about the possibility of something like this. “It’s important that any leaders of any states are well aware of the circumstances and are responsible for such decisions. I think that in the 21st century this scenario is impossible,” explained Medvedev. Relations between Russia and the West have been sour as the United States and the European Union have slapped sanctions against Moscow since March 2014 over Ukraine.
Re-enserfment of Western Peoples / by Paul Craig Roberts / Strategic Culture Foundation / November 9, 2015 / The re-enserfment of Western peoples is taking place on several levels. One about which I have been writing for more than a decade comes from the offshoring of jobs. Americans, for example, have a shrinking participation in the production of the goods and services that are marketed to them. On another level we are experiencing the financialization of the Western economy about which Michael Hudson is the leading expert (Killing The Host). Financialization is the process of removing any public presence in the economy and converting the economic surplus into interest payments to the financial sector. These two developments deprive people of economic prospects. A third development deprives them of political rights. The Trans-Pacific and Trans-Atlantic Partnerships eliminate political sovereignty and turn governance over to global corporations. These so called “trade partnerships” have nothing to do with trade. These agreements negotiated in secrecy grant immunity to corporations from the laws of the countries in which they do business. This is achieved by declaring any interference by existing and prospective laws and regulations on corporate profits as restraints on trade for which corporations can sue and fine “sovereign” governments. For example, the ban in France and other counries on GMO products would be negated by the Trans-Atlantic Partnership. Democracy is simply replaced by corporate rule. . . . MORE>> Click here.

Alexander Zakharchenko about the rumors of a power struggle and internal confrontation in the DPR / Zakharchenko official website / November 10, 2015 / Rumors must be fight with the truth. And the truth is that we have such people in the Republic, including the well-known one, whose views do not coincide with others, including my own. And this is normal! We are not in Ukraine! There isn’t any struggle for power in our republic. The Head elections and the elections to the People’s Council were held. The elections were representative and democratic. What is more, a political system is being built. I would rather say that we begin politics. The less war we have, the more policy we build. What does politics mean? It means different groups of people, with their own interests, their own ideas about the future. Political discussion but not a quarrel goes between the leaders. The main purpose of such discussion is to find out a compromise. Only those people who take part in the building of a political system of the DPR and play by the rules that we set together become politicians. And those who go beyond the rules remain marginal and losers. In this case the most important thing for me as for the Head of the state and guarantor of the Constitution is not to allowed such marginals to use the consequences of the war and to realize their sick ambitions with the help of force or money. My colleagues and I are ready for any political discussion, but we do not accept threats and blackmail.
Ukrainian army tries to break into DPR positions near Debaltsevo — mayor / TASS / November 10, 2015 / The Ukrainian armed forces have attempted on Tuesday morning to break through the positions of the units of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) near Debaltsevo, the city’s Mayor Alexey Granovsky said. “In the morning there was a violation by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, at about 1 a.m. they tried to break into our positions. I have just received the information from the military, and now we are trying to find out the details,” Donetsk News Agency quotes him as saying. According to him, the Ukrainian military used “heavy and small arms.” Granovsky noted that there was no information yet on civilian casualties and destruction of housing.
Gorlovka … Tanks on Izyum Trail, Storming Debaltsevo / by Katerina Evanova / novorossinform.org / Edited autotranslation [gaps in translation due to unclear text -QI editor] / November 10, 2015 / Ukrainian security officials, on the eve of the upcoming cold weather, intensified attempts to break the defenses of the Donetsk People’s Republic. This time the attack took place in the district of Debaltsevo. In the People’s Republic of Lugano, after a relative lull, the UAF [Ukrainian Armed Forces] … staged a show of light missiles. But Kiev gave modest excuses: such feats did not happen. What is at stake, we do not know. During the night, the truce was broken as the long-suffering Donetsk and Gorlovka [were attacked]…. Apparently, withdrawn UAF weapons were returned to the DPR with the evening twilight. … Call sign “Angel” … Small and heavy pros periodically. “Militias no longer give security officials a chance to roll back from a failed attack, and immediately opened fire to suppress the enemy’s battle positions. Thus, in the Donetsk airport, Spartak … and Peski there was fighting. Security officials … opened fire with mortars 82 th and 120-caliber grenade launchers, AGS and RPG. Near Debaltsevo, security forces attempted to break through the defensive line using more serious military equipment. “During the morning the shelling by Ukrainian security officials fired on DPR positions in Debaltsevo for at least 20 minutes, six of them using 120 mm,” reported the DPR Ministry of Defence. The roar of UAF military equipment did not cease in Donetsk before six in the morning: the capital of the Donbass and its suburbs spent nine hours under fire. Fortunately, there were no victims among the civilian population. Sound sleep last night was impossible for residents of Gorlovka and Ozeryanovki. UAF Transfers to Conflict Zone in Donbass Two Squadrons of Combat Helicopters / DAN / Edited autotranslation / November 10, 2015 / Intelligence of the Donetsk People’s Republic has recorded the arrival of Ukrainian helicopter gunships, artillery and tanks at occupied settlements in the vicinity of Gorlovka. This was announced today at a briefing in the DAN press center by Deputy Commander of the Corps DPR Defense Ministry Eduard Basurin. “We became aware of the arrival of two squadrons of combat helicopters in the village of Konstantinovka (a town northwest of Gorlovka -DAN), the presence of tanks in the village of Zhovanka (north of Gorlovka -DAN), artillery, four units ACS, in the village of Novoselovka (in the district Krasnolimanskiy -DAN),” said the representative of the Ministry of Defense. Recall that in the section of the line of contact near Gorlovka, there have recent regular outbreaks of conflict. On the eve of November 9, the DPR Ministry of Defense announced the preparation of Ukrainian punitive provocations in this area, as well as in the region of Donetsk. In addition, it was previously reported that in the occupied territories in the Gorlovka neighborhood, there was a concentration of Kiev extremist punitive units.
