In the capital of the DPR a presentation of the book “Anti-Maidan: the history of the genocide of the people of the South-East of Ukraine” was held / / August 26, 2015 / Today on August, 25 in the lecture hall of the Donetsk Republican universal scientific library named after N. K. Krupskaya it was a presentation of a book by Italian writer-antifascist Max Bonelli “Anti-Maidan: the history of the genocide of the people of the South-East of Ukraine”. n his book the Italian Max Bonelli described the events of the coup d’état in Kiev in 2014, the author assesses the Russian spring in the Crimea, the Odessa tragedy on May, 2 in “The House of Trade Unions”, admires the courage of the residents of Donbas which held a Referendum on May, 11. Being a pharmacist by training Bonelli never studied literary art. Since the Central theme of the book is the review and analysis of data interpretation of the facts of Italian and other European media, the main goal of a Max Bonelli is an attempt to prevent neo – Nazism which began to revive in Europe and is actively supported by the USA. Bonelli, analyzing the Ukrainian events, with accuracy the accuracy can tell who is to blame for the bloody conflict in the Donbas. By the way, the Italian visited Donbas land six times. “I decided to write a book and to show Europe and the world what is actually happening in the South-East of Ukraine,” — said the author at the presentation. According to Bonelli the courage of the citizens of Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics is an example of the imitation of the Italians who later will find their real freedom and independence, freed from the influence of Europe and the USA. As it was noted by writer and anti-fascist “the Italian and European media did not dare tell about your courage, your desire for independence and freedom”. Unfortunately “Anti-Maidan: the history of the genocide of the people of the South-East of Ukraine” has not [been] translated into Russian language, but it can be found for download on the Network or even can be ordered by the Internet.

Victoria Nuland: We do want to be able to communicate clearly with Russia / TASS / August 26, 2015 / Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Ambassador Victoria Nuland in an interview with TASS / Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Ambassador Victoria Nuland in an interview with TASS dwells upon the US-Russia relations, the US position regarding the crisis in Ukraine, Iranian nuclear program deal and visa problems Russia’s Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko has recently faced. TASS: Secretary Kerry’s trip to Sochi in May was widely interpreted as a reflection of US intention to open a new chapter in its relationship with Russia. Was this perception correct? If not, then, from the US Administration point of view, where are the US-Russian relations right now and where are they headed to? Nuland: I think the Secretary’s intention, as he said, when he was in Sochi in the press conference with Foreign Minister Lavrov, was to try to ensure that we were talking directly to the key decision makers in Russia. Our President speaks on the phone to President Putin. But when we went to Sochi in May it’s been quite some time since they’d seen each other and we obviously know how the system is working in Russia now – that if you want to get your message across you need to do it directly with President Putin. So that was the hope, that by speaking directly we could make progress on issues where we are already working together, for example at that time, the Iran deal, we could see whether there were other issues where we could bring our positions more closely into alignment, like on Syria, which they talked about in Sochi, and we could be frank and clear about areas where we disagree, which was the conversation about Ukraine . . . Will Novorossiya Vote to join Russia in Autumn? / by Alexander Chalenko / Fort Russ / August 25, 2015 / “Referendum on the the joining of Donbass to Russia will take place in late autumn” In late autumn, the integration of the two Novorossiya republics, the DPR and LPR, into the structure of Russia will reach a qualitatively new level: it is expected that after a month, after holding local elections to the government of Novorossiya, a referendum will be carried out which will put forth the question of the DPR and LPR joining the Russian Federation. This was reported by a source close to Alexander Zakharchenko, head of the Donetsk republic. “It was previously announced that local elections in the DPR will be held sometime in the beginning of the second half of October, and in early November in the LPR. So consider this. It turns out that the referendum is expected in the DPR in the second half of November and in the LPR in early December. True, elections have only been declared but not scheduled. Kiev is not going to accept them, and therefore there is no intent . . . Andrei Purgin stated two days ago that rumors of such a referendum were enemy misinformation.

Donbass residents rally as Kiev regime prepares new military assault / by Greg Butterfield / Worker’s World / August 25, 2015 / The rightist regime in Kiev, Ukraine, carried out overnight shelling of Donetsk city and threatened an imminent new military offensive by Ukrainian troops. Despite this, thousands of people in Donetsk city rallied Aug. 24 to demand that the Kiev regime, headed by President Peter Poroshenko, stop the war against the independent Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics of the Donbass region. The anti-war protest, titled “Ukraine’s Dependence Day,” was a rejoinder to the jingoistic independence day celebrations organized in Ukraine by the junta of oligarchs, neoliberal politicians and fascists. This grouping took power with U.S.-European Union backing in February 2014. The far-right regime has been dependent on Western economic and military support ever since. On the same date — Aug. 24 — in 1991, pro-capitalist and nationalist forces in Ukraine had declared “independence” from the Soviet Union. This year, a social media call for a flashmob in central Donetsk brought young and old into the streets. They marched from the statue of Taras Shevchenko . . . MORE>>

U.S. to deploy F-22 fighter jets to Europe / Novorossia Today / August 25, 2015 / The United States will deploy F-22 fighter jets to Europe very soon as part of a broader effort to support eastern European members of the NATO alliance unnerved by Russia’s intervention in Ukraine, Air Force Secretary Deborah James said on Monday. James did not give details about the specific number of planes, date or location of the deployment, but said it was in line with Defense Secretary Ash Carter’s recent call for a strong and balanced approach to Russia. The first deployment of the Lockheed Martin Corp (LMT.N) F-22 to Europe outside air shows is seen as a move to address growing concerns among NATO allies about Russian military aggression. The Air Force has also been using radar-evading F-22 fighter jets to carry out some its attacks against Islamic State, the first real combat air strikes by the jets. “Russia’s military activity in the Ukraine continues to be of great concern to us and to our European allies,” James told a news conference at the Pentagon. “For the Air Force, an F-22 deployment is certainly on the strong side of the coin.” Air Force Chief of Staff General Mark Welsh James said the F-22’s inaugural training deployment in Europe would allow U.S. forces to train with NATO partners across Europe, testing the ability of the jets to communicate and fight together with the Eurofighter, and other advanced warplanes. James said the deployment would give F-22 pilots more experience with the European terrain. The Air Force has previously deployed the jets in Japan and South Korea. Welsh said it would also allow the jets to fly into and out of facilities that could be used in some future conflict. The single-seat, twin-engine, all weather stealth tactical fighter aircraft was designed by Lockheed and Boeing Co (BA.N) as an air superiority fighter, but it can also be used for ground attack, electronic warfare, and signals intelligence. The jets formally entered service in December 2005, with the last F-22 delivered to the Air Force in 2012.

UAF Have Two Scenarios for Attack on Republic – Ministry of Defence / DAN / Edited autotranslation / August 23, 2015 / DONETSK / The Armed Forces of Ukraine may launch an attack on the territory of the People’s Republic of Donetsk according to one of two perceived scenarios. This was told to journalists today by the deputy corps commander of the DPR Defense Ministry Eduard Basurin. “The first is the commission by the Ukrainian intelligence services on Ukraine’s Independence Day of terrorist attacks in public places in the [Kiev- tr?]controlled territory, accusing the government of the People’s Republic of a brutal provocation, he said. Eduard Basurin admitted that the victim of this plan could be “one of the representatives of the top military and political leadership.” “The second option – is to commit a large-scale diversion on targets of social infrastructure of the Republic, with a large number of civilian casualties. For example, the use of punitive tactical missile complex “Tochka-U” in the center of the city of Donetsk,” continued the deputy commander. Eduard Basurin stressed that the organized “Ukrainian security services … tragedy will be presented as a planned provocation by the republic’s leadership for the beginning of military operations against the UAF.” These provocations, according to the Kiev authorities will allow the DPR to provoke the armed forces to the response that “will be an opportunity to move the grouping of Ukrainian security services into an offensive position,” added Eduard Basurin. “In any case, no matter what scenario the bloody Kiev regime selects, it will be aimed at the support of its aggression against the Donbass. The sharp intensification of the use of the Armed Forces of Ukraine may be accompanied by an injection of a powerful disinformation [campaign] on the part of major Western news agencies,” summed up Basurin.