DPR Defence Ministry: Situation Report, 10.11.2015 / by Eduard Basurin, translated by DONi News / DONi News / November 10, 2015 / The situation has not changed significantly on the line of contact over the past day. We have recorded 11 provocations against our Republic with the use of mortars, infantry fighting vehicles and small arms. The main hot spots remain: Ozeryanovka, Shirokaya Balka (near Gorlovka), Spartak, Staromykhailovka and the Donetsk airport. More than 40 mortar shells have been fired on the territory of the republic during the day. Due to continuous shelling and provocations conducted by the Ukrainian forces, we have to suspend the rehabilitation works of power supply system on the contact line between two sides, in particular in the area of Gorlovka. Ukrainian military and political leadership continues to camouflage the fulfillment of the Minsk agreements. The Ukrainian officials announced yesterday that they had withdrawn the mortars of 120 mm calibre. But today we may say that the leaders’ decisions of great states of Russia, Germany and France and the international obligations are being ignored by the Ukrainian side. The deliberate attack at 6.45 from 82 mm mortars on Volvo Center in Donetsk (5 mortar shells were fired) shows the purposeful nature of these provocations. Repeated violations by the Ukrainian side remain unpunished. In addition, we got confirmation of the provocation near Mayorsk on November 8th where the Ukrainian Special Forces dressed in an old military uniform of the DPR’s army, fired the units of the Ukrainian forces with small-arms and mortars, simulating an attack. Today, the headquarters of ATO (“Anti-terroristic operation”) reported about one wounded Ukrainian officer. That means, there were losses in the poorly organized military performance. Ukraine continues to escalate the situation with its statements and actions. Ukrainian media have openly declared that the decisions to open fire are made by unit commanders of the Ukrainian troops. Thus, the political leadership of Ukraine demonstrates the inability to control a gang of Ukrainian nationalists and some military units of the Ukrainian forces. Also, we have detected the arrival of two squadrons of combat helicopters in the town of Konstantinovka, the location of tanks in the settlement of Zhovanka, artillery systems in the settlement of Novoselovka. I want to draw attention of the Ukrainian military chiefs who give criminal orders to fire peaceful settlements and to commit armed provocations against the units of the DPR’s army, that it may eventually lead to casualties on both sides!
Kiev expects introduction of UN peacemakers in Donbass / DONi News / November 10, 2015 / During the visit to New York the delegation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reminded that Kiev expects the UN decision on international mission’s expansion to the east of Ukraine – the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence. The Ukrainian side reminded that in March the Cabinet of Ministers of the country officially addressed the Security council and the Secretary General of the United Nations with a request to develop the international peacekeeping operation under the UN’s direction intended to maintain peace and safety in the east of Ukraine. In its opinion, introduction of UN peacemakers in Donbass would become a very effective instrument of the Minsk Agreement’s implementation. “The specified question gains the vital value at the present stage,” the department reported. In March Ukrainian authorities came forward with an initiative to develop a peacekeeping mission in Donbass. Military peacekeeping mission can be set only to the extent authorized by the UN Security Council. Having the right of veto in the United Nations Security Council, Russia is ready to discuss the issue of sending peacemakers to Ukraine, but the country’s authorities have a set of questions on the point. Quemado Institute comments: Introduction of UN Peacekeepers violates the Minsk Agreements, which provide for monitoring of the ceasefire by the OSCE only. Indeed, the Package of Measures forbids the presence of foreign forces. Clause 10 requires the “pullout of all foreign armed formations [and] military equipment.” UN troops would fall under this category, and would therefore be disallowed. This clause was included for good reason: the presence of foreign forces risks spreading the conflict beyond Ukraine. A further problem with UN Peacekeepers is, they would not be impartial, but would inevitably side with the West, enforce the ceasefire only against the DPR/LPR, and thereby constitute de facto fortification of the Ukrainian army. This is why Poroshenko wants them. Note that the DPR/LPR reprentatives did not sign an agreement that permits UN forces in Donbass. Such a move would nullify Minsk 2.0 and justify a renewed DPR/LPR offensive. If the Kremlin approves UN Peacekeepers, they will have proven themselves the ultimate betrayers of Donbass.