Poroshenko Preparing Blitzkrieg in Donbass / by Viktor Baranets / Quemado Institute / Autotranslation from Komsomolskaya Pravda / A few days ago the deputy commander of the Ministry of Defence housing Donetsk People’s Republic (DNI) Eduard Eduard Basurin held a briefing where spoke about one of the most probable (according to his staff) versions of the expected onset of the Ukrainian army. According to the map, which showed reporters Eduard Basurin, intelligence Donetsk corps managed to get a lot of data about the number of troops and military equipment Square in the south-east areas of their deployment, about the nature of “gestures” Ukrainian units and on the front, and in the rear. All this (and much more, including radio intercepts, the testimony of defectors and obtained documents) and allowed the corps headquarters to “read” the basic designs of the enemy. SIGNS OF WAR: In recent months, Ukrainian group Donbass intensively built up on personnel, military equipment and ammunition. Day and night are brought reinforcements projectiles: bombs and provisions by rail from the city of Kharkiv Raisins and then machines all forwarded to the “front line”. All this – the sure signs of a large-scale training operation. Announced the next mobilization. Military using the local population Stakhanov pace built almost 600 kilometers and the “three-layer” barrier, which consists of nearly 300 points of support, – where, according to its configuration, it is made in such a way that after Cleave Ukrainian army units Donetsk troops would be forced to to retreat towards the Russian border, where they will grind and machine guns and guns entrenched in concrete fortresses Ukrainian fighters. At the same time the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine ordered the army and the National Guard to prepare a thorough line of defense along the border with the Crimea – has dug dozens of kilometers of trenches and ditches (along which several rows of stretched barbed wire), the same is equipped with a myriad of machine-gun nests, the land along the border Sappers densely bustles mines. All this is done clearly on the case to the aid of Donetsk and Lugansk units rush Crimeans. Moreover, to cover the borders of Crimea (which can be seen on the map shown Eduard Basurin) set up a special group of forces. Intensely driven into a state of high alert fighter and ground attack aircraft the Air Force of Ukraine. Counterintelligence DNI and LC in recent months, more and more catches in the territory of their own republics infiltrators “on the side”, which is also – a clear sign of preparation of the Ukrainian security forces for combat operations. . . . Poroshenko Deploys Over 170 Units of Armory to Fight Donbass / Sputnik / August 23, 2015 / Looks like Ukraine is preparing for opening active warfare on the eve of the country’s independence day – over 170 items of military equipment will be delivered to army divisions now deployed in Donbass over the next few days. Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko has conveyed certificates for various kinds of military hardware to members of armed forces of the country during his visit on the training range in Chuhuiv, Kharkiv region, Saturday, according to the country’s Ministry of Defense. Armaments are set to be tested and within two days sent to the so-called Anti-Terrorist operation (ATO) zone in the east of the country. And it probably should be tested first – the point is that the big part of the delivery consists of old equipment repaired by the Ukrainian military-industrial complex. Still, the list of the armament looks like the country is getting prepared for active warfare. Kiev Mobilized for Full-Scale Aggression on Donbass / by Stephen Lendman / sjlendman.blogspot / August 23, 2015 / Obama’s war on Donbass using Ukrainian army foot soldiers, paramilitaries, foreign mercenaries, Nazi-infested death squads and others never stopped since initiated in April 2014. Kiev flagrantly violated Geneva and two Minsk ceasefire agreements straightaway. Obama wants endless war. So do US-installed fascists violating human and civil rights brazenly, terrorizing Ukrainians opposing their ruthless rule. At an August 22 military ceremony in Chuguev, near Donbass, illegitimate oligarch president Petro Poroshenko boasted about using Minsk II to rearm and increase Ukraine’s military ranks to much greater size than last year – despite a bankrupt economy near collapse, using borrowed funds desperately needed for vital services going begging. More on this below. Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) military spokesman Eduard Basurin said Kiev’s armed forces in Southeastern Ukraine total 90,000. Their weapons include 450 tanks, 203 salvo artillery units, and five Tochka-U missile systems. “A total of five separate mechanized brigades, two separate tanks brigades, and air mobile brigade, an artillery brigade, and a salvo system brigade have been deployed…to Mariupol,” he explained. “All in all, this grouping has 22,500 men and officers, more than 130 tanks, more than 560 armored cars, fifty-five salvo artillery units, about 200 artillery guns and mortars, and about 720 antitank weapons.” DPR’s Defense Ministry intelligence shows heavy troop and weapons concentrations deployed near Donetsk. Kiev Ready to Cut Ukraine Off Donbass – Former President / Sputnik / August 23, 2015 / The first president of post-Soviet Ukraine Leonid Kravchuck claimed that Kiev authorities had fallen short of conquering Donbass and now it is high time to fence the country off the region. “We don’t have to lie to ourselves. It’s [fencing] a common practice around the world. I know president Poroshenko is close to such decision,” he explained in an interview to UNN. In this case the battlefront line would become the country’s new eastern border until the government had the opportunity to reclaim the territory. According to Kravchuk, Ukraine faces its toughest crisis since its independence in 1991. Kravchuck pointed out that “the Ukrainian nation is very disappointed with both the government and the war”. Since April 2014 Kiev has been trying to suppress Donbass independence supporters who rejected to recognize the legitimacy of the new coup-imposed Ukrainian government.

Perfetti, of Novopole, Sums up Novorossiya, its Historic Setting, its Present, its Future / Fort Russ / August 22, 2015 / The current conflict in Ukraine is the result of historical antagonisms between the peoples of the region, but also, and above all, resulting from Washington’s global offensive that has two major strategic objectives: 1. Encircle Russia and prevent the emergence of a geopolitical block that would be an alternative to the Western-capitalist hegemony. 2. Maintain US suzerainty over Europe by opposing a Europe-Russia rapprochement and more importantly a rapprochement between Germany and Russia. The struggle being conducted by “Novorossya” fits, in the global struggle of the free peoples against Americano-centric US-globalism, quite beyond its historical and local setting, and beyond whatever arguments nostalgic propagandists deploy on each other. Our compatriot Vincent Perfetti is one of the executives of the NOVOPOLE organization in France that organizes political and material support for Novorossya. His visit in Corsica gives him a chance to decipher this dramatic conflict between Europeans. Novorossya, or more precisely the Union of Peoples Republics of New Russia is a project initiated by a few political figures of Donbass (the Don basin) in the east of the former Ukraine after the coup that was fomented in Kiev by the US called “Maidan” in February 2014.