Sad Reminder: Not All is Well in Lugansk / Quemado Institute Opinion / November 10, 2105 / Revered Russian philosopher and global analyst Alexander Dugin maintained silence on the Donbass situation for one year, ending his protest only this month. His reason for silence? The Minsk Agreements constitute a betrayal of Donbass by Moscow, yet Dugin believed if he criticized his country Russia, he would be serving the interests of the West. There is another side to this though: if patriots do not speak out, the enemy has effectively silenced them. In that spirit, we note there are strong Novorossiya supporters who condemn the Minsk Agreements–which mandate the loss of Donbass independence–and who deplore the way dissenters have been treated internally, Twitter source OceanEchoes, among these supporters, tweets the sad reminder today: “After the murders of Bednov & Ishchenko, LiveLeak asked who Plotnitsky would murder next….Mozgovoi?” The question from Liveleak appeared on January 23, 2015, following the murder of NAF Commander Alexander Bednov. Thus, Liveleak had predicted the assassination of Alexey Mozgovoi, which occurred a few months later after one failed attempt. Note that mayor of Pervomaisk Evgeny Ischenko, shortly before he was killed, had called LPR Head Igor Plotnitsky a traitor.

Battles Right Now in Donbass / Quemado Institute / November 9, 2015 / Muliple Twitter sources on location near Donetsk report fighting right now (21:15 UTC November 9) at the Donetsk airport with artillery and tanks. Combat is also going on at Butovka mine. Well-known pro-Novorossiya Twitter source Enrico Ivanov tweets at about 20:20 UTC: “Breaking! Fightings with the use of mortars and rifles near Lebedynske! East of #Mariupol!” Lebedynske lies near the contact line about 5 km northwest of Shirokino. Other Twitter sources are trying to verify Ivanov’s report. An enemy source who is often reliable tweets: “Donetsk Kalinovka War towards N/NW, explosions distant ones and close (as from Putilovka) are audible.” Unfamiliar source Michaël Dicaire tweets at about 20:20 UTC: “There was fighting all day long on the #Donetsk contact line, #Avdiivka, #Maryinka, #Butovka. Restless day. / Tonight, it’s not better in Avdiivka, fighting goes on. Salvos are still ongoing in #Donetsk and machine guns. Maryinka can still hear battle. / Full on battle in Avdiivka now, Constant rattling of assault rifles is joined up by explosions every 10-15 seconds. #Donbas.” Well-known pro-Donbass source Pete John posts the photo report shown here at about 22:00 UTC. Aggravation of the Situation Around Donetsk / by Colonel Cassad / Slavyangrad / Posted November 10, Original October 29, 2015 / The day before yesterday [this post was written Oct 29 –ed.], and especially yesterday, shelling and firing around Donetsk intensified; as is tradition, the firing was in the region of Donetsk Airport and the surrounding villages. 1. The withdrawal of arms is officially continuing and these attacks are described as “minor ceasefire violations”, however, over the past couple of days it has become more complicated to fail to notice them. 2. The shelling reveals the simple fact that the junta, as usual, is committing fraud in regard to withdrawal of weapons and that—in addition to firearms, rocket-propelled grenades and mortars—it is using tanks and mortars of 120mm calibre, although officially these have been withdrawn. 3. Over the course of yesterday, the junta officially had one 200 and three 300s [Russian official military jargon: 200 = KIA; 300 = WIA –ed.] in the vicinity of Donetsk. The intensity of fire was such that the group monitoring “truce” compliance was forced to withdraw from the area of the Donetsk railway station, and today it was . . . MORE>> Click here.
Changes in the DPR and the LPR / Slavyangrad / November 5, 2015 / Regarding yesterday’s information from Zot’ev that Surkov may be removed from the Donbass. With respect to the sweeping out of the current composition of curators, the information is confirmed. Zhuchkovsky: Today all the “curators” in the PRs [the People’s Republics –ed.] have been dismissed. I do not know yet exactly about Surkov (though there are reports from the Ukrainian side that he was removed), but all the executors and “supervisors” were removed from the game. Let’s see whether new people are coming and who they will be. According to some reports, supervision is passing to “the office” [the FSB –trans.] as was the case in the spring and early summer of 2014. In general, the next reformatting of Russia’s policy in the Donbass has begun. Some people believe that this may be due to a possible escalation of the conflict with Ukraine, others talk about an escalation of the struggle for the increasingly scanty budgets of the Russian Federation. Actually, apart from Zhuchkovsky, this information was confirmed by my sources in the DPR and the LPR with whom I discussed the topic yesterday and today. It was also confirmed . . . Rostislav Ischenko, Surkov’s PR bixch, on why Surkov has to remain the Kremlin’s chief handler of Donbass: Western partners need him / Vladimir Suchan / Logos Politicos / November 8, 2015 / Rostislav Ischenko, a key Surkov’s propagandist of the Minsk deal, hence, of restoring fascist sovereignty over Donbass, recently explained the “indispensable” role and significance of Vladislav Surkov, Putin’s pointed man for handling Donbass in the following colorful, sycophant-like terms. Ischenko explains that Surkov has to stay–primarily because of Moscow’s concern for the Western partners in order to reassure them that everything is going according to the agreement, the plan, as expected; the Western partners need Surkov to stay: “Surkov already embodies a specific policy. If he is gone, it would be a demonstration not only for the Russian people interested [in the fate of Donbass], but also for Donbass, Ukraine, the United States, our Western Partners that Russia’s policy is to undergo changes. Analysts: Kiev needs tensions in Donbas as excuse for belt tightening / by Tamara Zamyatina / TASS / November 9, 2015 / As winter time is round the corner, the authorities in Kiev need a surge in tensions in the southeast of Ukraine as an excuse for their belt tightening policies, polled experts have told TASS in the wake of reports Ukrainian weapons were being moved closer to the disengagement line in Donbas. At last Friday’s foreign minister level Normandy Quartet meeting in Berlin the negotiators discussed the pullback of weapons from the front line in the southeast of Ukraine. The foreign ministers stated that the pullback of weapons with calibers under 100 mm and tanks was proceeding in accordance with the timetable by and large. “This process is to be over by November 12,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told the media. However, on Saturday the spokesman for the Defense Ministry of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, Eduard Basurin, said the reconnaissance units had identified the arrival of a group of Ukrainian self-propelled artillery pieces and tanks at the engagement line in Donbas. “Last Saturday’s strike against Donetsk confirmed that in the Ukrainian armed forces there are certain people and units who are against peace and who have been trying to provoke . . . Ukraine’s Tymoshenko considers results of local election falsified / TASS / November 9, 2015 / KIEV / Leader of the Batkivshchyna faction in the Verkhovna Rada Yulia Tymoshenko has said the results of October 25 local election in Ukraine were falsified. “The results of the election have been analyzed for 15 days, though the law envisages 10 days for that. I address the president, prosecutor general and interior minister with a question on who is responsible for the election falsification continuing for 15 days,” Tymoshenko said at a council of heads of deputy groups and factions. She noted that “only falsification can be carried out for so long, not real results.” Tymoshenko stressed that Batkivshchyna will not exit the coalition despite its critical position toward the government. Editor’s note: The Wikipedia entry on Tymoshenko exhibits a heavy Western bias. It does however say, “[A]fter her release from prison on 22 February 2014, Yulia Tymoshenko … had a number of meetings and phone conversations with USA, EU, and OSCE officials. Tymoshenko addressed the European Union, leaders of western democracies and of countries which guaranteed Ukraine’s territorial unity according the Budapest Memorandum; she called for action to stop what she has called the ‘Russian aggression’…. Upon her return to Kyiv, Tymoshenko gathered military and defense experts and suggested launching a special headquarters that would elaborate responses to threats coming from Russia…. In a recording (purportedly a leaked phone conversation with Nestor Shufrych …) Tymoshenko appeared to say in reference to the reunification of Crimea with Russia: ‘This is really beyond all boundaries. It’s about time we grab our guns and go kill those damn Russians together with their leader; and nuke 8 million Russians who are now exiles in Ukraine.’ In a statement, while admitting she had spoken to Shufrych on the telephone, Tymoshenko denied having advocated the use of nuclear bombs…” (Map: 2014 Ukraine presidential election percentage of vote for Tymoshenko.
